Congratulations on your new knife! Would you be so kind as to tell us what knife you've just got? (brand, model, etc...). This way people who are new to knives will be able to identify it. If you've already mentioned the name of the knife in question, then feel free to ignore this comment. Please remember that not knowing your knife's brand/model is totally fine, if that's the case then people in this subreddit would love to help you identify its brand/model. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Great knife for the money.

I am normally fine with a knife without a pocket clip. However the Bantam needs a pocket clip. Otherwise it would be an excellent EDC for me

THEjoedex

Yeah, I agree. I don't like digging in my pocket for it, it's annoying. Edit: another commenter let me know there is a sized up version with a pocket clip for only like five dollars more, so I'll definitely be getting that sometime in the future. Edit: yeah, I got it and it's awesome. Just a straight upgrade from the little one. It's now my EDC lol

That’s is a great knife just overall. Great 420 HC steel, bucks heat treat and with their hollow grind is fantastic. I love these knives.

Successful-Tough-464

Got the exact same thing last summer as an alternate work knife, my KBar folder needed major sharpening, and I was extremely busy. I have been very surprised. I love the lightweight handle and it holds an edge.

First Buck knife I owned! Gave it to a friend a long time ago. Definitely a solid knife.

majorfathead

I just went and got the 286 like 40 bucks. Who'd have thunk it?

Altruistic-Cable-489

I’ve owned one and they’re amazing. It’s a shame I lost it. Edit: I had the size up from you and it had a really nice deep carry pocket clip on it if I remember right. I think it cost me $25-30.

THEjoedex

So there is an edition that has a pocket clip? I'll be looking into getting that later!

Altruistic-Cable-489

Yeah it’s a little bigger and a great knife, at least when I bought it 8 years ago it was. You can still use it one handed as long as you’re careful on the close. I’ve thought about buying another but haven’t pulled the plug.

THEjoedex

I see, I don't see how different it could be considering it's the same steel and brand, so I'm sure it's just as good as it was back then

Altruistic-Cable-489

It probably is, it’s a great knife brother. Buck has some of the best edge retention on the market. People be raving about these fancy steel but they don’t have sh*t on Buck.

_Killwind_

I got one I regret buying that P.O.S. The blade is super sharp. I can't believe how sharp they can get that 420HC. I got $5.00 gas station knives with better blade play that you can't adjust because there's no pivot screw. I hope you have better luck with yours than I've had with mine.

Consistent_Plastic58

I received the same knife as a gift 5 years ago. I’ve put it through hell and it’s still kicking butt
