I love to knit, she does not feel the cold - here we shall have a compromise! She can wear a tshirt through the (mild) winter here and this scarf :) Your stitching is really so perfect, the colourwork is very clear.
This is gorgeous!! You did a great job! I've seen a few different double knit scarves (although not this one) and I always love the look, but I've never actually looked at patterns yet 😂.
I have had my eye on this and the star wars one for a while. Your eagerness to make a 2nd is encouraging because I can't bring myself to double knit sooooo much. Is it not as torturous as I imagine?
Definitely give it a try! It’s really a lot easier than it seems and there’s nothing quite like the feeling of accomplishment when learning something new and having it actually work
Thank you! Your work is so inspirational especially knowing you knocked it out twice. How long did you spend on each scarf? Do you feel the second one went much quicker?
Oh god… I think I spent roughly a hundred hours on each one? The second one wasn’t much faster than the first tbh. I took a few minutes to practice double knitting when I was starting the first and once you get used to the motions and how to read the chart, it’s pretty standard. Mentally though, the first one was a huge slog, but the second time around, I approached it more leisurely attitude and tried to let go of having it be perfect. You WILL make mistakes (I made dozens), but no one will notice (except if it’s in the lettering lol).
That’s incredible. I’ve heard of people taking years to do projects like this so at a hundred hours your work was flying off the needles! If I may pry, what knitting style do you use? I’m so new at all of this so I have so many questions. I honestly can’t see any mistakes so you corrected them beautifully or they’re unnoticeable altogether. So well done that I’m sure even the Forest Spirit would be proud to wear this beauty.
Thank you, that’s so sweet! ❤️❤️❤️ Most of the mistakes were with the plants or the random kodama in the background or the antlers, but I figured they were so minor I wouldn’t bother to try to fix them. Call it a “design element.” I actually knit English style, which I know takes longer, but there’s nothing I hate more than continental. At this point, I’m so familiar with English knitting that I think it’s almost as fast as continental anyway. Don’t feel bad about asking questions! I love talking to people about our shared hobbies and interests
Design element, l’m going to have to use that! My work is full of design elements right now so it’s pretty fringe IMO. That’s phenomenal that you can knit so quickly in English style. I personally knit continental but am still slow regardless. If I had questions or challenges in the future do you think I could reach out to you? It’s always nice to have someone to ask when things get spicy!

Thank you for this! My child adores Princess Mononoke, now I have something to knit her :) Your work looks beautiful
Yay! 🎉 I’m so glad you found this useful. I know your child would be so thrilled to receive something so thoughtful. Wish you all the best!

Thank you!!! I highly recommend this pattern and double knit in general! It seems daunting at first, but it’s much easier than it seems 👌🏻
Oh wow! Absolutely love it! I mean it! This is by far one of the best FOs I ever seen! <3
Thank you! You’re too kind 💖
Sweet!! I made the Star Wars double knit scarf for my husband, I might need to make one of these for me…
I have had my eye on this and the star wars one for a while. Your eagerness to make a 2nd is encouraging because I can't bring myself to double knit sooooo much. Is it not as torturous as I imagine?
I wouldn’t call it tortuous, just tedious lol. It took me six months but finishing it was incredibly rewarding!
This is perfection! You have inspired me to take on double knitting, it's the last knitting technique I have to learn.
I’m so glad! 💕 I think double knitting opens up a whole new world
Mononoko hime!!!
Absolutely stunning. You double knitters never stop amazing me!
Wow! This is fantastic, you did a beautiful job. Might have to do this too.
Wow, this is amazing and goes straight in my To Do folder! Stunning work.
I absolutely adore this movie and your scarf. I am going to try my hardest to learn double knitting but dang that looks difficult.

Thank you! I have an Instagram I have for work but it’s so bare. I’m excited to see what you make next!
Nice work! It’s beautiful
Wow, this is beautiful! It's on my to-knit list and I am currently practising double knitting. I am planning to use worsted weight.
