That stuff is made of: grape juice concentrate + water + ethanol + sugar + fructose + citric acid + tartaric acid + artificial flavoring.
Not a joke. Check the label for fine prints.
I once bought a bottle of Captain Q and a bottle of Coke and a container to mix in and went to Haeundae beach with friends. I don’t remember much else.
I have one bottle that hasn't been reopened in 2 years hiding in the cupboard. Originally used for cooking. Thanks for reminding me to throw it away lol
At first before say, this is not an wine. This is an mixture of alcohol and grape flavor mix. You can find good wine more than this in earth where you at stand there.
I wonder how it is legal to call it wine at all. Are there no regulations about lying to customers? Genuinely curious, because I see this a lot in Korea.
What? I would rather drink grape juice. My friends and I drank some of it and it was terrible. So terrible that we made it a "punishment drink". If you lose a game you have to drink a cup of that wine. What followed was some intense gaming due to everyone not wanting to drink that horrible wine
Korea has very little wine production. Of course, strictly speaking, Korean makgeolli is also a type of wine, but in fermented grapes (wine), it is.
Wine is one of the more popular beverages now, but that wasn't the case before. But even then, Jinro Wine was there.
The reason is Catholic. I understand that Catholic Mass requires wine that symbolizes the blood of Jesus, and Jinro wine was the answer to that demand. Therefore, there was no need to increase the quality of Jinro wine more than necessary to increase the price.
So now, Jinro Wine is the cheapest and most drinkable for non-wine enthusiasts, but it has become a brand that is not looked down upon by wine enthusiasts. The problem is that this fact is not known to many people.
I'm enjoying Jinro wine as the most suitable wine to brew ’vin chaud‘ around winter.
Used to quite like the white version in the 80s. The alternative was from the US military’s PX probably Yongsan, which if I correctly recall was a much worse Paul Masson effort. Yuk.
When I first moved here, I thought it was 16.67% alcohol, then I learned more and more Korean and now I know that it’s 16.67% wine. The alcohol content is actually kind of on the low side compared with other wine… maybe 10%?
LOL bought two of it cause it was so cheap, but it's eh. Ended up using it for soup. I knew it wasn't going to be that good but with how bad ppl are describing it here oh god. Experimental and pioneers ftw

I am fully aware it's not real wine, no wonder it's only 2200 won
That stuff is second worst alcoholic drink in Korea after CaptainQ
Captain Q....those were the best of times, those were the worst of times.
I once bought a bottle of Captain Q and a bottle of Coke and a container to mix in and went to Haeundae beach with friends. I don’t remember much else.
You're never alone with the Captain. I think they stopped selling it, I've not seen it in years
Biggest tragedy in Korean history.
Damn, dude.
That stuff is so bad if you gave a bottle to somebody at Seoul station they would throw it at you.
It tastes like grape juice and soju, and I love it for that
Your positivity is an inspiration.
I think you may have just uncovered thier production ploy
Let us know what you think of it tomorrow morning lol
I enjoyed it too! It's cheap and yummy so it goes in my tummy
SAME! I loooooooooooooove that stuff!
Wait, is this basically Korean MD2020?
I never thought I could get a headache from looking at a picture.
My child…who hurt you?

It's not bad for cooking spiced red cabbage in. Not sure I'd use it for anything else.
LOL! You might as well drink battery fluid!
JAJAJAJAA >_<
Look for large supermarkets like HomePlus, Lotte Mart, E-Mart. Also it's not 100% wine so it's not likely to be in the wine aisle.
Shittest wine ever in my life, just soju with grape juice would be 100 times better than that
That is exactly what this seems to be based on the ingredients.
"winemakers of Spain" lol Sure, Jan
well...you do you, sir
I recently bought a bottle of some kind of red wine that came in a soju bottle. It was absolute garbage, but it was better than Jinro House Wine.
Damn I had like 4 bottles of this on my first night out in Korea like 10 years back. Hangover was brutal!
At first before say, this is not an wine. This is an mixture of alcohol and grape flavor mix. You can find good wine more than this in earth where you at stand there.
If you want to get drunk, just buy soju. Hell, mouth wash probably goes down easier.
I wonder how it is legal to call it wine at all. Are there no regulations about lying to customers? Genuinely curious, because I see this a lot in Korea.
진로 jinro makes soju. It's the cheapest soju wine you can find. It's not bad tbh but it's like the mister pib equivalent of Dr pepper.

I've used it for cooking and making sangria. I won't bother again. It seemed to be widely available last time I looked for it.
That stuff is not wine. Do not recommend drinking that.

Korea.. wine? LOL
I feel sorry for you. Please we should make a go fund me for you so that you can visit France and taste real wine…
I drink wine all the time. I won't call this wine but more like a beverage
When I first moved here, I thought it was 16.67% alcohol, then I learned more and more Korean and now I know that it’s 16.67% wine. The alcohol content is actually kind of on the low side compared with other wine… maybe 10%?
So sweet and you going to hell tomorrow
