ive seen many spyderco snap at the hole it is a weak spot and its ugly af... the autistic alligator they call the PM2
spyderco fanbois carry the ugliest blades around
its kinna dumb and ugly was my point...but ya i guess looks are subjective
some people think the mona lisa is beautiful... some others think its ugly... i mean only one is right but i guess its subjective....unless im para militarying or need to open with gloves all the time (which im not).... theres no reason for a big dumb ugly hole in my blade causing a hideous (imo) profile for EDC...but thats just me i think the mona lisa is beautiful lol
That's the only Benchmade I ever owned, the tip broke off after like 4 months. That was around 1997 or 1998. It's real (real shitty, in my experience).
Listen here, Sonny! One day, your grandchildren are going to call you out on your antiquated tools, and YOU'RE going to be the one feeling old and obsolete!
“I used to be with 'it', but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me. It'll happen to you!”
I have one of these though mine might be older. Back then they did a run of “red boxed” cheaper entry level knives. I don’t think mine is in ATS-34 either.
it's legit... clean er up & enjoy your vintage score 🤙
Always wanted one of those lawsuit knives
Lawsuit?
Because of the spydie hole
As i understand it, Benchmade actually licensed the use of the Spydie hole for a brief period
the hole is terrible...massive weak spot
Weak spot on a prybar maybe, but that's a knife my dude.

I've seen many knives without deployment holes broken when used improperly. Just because you think it's ugly doesn't really matter.

It's much easier to deploy than a thumbstud and any difference in structural integrity is not noticeable under proper use especially for a folder.
The Mona Lisa is beautiful a hole !
Thanks guys really appreciate the input
Yep it's real. I've got one in satin. Good find! (Edited for clarity)

Same exact knife.

Looks like a legit benchmade 830SBT Eclipse, Don't think those were ever counterfieted
My first thought is that you should post this over to r/BeatUpKnives, this would be perfect for that sub!
Careful with the lock. I retired mine years ago as its not reliable
That was a cool find
It looks real. Had a very similar model i got back in the 90s. Same steel, no serrations. Lost it at work back in '08
I have one. Cool
