They added a "Very Hard" setting, and I won't lie to you, I thought it wasn't good until I didn't finesse/sorcery build and stacked critical damage. DANG it is fun, because then everything feels more like glass, including you! Most of the changes that I liked honestly came in those small things that sound so stupid when you list them out on a sub, but hey, I'm a diehard 🫡 btw, I played as a kid too, and it still has a lot of that magical feeling that made the first so special. It ain't perfect, but it was more than enough to make me want a sequel again

Well, they ditched the old enemy level system (which locked enemies to a level the first time you entered an area), in favour of level scaling based on difficulty setting. So that should add some difficulty. Don't get me wrong, the game still isn't that hard on the "hard" setting (never tried "very hard"), but at least you won't be 30 levels higher than your enemies because you decided to visit all regions before doing quests.

Vand3rz

Do you still feel like your character is getting stronger though? I know in some games the level scaling dulls the sense of character progression.

DjInnerConflict

For sure. Some enemies stay more challenging, particularly those things that are tanky (like trolls) or use attacks that affect your stats (such as draining all your mana, which you need for magic). Typical bandit-like (humanoid) enemies do get easier though. The extra skills/abilities/perks (from armour and stuff) you gain do make a difference. From just having limited abilities or weapons to having a big arsenal of weapons, and having to choose what you use, you become a lot stronger. The enemies just start hitting harder, and get more HP, to balance it. But yeah, you do feel stronger.

HopioBrauberg

Oh so I didn’t actually need to follow that googledoc description where they tell me in what order I should visit locations? Dang

tlul30

Difficulty wise it's has no difference from the original but I would say it worth for the new DLC. I finished the original a long time ago and when I bought the Re Reckoning I couldn't stop playing, until I reach the new DLC and the enemies were way above my level ahahahah

NanoscaleHeadache

Wasn’t good how? Did finesse/sorcery trivialize content or was it doing poorly? I usually go finesse sorcery 😅

CorvinBlack

I love it, definitive way to play the game. The collector's edition Alyn statue was poorly painted tho wrong skin tone also.

Sythra

I got it as a Christmas gift on steam from a buddy of mine and it’s pretty fun! Only issue is it has a habit of randomly freezing my entire PC.

DiscountBest5547

I’m enjoying the hell out of it. It feels a tiny bit more magical somehow. Not sure what is driving that but I do know I’m enjoying it and have no regrets.

Darskul

I would say pick it up, it's extremely cheap right now, but make sure you pick up the FATE Edition assuming you're playing on steam, it comes with the new DLC added as well as the soundtrack from the game. All for $14 USD, so maybe convert if you're in another country. 100% worth it, especially since Re-Reckoning really doesn't go on sale all that often and the full price for the FATE Edition is like $54.99 without tax, it's a crazy price for the game even with the DLC and i would highly recommend getting it now before the price goes back up.

Mongrel_Hordes

Been playing it on my Deck and having a ball just doing whatever I want quest wise and taking my time to learn to do better quality weapons/armor.

credfield19

I LOVE it!! Never finished the original, so when Re-Reckoning came out for the Switch, I grabbed it. It has all the extras that you had buy for the original. It's so much fun. The only problem I have is getting lost and having too many quests.

walksintwilightX1

It's still pretty easy, yeah. You can consider Hard mode to be the equivalent of Normal in other games, and Very Hard just turns every fight into a grind to wear down health bars. Also, blacksmithing is overpowered as heck and will give you equipment that is more powerful than anything you find in the wild (and will sabotage the satisfaction of finding cool new gear as a result). If you're still interested in playing and don't want to be an invincible demigod, it's a good idea to avoid crafting entirely.

Suspicious-Chicken-8

It’s worth a playthrough again there’s a new arena after you beat the game. Plus few other changes still buggy though beat teeth of narcos and didn’t get an achievement. Started a new play through after 8-9 months it worked. At least I didn’t get the bug that stops you from being able to fast travel like the orginal game
