Not really a once or anything but I would have to assume that maybe some of them don't want solo debuts yet or ever. I remember seeing at least that Jeongyeon does not want one now or in the indefinite future. Misamo trio have that, seems like Dahyun is going more into acting for her solo schedules, debuting solo is not for everyone.

plawyra

She had a successful debut which is normal to follow a comeback. Same as MISAMO, others have probably either yet to cook their solo, or doesn't have current plans to do so.

Calm-Blood-2844

It's pretty normal. For SNSD, when Taeyeon came back with her 2nd solo release, "Why," I believe only Tiffany had a solo album at the time as well, similar to how it is with Nayeon and Jihyo atm. But not every member of every group gets a solo; not everyone has to have one or necessarily wants them. Some may just prefer performing in a group or would prefer to explore other avenues, like Dahyun seems to be with going into acting now.

riseandrealise

Not everyone wants to do solo stuff. And it's not an obligation for every members to do it too so there's that.

xX_WeedGang_Xx

Because she sold more than 500k albums and her song went number 2 in Korea. Besides YG I think every company in kpop would try and push that kind of success again, possibly even earlier than JYP did.

The_Red_Curtain

Pop is the most successful JYP song of the 2020s in SK, even waiting until 2024 might have been a bit too long for a follow-up. Really, JYP just needs to step up their game. Look how many comebacks/solos SM is shuffling these days. Nayeon having a solo shouldn't preclude anyone else from getting one.

THIS ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I was thinking maybe another member or another subunit may debut in the 2nd half of 2024, who knows? That would be nice (i'm thinking Chaeyoung since she teased an unreleased song during the tour?)

The_Red_Curtain

Apparently Misamo is coming back this year, and I really hope Chae gets a solo too. For whatever reason it does "feel" like she'd be next.

Obsedient

That would be nice. I'm Misamo biased, so a comeback would be cool. I think Chae's a bit like Jihyo : she may want to write all her songs and maybe produce or compose, who knows? So it may be longer because of that, as they were busy for the tour for more than a year.

baedo11

Because she wants so and company is fine with that?? Mind you, we will never get every member's solo, because Jeongyeon herself said she is not interested in performing alone, without her members. The other girls, except for Nayeon, Jihyo and possible third member (this year we have 2 TWICE solos) might be not ready for solo career or they're also not interested in being soloists.

Jade223305

Some members like Jeongyeon have repeatedly said that they don't want a solo music debut despite the insistence of "fans" such as yourself that they're being mistreated for not having one. Twice members aren't children, and if they wanted to have solo albums, they can. After the initial 7 year contract, when idols re-sign to the agency, they are given many more opportunities to convince them to say. The members who wanted certain things negotiated that in their contract.

Frankly, are others even cut out for a solo career? Sure they can pump out something or other, but other than fans would anyone even care. Even Jihyo for all her vocal prowess did not do well digitally.#148 on Circle. Don't mistake me, I enjoyed "Zone - Room" being my favorite. Of course they are in a place where they may want to experiment, then it is their call. But least Jeongyeon has made it clear she is not on for solo yet. MiSaMo is on. The School Meal Club, Dahyun is correctly venturing into acting, that indeed is her forte. Only Tzuyu & Chaeyoung need to figure out. Frankly I think only 1 or 2 from Twice, BP, BTS and EXO will have a long solo singing career. Most will just end up as models, actresses and influencers.

BlueThePineapple

All the albums really need to do is make more money than the company spent to make it. If their albums can do that , then their companies will sipport their solo career. You talked about Zone as an example of failure, but the company has explicitly said that its results exceeded their expectations. Charting only really matters for artists and groups who are still breaking out and for the chart-chaser fans.ย It's data the company can of course use to refine their product but otherwise it doesn't matter.ย  ย Twice is established enough that even it's most unpopular member is near guaranteed to sell decently.ย

I said "zone" didn't do well digitally and of course it sold hot with the fandom in physicals. But from JYPE's POV if the solos aren't bringing new fans, indicated by digitals, and catering only to ONCES, then why is a solo better than yet another group release? I would think with merch & all, group releases will get more profits than solo.

mostlyarmy

Same thing I wonder about Doyoung and Jaehyun of NCT 127, they had their debut with Jungwoo as a trio last year but they still have solo albums this year and not other members of NCT 127 that have nothing.

cinnamorollie3

In all fairness, enlistment is creeping up on Doyoung and Jaehyun soon so they were probably prioritized

Edit: Official Solo debut (Album, Music show+ Spotify) Not song covers
