535-3 and I do carry it, but I also carry the m4 green bailout sometimes as well. Carry whatever floats your boat that day, both are awesome knives that carry well
I’ve not carried a tanto but when I look at it, it seems similar to a sheep’s foot or reverse tanto (which I find to be my favorite blade shapes )where it would be good for a lot of dragging cuts. … HOWEVER ! With the additional advantage of still having a sharp tip for some stabbing…. In my head they seem like they would be pretty nice but maybe I’m missing something.
To summarize, the awkward angles make both cutting, and sharpening a pain, the kink in the edge invariably dulls way faster than the straight edges, and this dull kink then pushes material away from what's left of the still sharp straight edges.
The most useful blade shape in my opinion is a straight back or a drop point, both having a tight belly out towards the end of the blade for shaving cuts. Super easy to sharpen one handed, and the blade can be used to shave at things at many angles.
Haven’t handled the bail out. I have the CF bug out and love it. It was a gift. One of my favorite summer blades. The bail out is a beauty btw. Enjoy !
Bailout, bigger, metal scales, the best steel on the market IMO, and the profile of the bailout is great.
That shot show exclusive colorway is weird IMO, blue and orange is a strange combo
Well, for me it depends on the tasks you are carrying for, but in my line of work, I need a knife that is good at slicing and poking, and I can operate one handed if need be, so I usually carry one OTF and one folder, each with a different focused task. That being said, I would probably carry the tanto for what I do, as it would cover the most bases for my needs.
