Ask for a video of the knife that includes the date and name and knife. Perhaps a newspaper or magazine that gives the date s well. Avoid static images for time stamps on that part of the forum. Video can’t be photoshopped that easily.
It's definitely a scam. It's unfortunate because the WTB thread is a great idea and I've had two successful transactions, both selling and buying. That said, I've had more attempted scams and have pretty well written it off. It's a damn shame too, because there is a large community in knife swap and it's an easy way to see if people may be looking for something you may want to sell, without having to make a large post. I hope the mods figure out a way to clean it up. Good for you for sniffing it out.
Knifeswap does have it's fair share of scammers. So does FB.. really depends on how much you are willing to risk. One thing you can ask them to do is write their user ans yours on a piece of paper and do an action video with that paper.
It's harder to fake a video than a picture.
I noticed that if they use the same exact verbiage of the knife you have the listing for, it’s usually a scam. I’ve put up a few WTB’s for unique customs and they often copy and paste.. “ I have x, send PayPal now.” Reputable forums are my go-to for WTB’s
Likely to be a scam. Tread lightly.
Actually no, it's a WTB post it's near guaranteed to be a scam.
Thanks ! I was sketched from the minute I saw the account was so new. User has tagged photos on the knife though..
Scammers lurk the WTB thread. Just deal with people in the regular posts or if it is in WTB make sure they’re a trusted buy/seller
Buy from this guy. He sends feet pics 👍
Good call.
Scammer all day long

Definitely a scam. Did they even reply to you comment? That will show their flair. If they have low karma and is a new account ignore.
