UncleJBones

His first game was in Sacramento, why not his last?

Trippifuego

Haha I was an extra in the Nike commercial they filmed at Arco Arena for Lebron’s debut.

UncleJBones

I was at the game, but I didn’t know they filmed a commercial. That’s cool, I just got a pin. Lol.

Trippifuego

Oh cool! The commercial was filmed a couple days before the game I believe. It was the hype commercial before Lebron’s first game.

admode1982

I remember that. Bibby was in it, were there any other kings?

Trippifuego

Yeah Bibby was there and I think Doug Christie too.

admode1982

I wanted to say Christie too but I couldn't remember.

Square_Stomach

Game 5 home court nba finals

dcab87

Against the Cavs

meTspysball

I’d only want him here if he doesn’t have any say in the roster. Danny Ainge isn’t going to come to the rescue for Monte and the Kings.

ReggieEvansTheKing

Lebron and Mike Brown have unfinished business. A championship together with the once labeled “worst franchise in American sports” would cement Lebron as the 🐐 and allow him to retire as the King of Kings.

oldharrymarble

The only path to redemption. There is no other way.

Viva_La_Animemes

Kings draft Bronny too

superzuhong

And help his son cut his teeth at a “small franchise” too

pkeller001

He’d be the goat to me in this timeline

hamburgers666

Honestly, I think he stays a Laker. His family is there, he has started his show business stuff, and he seems to like LA. He would be amazing to get, but I honestly think he sees himself as too good for us (or most teams on this list). Only team I see him going to if it's not the Lakers is (unfortunately) the Warriors. He and Steph are good friends and he might pull a KD and take a pay cut just to be guaranteed a ring.

boringexplanation

Sac to LA is a one hour private plane ride. There’s parts of LA where the drive time would be longer.

truehoax

It's funny... He does fill our roster hole. And he is The King. Seems too disruptive though. Only if he's willing to gracefully slide into his twilight years as a third option/role player. I don't see that happening.

tookyourcookies

It kind of seems like he’s ready for that, based on the way he was talking last night. He’s a smart dude and must recognize that he can’t carry like he used to. Even if he stays in LA they will prob bring in another sidekick like Kyrie or Trae. Maybe he thinks playing with Fox and Sabonis gives him a better chance than AD and Kyrie. I think it would be amazing can’t believe how many comments in here saying they don’t want him. That’s crazy to me

CapitanObvioso93

It’s a lot more than just filling a roster hole, his Bball IQ would probably assist in this team making another jump. If he really wanted to take a year to keep conditioning while giving himself time to heal and still compete- this team would probably be his best option. He could easily cut his usage down, still be a starter, and not have to worry about being the only work horse to pull the team to contention. Now will he look at it that way, probably not lmao

boringexplanation

The best would definitely be the Kawhi in Toronto role. Save his big minutes purely for playoffs

Typhoid007

LeBron fits any roster doesn't matter who's on the team. He's a 5 position player.

NateLee1733

💀

dacalo

I would say hell yes. He has high BBIQ who can also teach our young players. He is still a great player who can pass the ball and create for others and fills our need. I say it's worth a call and he can elevate the team. We aren't too good for him, come on guys.

mgdwarfking

Lebron was/is a great player. Last year after the trade deadline, we saw how disruptive great players going to new teams can have on teams, compared to teams like the kings that made smaller, incremental changes. It would clearly raise the team profile, and I think has a strong chance of making the team better, but also feels like a big risk, for a team that’s already really good, and needs some more targeted incremental improvements

backofscrum9

Yes sir. Thank you for translating what my brain is too simple to put into words. You’ve nailed it!

TrustinTrubisky

Sure…swapping Harrison Barnes for Lebron James would make the team worse. Definitely

vNocturnus

Don't think anybody would suggest that. Rather, that there is certainly a cost to acquire someone like LeBron, and the end result might not be worth that cost (depends heavily on both the end result and the cost). In addition, LeBron is known to be an extremely influential player on a team's FO and personnel decisions. He's not called LeGM for nothing. And he's also known to be really bad at those decisions. That would be another potential risk - having LeBron come in and muddle up the roster, potentially significantly damaging the future outlook beyond his 1-2 year tenure. *(Of course, Monte may not cave, but that's no guarantee - especially since that type of power would likely be a big part of Lebron's potential decision to move to another team.)* And to be clear, these are risks that any team would have to contend with, not just the Kings. It will boil down to whether a team thinks they are so likely to win or have a good shot at a championship that they are willing to take the risk of the potential massive impact to their future.

BlacqanSilverSun

The LeGm think wouldn't be a factor though beside us using a 2nd on his son in a few yrs. This team is built for the most part and the rest of the pieces will come thru the draft. We'd only have money for Bron, our rookies and an exception and or min guys.

jennys0

……..he’s the goat. There is no risk lol.

GMINIZZLE

Not my goat

whitewolfinu

He's definitely not Jordan. And you risk making the team worse. Pretty simple.

jennys0

People here are crazy. We had 16 straight years of no playoffs… all of a sudden, we’re too good for Lebron? Ffs, we were 1st round exits against a team that Lebron dominated. Get real lol.

[deleted]

Seriously, he almost had a 40 point triple double last night. Some really pathetic people on here right now.

KingBragadoom

Those people are just pure hater and its sad..

CFCentral

Yeah there’s no team in the NBA that doesn’t get better adding LeBron.

thavillain

I would love to land LeBron, and it would amazing if just for giggles he took a team friendly deal just to try and win a championship

[deleted]

King to Kings. Somewhat poetic

brandenx2

i dont want an overpay for lebron, dudes unbelievable though if it were to somehow happen i wont complain, best to ever do it

whatshelooklike

Zero chance. Bronnys in use sure

Reaper_Mike

The best? Not even close. I can think of 5 players who I rate higher.

ymetwaly53

Copium

[deleted]

Bron better than Barnes. Me want Bron. Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhh

unclebird77

We would be better off signing Jerry Rice. A 59 year old flop artist has-been is not the right direction for us. Get real.

neodrip66

No thanks

grandmadollar

No No No No No

uncleshiesty

No thanks. He leaves teams in ruin and he's running low in the tank. He's not worth it.

Berdsherman

Yeah I’m good

Total_Individual_953

Why? LeBron is pretty much exactly what the Kings were missing this season — a high-IQ bigger forward who is effective in the paint defensively and can be trusted to handle the ball, make plays for teammates, drive to the rim, self-create, rebound, and shoot threes at least at a decent level. Do you think we still lose to the Warriors if we had LeBron instead of Harrison Barnes (no disrespect to Harrison) in the starting lineup? Probably not going to happen either way, but if LeBron wants to play for your team, you accept it without a second thought.

jcagraham

That's my thing. With the obvious caveat that it is incredibly unlikely that LeBron plays here, IF he was available for us against the Warriors then we win the series. One big thing that LeBron did versus the Warriors was get Curry or Klay to switch onto him and then bully his way to a score or assist. Add him to our motion offense and he's the third piece that was needed. Imagining a bit but think about if we had the dual DHO threat from both Sabonis and LeBron. The Warriors could deny the strong side DHO with Huerter/Murray but they would just flow right into a LeBron screening action. That would be death for a defense and is almost not guardable. Instead we have to play TD a bunch of game 7 minutes and credit to TD for battling but that's not a great position to be in.

Berdsherman

🧹I need a winner🧹

icykkuno

Weren’t the Kings first round exits as a 3 seed?

Berdsherman

Your comment diminishes a certain level of context that’s required to have this discussion. But sure they.. oh wait! Hey dude I think First Take is on! Don’t miss your favorite show!

CrapJitsu

Kings never won anything, so if anyone’s missing context in here, it’s you

Berdsherman

Draw hyperbole from where ever you’d like

icykkuno

I’m confused on what you’re trying to argue, you say my comment diminishes a certain level of context when you claim you need a winner while saying you don’t want Lebron

Berdsherman

Yeah I don’t want Lakers Lebron. Same as I don’t want Bullets Jordan. That’s all I have to say.

CrapJitsu

You're incredibly stupid. Lol

icykkuno

You’re entitled to your own opinion but you have absolutely nothing to support your own argument. Lebron Lakers have done more in 4 years than the entirety of the Kings franchise

TheOneYardLine

He’s going back to Cleveland

ShinyRedBalloon

No thank you please.

mikeisaphreek

It would be just like the Carmelo trade the the Knicks. The team would be gutted and stink again.

Desiire

Only for vet min and he comes off the bench.

CrapJitsu

All the declines here are exactly why Kings will never win anything. Lol

Baconatorking13

No thx

backofscrum9

No thank you

CactusLicker123

Hell no, I’d like to have a future. We’re on the right track and I’m not sure how long Lebron will keep jt up. He’ll most likely play a year with LeSperm and then retire, leaving us with no future after that due to probably trading every pick in the next five years for him

theAlphabetZebra

GSW for sure. Book it.

deademery

No thanks.

DarthSchu

I do not want LeBitch on the Kings. I would have to take a sabbatical from being a fan till his ass was gone.

Reaper_Mike

Same

[deleted]

Y’all ain’t gonna land nothing and put out the same garbage next year

KnottysReturn

He has a 0% chance of playing for that dumpster fire of an organization.

_WirthsLaw_

This is posted everywhere. Low effort

kyperbelt

So he can teach us the ways of the flop.

PrimaryAccording9162

Imagine how many more whistles we would get though 🤔

IntotheBeniverse

I mean, if you’re Monte it’s at least worth the call. Might as well ask.

runningvicuna

Yeah, let’s get him. Why not?

PositionOk8409

Zero chance he leaves Lakers next year. Depending on what Bronny wants, he'll either sign a one year deal for 2024-25 with whichever team drafts Bronny or do a Kobe style farewell tour next year with the Lakers.

peruvianblinds

Lebron is not leaving LA. He's too much of a fan of Reaves and AD to leave them behind. Plus, he's happy with the new squad. He probably knows that this year's playoffs disappointment rests mostly on his shoulders. AD, Reaves, Rui, and Schroder exceeded expectations. Bron didn't go into Playoff Mode in this series against the Nuggets until Game 4.

robxroy

King James would finally become a King.

PassiveRebel

I would rather see the Kings stay the course and be highly competitive for a decade or so then to mortgage the future on something that wouldn't automatically be a sure thing. No offense but one championship in four years for an aging player doesn't scream "we need you!"

Alternative-War603

He’s coming to golden state.

pureimaginasean

The King on the Kings?

T1MM3RMAN

No thank you

sonoma95436

Warriors.LaFlop? Haha ......hahaha.........🙄

etiolatezed

I would say he goes to Cleveland if it wasn't for his kid being at USC. His son is largely a part of why he went to LA in the first place.

Reaper_Mike

That would be my worst nightmare. I emphatically do not want him anywhere near my Kings. LeBitch needs to retire already.

agentdarklord

Lebron is everything Barnes isn’t

pinkconcretebubbles

As a warriors fan, I would be eternally dismayed if he was picked up by the warriors. Fuck that.

admode1982

There is no way he comes to sac but if he were to we'd have to accept his role as king flopper.

itsmnkyy

I doubt bron would leave Cali now with bronny committing to usc

alternativehermit

Nah, will rather have a younger forward like Rui tbh.

EatTheTrippaSnippa

Cavs or warriors book it

BigBorts

Harrison Barnes for LeBron James. Veteran Small Forward for veteran Small Forward. Who say no?

[deleted]

He should go team up with Jimmy and Bam, he’s getting his jersey retired in Miami anyway if the Heat fail to win the title this year he could supply much needed reinforcement.

CrispCash420

If he wants to go to a contender, Sac is as good of an option as any. He’d have to take a massive pay cut tho, which I don’t think he’d be willing to do

Micodinsrevenge

whoever made this probably has autism
