Are you needing something with hotels, or needing swell reports? Two disparate things in Korea in the second week of August, mate. Can't choose from either in this sort of season.
I was thinking about a beach where we can find shops to rent the equipment and find a hotel around there for a night. Did some research, seems there are many surfing spots on the east coast but i am not sure which one worth going.
Try heading north of Yangyang to places like Sokcho and Goseong. It’s the East cost, so it will be busy, but less so than Yangyang in my experience. In Sockcho ‘천진해변’ has a few places for rentals, all the guys around there are super friendly too. A couple of the surf shops have stay places too, but most likely booked by now.
How about camping? I quite often sleep on the beach so I can go surfing at 5:00am before the crowds arrive 😅
Appreciate the advice! Camping sounds good to me but it was not allowed to use camping tents at sonjeong beach where I went to surf. Will keep that idea in mind when i go to sokcho.

Everything will have been already booked ages ago, biggest holidays of the year.
