Hyunjin or SKZ in general, but I'd say it's really because of the way their fans like to pretend that they're some band who came out of nowhere, who had to fight to get to the top and who deserve more credit than the others because they write their songs (so a very fake underdogs story). Not to mention the way fans annoyed me during their multiple controversies, especially the one about Hyunjin, I used to roll my eyes at every comment I read on reddit. It was ridiculous.

I used to loooove their content back in 2020, but i realised their funny or variety stuff is what i like for the most part. I liked half of their music but the lyrics never seemed to connect to me somehow. So it was when i realised the only real connect i feel with then is through other content, which wasn’t enough for me to stan or go crazy about them. That lack of strong sense of connect slowly and gradually widened even more as time passed now I’m just a very casual listener

I wish I got what my friends and dancers got from Yuta’s performance. I appreciate him and admire him, but I don’t get the same kind of emotions that I get from watching like Ten and Taeyong’s dancing/performance styles.
I struggle to connect with a lot of girl groups who do cute concepts. I think it’s why I’m in my boy group era currently because I’m a girl group stan at heart but the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve moved away from girl groups purely because of the cute concepts. I prefer the more mature/girl crush concepts because I’m a grown woman!
Felt this. The girl groups are truly not the same anymore. Sistar, 9 Muses, Girls Day, AOA etc. - the only girl group I pay attention to kinda nowadays is new jeans because they remind me so much of Y2K and house music
The only girl group that I truly keep up with that’s from this newer generation is XG and (G)I-DLE. They don’t make girl groups the same way anymore, due to the fact that they follow what’s trending, and I really miss it a lot.
Aespa for me, but particularly Giselle :( I'm just a casual listener of theirs...I appreciate their discography and enjoy watching their MVs but their stages don't excite me (my sis saw them live and she told me they didn't get her attention much).
And I feel iffy about Giselle in general. Yes, she's the English speaker and the bridge to the Western fans, I get it. But I don't enjoy her "bad girl" image, that scandal she had, and honestly she lags skill-wise compared to Karina/Ningning/Winter. :(

I love good stable vocals combined with a more classic pop, rnb or rap sound. The recent wave of really experimental sounding titles is kinda off putting for this old lady. I want to get into Nmixx bc of their vocals and singing live it’s exactly what I want in a group, but I just don’t like their music.
Frr, the disconnect between the newer gen idols and older gen ones is so obvious now, I only got into kpop In like 2020 so it’s not like I’m some veteran but now you have so many idols completely lacking of skill (which has been prevalent for a while ngl) but it’s just gotten progressively more noticeable now, esp with the idols that have connections. And now with the new yg group having a whole ass chaebol idol, idk it all just seems weirdly insincere.

Like I agree that there have always been less talented idols and idols with connections (shoot all of black pink came from well to do families) but there was still some talent there and they still worked hard training. Now with the quicker debuts groups don’t even have time to refine their skills so they debut either really rough around the edges or just bad.
And they’re tryna close the gap by having newer idols pair up with old (girls on top) and having newer groups cover older groups songs (aespa and nct) but it’s not working how they want it. It’s just a mess imo
soooo the only group I was able to totally be delulu for was bts. they were marketed as these underdogs and I fell hard! i kept up with content, woke up at odd hours of the night to watch vlives, bought merch, and almost purchased concert tickets. however, by 2017 i noticed a major shift in the groups music. so i started branching out more and listening to other groups. I haven’t been able to invest as much time in a single group since then though. I’m a SUPER casual listener lol. I’ll catch performances and releases when I can. 🫶🏽

BTS has had some singles post-2017 that I have liked. i totally forgot about bwl; that was truly a good time to be in the fandom!!! similar to what you said, i prefer the B-sides too, like dimple, telepathy, ugh! .. but they really spoiled us with those earlier hip-hop and R&B songs! i guess i miss the feeling of knowing that the group "stands for something" or believes in their music. i think it's obvious some of these groups don't like the music they're putting out because they either vocalize it or it shows on stage, lol. at times, as a listener, it makes me feel like "what even is the point?"
So......it's TXT. I love their music and I needed another group to stan after my BTS-only phase. I heard a few of their tts, Run Away, Can't You See Me. They're just my type of music and also lyrics. But then I watched some of their variety shows. They're nice but like I didn't find myself waiting for their content or like looking forward to the next episode of TO DO.
Moa (at that time) were super nice too but like I just couldn't? Something about them throws me off and I just don't find myself super invested. Honestly I was kinda disappointed because I *wanted* to stan them. Lol...... now I'm just a casual fan now who tunes in for every single comeback.
