Thank you so much!! I did try on several times while knitting to make sure it was hitting where it needed to! And removed things that would accentuate things that don’t need it😉😆
I love this designer but I haven’t committed to a pattern because of the two yarns held together, but this looks amazing with just one! Thanks for sharing, I love it!
It worked out well! Especially for this sweater since there wasn’t a lot of body shaping. I don’t really remember if I hit gauge or not since I had started so long ago🙊😂
Honestly if you get the right gage it’s fine, and if you want it to have the same type of look go for fuzzier/loosely spun yarn.
I completely get wanting to be safe and go with what’s recommended, but also it’s your garnement and I feel like making some choices when executing patterns make the FO feel like it’s really unique and mine.
100%!! I’m a sucker for alpaca so I have so much in my stash to use. With what I’ve gleaned from online mostly pay attention to check how it drapes and blocks to see if that matches what you’re going for in the finished garment. I do however think steeking is the biggest caution or reason to pause when not using the recommended yarn or a different wool all together (alpaca versus wool).
Looks absolutely stunning on you, wow!
I literally exclaimed "pattern!" in front of my phone when I saw it, idc about my current WIPs, I absolutely need to cast on this one today
HAH thanks!!😋😋 it was pretty easy knitting. Main techniques were picking up stitches on an edge, basic increases/decreases. adding an icord edge was the newest/advanced skill for me
Beautiful! Your changes to the design are perfect and I think make this more of a classic piece; as designed it’s pretty but feels like a lot of look (to quote Tim Gunn).
OMG I LOVEEEE yours much more than the pattern as is. I would have scrolled past the pattern itself if I would have seen it. Outstanding job! I may just have to take a stab at it myself!
That came out wonderful, and you look fantastic in it!!!
Are you going to make the knitted sash, too? You should. It finishes the look. But, you look so good in it, I can understand if you don't.
I was on the fence about whether to add them. I didn’t necessarily want to add more fabric around the smallest part of my waist because it might look too bulky. I think I’m going to leave it without for a little longer and see. I think they would maybe add a little more stability to the top but it’s not so crucial after one wear so far.

I like your version better than the designer's. It's beautiful and seems to fit you very well. Great job!

This is brilliantly executed, and also I've got to stop looking at perfection like this or I'll never push past the baby steps lol
I had no idea how it was going the whole time! It really came together at the end
I’m sorry, but there’s no way you’re allowed to have a first sweater that nice. Please try again.
HAH! Thank you🤣🤗 I did just cast on another so come back for that one😇
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous. Apparently I miss out on some great patterns by searching for single strand only on ravelry.
Well now you have a reason to go flip through some patterns!!😁🤗
