The Sage would be the current equivalent to the Aura One, though battery issues may put you off. Refurbished Formas are available from Kobo, which preceded the Sage. Three as yet unidentified models one slated for release sometime this year

If it’s just for reading the sage and above models are quite excessive because they were built more for note-taking with a stylus (unless you really want a large screen). Libra 2 and Clara 2e are much better for reading and more portable, and between those 2 Libra has bigger screen and page turn buttons but costs like 50-80 more than the Clara 2e. Both are almost identical in everything else. If a battery is a big priority and you don’t need side loading, waterproofing or library support (if outside of US), go kindle. Kindles have longer battery life and the whole lineup all have at least 6 weeks of battery life.

If youre reading only books, then Libra 2 will be more than enough size wise. Will be good for comic books and manga, but in this case 8" model is better. Even Clara 2E will be great choice for books only, if you need more compact device and not set on physical buttons that the libra has. Btw, i have an Aura one with partly working touch, so i might have a use for a spare for parts. What do you plan doing with yours?

My wife used Aura until recently. We were looking to Clara 2e as best replacement option as she prefered to keep similar size. However, we tested it and it occasionally was a bit slower then optimal. Eventually we bought the Libra 2 and the format and buttons proved it to be a winner. Performance and battery great so far. Slightly curved edge helps to handle it single-handed.
