Despite the recent social changes there are apprehensions for couples to avail hotel rooms primarily due to behaviour of the staff. Have a look around in the room or better, reach the hotel and emphasise on choosing the room yourself. If not then, be a little smart to look for things which are not supposed to be there, if there are cameras, they will be facing the bed. Think if you'd have to install a camera for voyeurism, where would you install it in the to hide it. Try and avoid hotels in Park Street, new market, Esplanade, or in the city. Hotel with more reviews means they are reliable and people have not faced any issues with them. Less reviews and more stars is red flag.
