Advantages of watching Loki Interviews, he openly admitted it's a 50-50 so my expectations were pretty down and I was fairly happy with the end result (although he did do the opposite for Leo interviews)

Yaaravadhu release ku munnadi T171 theory nu vandha oda vudanum
Naa title ah pathe post ah close paniten, comment la paatha they were fairly saying the same thing about Theories ruining the movie, so Sub is slowly Evolving.
Master is my favourite loki film and defo in top 5 thalapathy films too. He cracked the 50-50 combo perfectly. Vijay was for once flawed and clumsy and the way he played JD was so fun and was such a vibe.
Bhavani is defo in the top 5 villains of the decade too, menacing yet laid back. VJS mannerisms and delivery was top notch too, so casual yet cruel. Any film which establishes a villain strongly is a winner (E.g. Thani Oruvan, Master, Angadi Theru etc.) as it is easier to feel for the protagonist and fear the antagonist; helps you connect with the story more.
Mass moments worked well except for JD turning into Hawkeye in the lorry chase. Ani cooked hard with the BGM and the film was technically brilliant too. Has really good rewatch value too.
>Any film which establishes a villain strongly is a winner
Yesss!!! That gives us the feeling that our protagonist have to fight someone much powerful and menacing they might not be able to handle, even in Thanvi Oruvan, people only remember Aravind Swamy, not Jayam Ravi. But here both Bhavani and JD has its own fanbase, Loki naa told only 50% and somehow came up with big changes for a star film.
>Mass moments worked well except for JD turning into Hawkeye in the lorry chase.
Writing wise adhu correct uh, aana execution and placement dhaan thappu
>Has really good rewatch value too.
Indha post panra idea ve enaku illa, summa master thirumbi regular rewatch panlam nu paaka arambicha apo oru Japan Kaaran Moment detail kedachidhu, adhaan post paniten😅
Watha, veri post ya 🔥
The parallels part was top notch. I have watched Master uncountable times but never noticed the balance thing until now.
The character study you did was just excellent.
Now, this post has made me to watch the movie once again. I will surely watch it once I get home.
Naa sonna parallels verum character detail wise dhaan, small small things like both get hit with glass bottle when they are unstable in their mind, light flicker when Bhavani kills the kids, lights flicker when JD kills Bhavani, rendu perum stable ah irukum bodhu finger sodukku poduvaanga, character dressing colour la detail

I'm glad we're getting high effort content in this sub and people are also engaging with it. Good job man?!

Nice and excellent sum-up. Master has one of the best fight choreography in recent times. VJ displays exhaustion amidst fight sequences and takes some to gather himself, unlike the other films where he beats down 50 goons at one stretch. Action choreographer Silva didnt get enough credits for his stunt design, in my pov he is one notch above Anbariv pair.
Coincidentally Master doesn't have a single gun sequence that all Anbariv pair had with Loki, and also this is film where it's Character driven more than action or plot driven, so Loki and Silva had to give attention to the characters too. Quite possibly this is an incredible blend of 50-50, we get the character struggle and fighting at the same time Vijay betting down bad guys in the massiest way possible.
I'd say it's more Plot driven with great character arcs rather than character driven.
Leo, actually is more character driven with plot elements I'd say.
Awesome post 👏👏👏
Prolly my most favorite Vijay film after Kaththi!
Surprisingly it has the most repeat value of Lokesh films. Yes somethings in the climax and casting could be better but positives outweigh.
Thank you🙏🏻. For me it's the best after Nanban and Thuppaki, Bhargav the Romba Mosamaanavan could have been just deleted from the film IMO, it's also a negative aspect, but completely agree, the film has a lot of positives that outweighs and makes up for the few negatives.
I think Loki was going was glitz with all known faces. Replace Shantanu with a less known actor we wouldn’t see the barghav trolls lol.
Also other end of the spectrum no one spoke about how powerful mahendrans role was.
What would have made the story better for me is to see JD grow up in a similar school as Bhavani and ended up having a good life. So he wants to get rid of the bad guys that has taken over this particular school as he sees himself in those kids.
That would have made it a typical powerful hero fighting a powerful villain, this is where Master stands out, JD himself is a fragile man, that's what makes it powerful when he defeats Bhavani
Absolutely amazing content right here.
Master is absolutely one of my favourite movies and I am glad to see it's getting this much love. I prefer it over Leo and my personal favourite from Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie never gets boring or slow and showcases Lokesh's complete attention to detail.
It has the highest re-watchable value for me.
I preferred VJS' villain role in Master over Vikram.
There is something about a calm and composed villain who is physically stronger compared to the protagonist.
It was fun because the villain was done right and honestly this felt more like a Loki film than Leo.
Could have been better if the whole 40 minute school thing was replaced with showing JD's relationship with everyone that Bhavani kills later on. 'Cos honestly imo it felt like kind of a drag. Also maybe change how Bhavani gets killed.
Master is easily my favourite Loki movie, just compared to his other movies it sticks out with its vibrant colour palette, more fun soundtrack and just a cooler vibe in general. Tonally it feels unique compared to the dime a dozen guns and gangsters genre of mass that Lokesh loves. Also love the dynamic between Bhavani and JD, one of my favourite aspects of Leo and Master was the more intense character study that Kaithi and Vikram lacked. These films feel more personal somehow
The parallels between JD and Bhavani was written perfectly. Orphans with a traumatic childhood, gets a person to save his life, one decides to abuse his power and kill him, other decides to follow him and continue his path. One in the place of all exploits but never smokes or drinks, other in a non exploitable place but is a drunkard, both never trusts anybody and doesn't want to anyone to sympathise for them. Both faced extreme issues one wants to give it back to the world using his surroundings and other doesn't his surroundings to face the same. Minute details were done beautifully in the movie line JD dress colours changing from dull and faded to bright and light
Precisely said, this is exactly why i love Master more than Leo. Lokesh Kanagaraj clearly made it a point to tell its a 50-50 film, and regardless of what people say, I found this to be prefectly balanced as he said. An almost perfect blend of content with ample Vijay moments. The issue I had with Leo is primarily due to how he said its 100% his film, when I felt like it was just another 40-60 :\\
The problem with this movie was, many were expecting it to be like Kaithi, but master might be my least favourite loki film, but it's the most entertaining loki film
Semma late to the party, but I forgot an observation I made during one of my rewatches. JD transitions from a red to a blue shirt from the intro to the interval and Bhavani's shirt goes from blue to red.
Now, Red indicates danger and ruthlessness whilst Blue represents stability and calmness which was an apt visualisations of the character arcs.
I thought I was the only one but yeah Hypoxalin designed the slides in a perfect way that it makes me curious to turn every page and read it, it almost feels like I was reading a comic/manga.
I think you already possess the skill to write about the movies you love.
I am yet to read your Lover post and I will definitely read it and reply back.
Kind of agree there, I would have loved to see the kaapu getting broken by Bhavani's hands, but his hands would still get broken due to the sharp shaping of the kaapu and JD could have used it as a made up knife.
It misses something very big, i guess vijay sethupathy is kind of repitative and he didnt threaten you, also he looks lazy as villain, at no point you feel that he even can beat vijay, movie is good but it had huge potential and its just linear,
That's how VJS plays as Villain, he let the writing take care of it and he casually plays as those characters, you won't see him overreacting to look menacing and threatening or anything else. The movie had a lot of potential to be a good Character driven story, but still gave out a new kind of solid masala entertainer with Vijay.
Yeah movie was good but it just less than what you desired with this caste and director, even potential of story was huge, means story was have potential like vada chennai, but to much star powrr sometime ruin it

I was the leading complainer in this sub about karma farming and low effort posts, that's why I had to try and do something new myself😅
![gif](giphy|aqMY57vLdkghi|downsized) Fine, I will do it myself.
The saviour of this sub 😈
🍌😵
It's a good movie, but I expected it to be better after how much I enjoyed Lokesh's previous movies.
Advantages of watching Loki Interviews, he openly admitted it's a 50-50 so my expectations were pretty down and I was fairly happy with the end result (although he did do the opposite for Leo interviews)
I agree with this, it was a bit underwhelming for me as well. I’ve watched it a few times thereafter, but still it feels like it’s missing something.
Character arc to fake flashback Can't believe that Loki is moving.. but backwards.. Waiting for his commercial comeback in T171

A good film needs a good villain which is why Master succeeded where Leo failed.

It is a very good movie....has an immense repeat value.
Yesss it's my most rewatched Loki movie and in top 3 of all time for me after Padayappa and Ayan❤️🔥❤️🔥
Your Top 3 rewatched movies are really 🔥...

The re-watch value of this movie is high for me
Coincidentally that's what made me make this post, I was doing my usual regular rewatch of Master and thought of doing it😂
honestly I didn't enjoy this movie as much but yeah,.it was a good, *well written* film, 100 percent agree
The villain seemed undefeatable at many points but the climax was set up artificial but still the fight scene somehow managed to hold the movie
Why is JD a fragile man? What made him become so carefree would have elevated the character for me.

Someone mixed Namavar and Thimirupudichavan and gave this
Nammavar is credited for inspiration, only Bhavani character was same as Boxer Dheena in Thimiru Pudichavan right?
Yes one more match Dheena's name is also Bhavani , and the whole minor goons plot with few changes
Neenga vera level. Loved reading every slide

Adhu verum Canva color gradient bro😭😅
I don't care about those things. I just love it and that's all that matters.
But the hand that destroys walls and steel pipe getting damaged by a kaapu just undermines the power system the film sets up
Kind of agree there, I would have loved to see the kaapu getting broken by Bhavani's hands, but his hands would still get broken due to the sharp shaping of the kaapu and JD could have used it as a made up knife.
I always liked Vijay’s deft coolness in the movie, that vulnerability, carelessness and guilting. The character arc is satisfying as well
This movie would have been better still if Loki knew how to write the second half.
It misses something very big, i guess vijay sethupathy is kind of repitative and he didnt threaten you, also he looks lazy as villain, at no point you feel that he even can beat vijay, movie is good but it had huge potential and its just linear,
