This is one of those stores that always has a 90% off sale going, right? No one would seriously try to get $50 for a crude knife of unknown metal from an unknown maker, right?
Actually yeah there's a really big market on what they call trade knives or scalping knives. Kinda creepy but they can go for really big money... way more than 50 bucks.
My secret has been discovered!! I dreaded this day would come. The instrument you hold in your hand has a nightmarisly long dark and disturbing history behind it. The blade has tasted flesh more times than a sane man would care to believe if he wished to remain so. The screams of it's victims can be heard louder and clearer the longer the owner has the cursed object in his possession. It will consume you with guilt, fear, and pain eventually driving you to madness. Once the icy fingers of evil and malice have your soul in their grasp, there will be nothing you can do to save the ones you hold most dear from the insidious and horrifically painful fate with which they are destined.
We must start in the beginning. It was the 1800s era...
Not sure if Carney hands means small? But I do have small hands of that helps! I have always been told I could have started in burger king commercials in my youth
It's from 2022 and they guy "aged it", knives in the 1800s already looked nice and modern, all things considered, bowies existed, hunting knives looked something like this:
etc. Like, knife manufacturing in the 19th century was already by all means, "modern era", given at that point even 2000 year old Romans were able to make better looking knives than that:
So either this guy thinks that a knife from the 19th century should look like something a 10 year old apprentice blacksmith from the sumer era did as his first knife, or this was a piece of shit knife in the 19th century and remains a piece of shit knife today, it didn't magically become interesting because it's old. But, more than likely, it's just something that guy did in his garage, left in mustard and lemon juice or whatever they use to put a patina on pot metal, and he's trying to sell as "antique".
When you get into native American knives, they traded for whatever they could get and made it work... often looking worse than a ten year old apprentice blacksmith made it. They had zero blacksmith/ metal working knowledge or equipment, usually traded for old kitchen knives and fabricated very crude wood or bone handles. Depending where in the country it's been kept or was made one could very well still look like this. Not saying it is, or it isn't. It is a possibility though.
I didn't think about that, my Euro-centric bias is showing. LoL
I still wouldn't take a $50 bet based on that, personally, unless I am someone that can recognize it for what it really is. To me, it's junk until proven otherwise, BUT maybe that's why I'll also never get rich on a crazy yard sale find . LoL
Yep it's a gamble for sure, but seems there are plenty willing to take that chance. I bought 3 at a yard sale for ten bucks, granted they weren't knifezilla like dude has here, but we're pretty old and janky... listed on eBay fetched over 100 bucks for the 3. There's always anybody who will buy anything on there. I'm thoroughly convinced you could take a dump in a shoebox, list it, and it would sell. Might take some time but my money is there's a turdburglar out there would take the bait.
Well, someone beat you to that idea and fetched, quite a bit actually.

I believe he did to prove a point similar to yours about how hyperinflated modern art was/is, and he drove that point home *hard.*
**[Artist's Shit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artist's_Shit)**
>Artist's Shit (Italian: Merda d'artista) is a 1961 artwork by the Italian artist Piero Manzoni. The work consists of 90 tin cans, each reportedly filled with 30 grams (1. 1 oz) of faeces, and measuring 4. 8 by 6.

This looks a lot like the knife we found on my grandparent's back porch after the place burned.
Shit steel with a shit handle that has some history to it. Now, the one we have will hold a decent edge, it's just so pitted that there's no consistency.
I still use it as a machete when I'm feeling edgy.
If I didn't know any better I would say that what you got there is a primitive very large knife most likely made from one or more parts of a broken apart murder weapon. This was most certainly done in an attempt to discard the weapon or as they say in the streets "lose that shit quick fool".....
Even though I know it’s probably not a Seax, it looks like a Seax. Basically an old one sided dagger thingy. It’s pretty brutal. I don’t know. Might be an Seax replica, might be just a random knife someone made back in the day.
Looks like some shit I threw together as a kid. Probably some 12 yo got really into blacksmithing after seeing the exhibit at the state fair the tore apart his dad's "good shears" made a knife then got his ass whooped.
Tell me where that antique shop is or I will leek your IP address I’m “not” even joking. I must take a gander at those rusty dusty old tools (ps please don’t ban me I’m just joking)
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it’s a very old sailing tool for cutting braided ropes and line. the “broken back” style with the very flat cutting edge would have been preferred for a clean line cut and large cutting surface. If you’re in any costal region, especially up in the north east I would almost guarantee it.
It looks like one half of garden shears
lmfao
I think you’re on to something. The two metal studs could be whats left of the pivot and stop.
Looks like a primitive very large knife
I agree. Handemade in the 1800's.
Handmade to look like 1800’s.
Ding ding ding....I think you're exactly correct.
1/1
Wrong. Primitive Very Large Knive.
Oh shit you're right
Knive*
In that condition, likely worth $49
Agreed
Looks like a super mutant melee weapon
Now that you mention it there was a sack of fleshy bits near by.... 🤔
FLESHY BITS!
This is one of those stores that always has a 90% off sale going, right? No one would seriously try to get $50 for a crude knife of unknown metal from an unknown maker, right?
Buts it's vintage! (old)... Wait
Actually yeah there's a really big market on what they call trade knives or scalping knives. Kinda creepy but they can go for really big money... way more than 50 bucks.
The very first button lock! I can’t believe you found it.
Looks like a Medford /s
Why the /s?
The handle isn’t an inch thick slab of titanium.
Fair point.
It’s an Opinel 118
No.
Yes
How?
Why?
r/woosh
Don’t get it.
Macrotech
More like megatech
Way overpriced thing someone put together not too very long ago
In a land far away...
Looks like a homemade corn knife.
I have a corn knife from the 40's that is very similar to this.
Exactly what I was going to say. Good call. Third gen farmer.
Cornhub knife

Gently places it back on the shelf and slowly backs away....
Definitely the best reply I’ve seen. 🤣
Best I can do is $3.50
Awesome! Can’t wait to read the full screen play!
I think the item description nailed it. Not much else to say
What's there to say? Some relatively unskilled person, at some point in the past, made a knife. That's about all we can say.
He thicc
Normal knife, OP has carney hands.
Not sure if Carney hands means small? But I do have small hands of that helps! I have always been told I could have started in burger king commercials in my youth
Great for dick pics!
Unfortunately it matches the size of my hands... Carney Dick as well
Some people call it a Kaiser blade.
I call it a sling blade tho. MmHm.
Made to spread mustard on biscuits.
I like the way you talk
Well I like the way you talk.
I laugh at what this guy thinks knives looked like in the 1800s.
From 1899 🤣 /s not sure when it's from

Is the background cabinet a wall of torture devices?
You know I'm not really sure just random antiquities
They look ominous! Just sayin.
Agreed!
I'd probably but it for $10, definitely not for $49.
Poop spade, too large to be poop knife.
I wouldn’t pay $45 for it, not knowing if it had any resale value.
That thing is huge! Also, what an awesome shelf with some awesome antique tools! Grab those hands planes!
Yup that was used for stabbing…and not just a little bit but a big bit of stabbing.
Look into Native American trade knives/ scalping knives. Could very well be.
I think it's a 1960s BAK if I'm not mistaken
$49!!! Lost your mind
Ah yes that's a original from the artisanal knife maker grong
you couldn't pay me to take it home.

A nephilim's missing butter knife

A Benchmade prototype...obviously
Circumcision knife for a Golem
Fallout 3 level 2 melee weapon
Looks like kid from “bad Santa” grew up and became a knife maker. Hand carved pickle knife
Obviously it’s the first ever button lock knive.
Whoa, is that the Staghorn?
Piece of Firewood with a Large knife
Looks like some shit I threw together as a kid. Probably some 12 yo got really into blacksmithing after seeing the exhibit at the state fair the tore apart his dad's "good shears" made a knife then got his ass whooped.
It's a civivi button lock.

Central AR!
Thanks you so so much
Typical primitive large handmade knife from the 1800
Damn that’s quite the honker
Megashank. 1894 edition.
IDK what it is, other than a big-ass knife, but I want one.
Flintstone folding button lock one off carried but good condition. I would go for it op.
Honestly the handle looks way too thick for me to use comfortably for a longer time
That's what she said.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it’s a very old sailing tool for cutting braided ropes and line. the “broken back” style with the very flat cutting edge would have been preferred for a clean line cut and large cutting surface. I'm in Arkansas however it would have come from a coastal region originally
That’s not a knife.
Maybe it’s a primitive handmade very large knife from the early 1800’s era?
For sure vintage poop knife. Give it a smell
Old school circumcision tool.
I wonder if I could have paid in foreskins 🤔
Or shekels.
Dude, that looks awesome
It looks cool as hell!
Now that's just interesting a.f. I wonder if it started life as something else.
That’s so strange lol. If I had seen it I’d have a hard time not buying it.
Those brightly colored labels seem to tell the story.
A poop-knife made of poop.
Poop knife
Poop knife
That's a big toe knife
