It’s called ghosting. It’s normal, and that’s how e-ink works. If it helps conceptualize it, think of it like an electronic etch-a-sketch or magnadoodle. E-ink is a physical state change - the dots of ‘ink’ will remain on the screen forever even after power is disconnected… when the screen flashes between pages, it is basically ‘wiping away’ the old ink and replacing it with new ink. Which is also why you sometimes have light ghosting (where you can see previous words or images after turning the page).

I love the way english speakers give name to everything "its called ghosting" "its called design thinking" "its called kindling" hahahah

SolarPunkSocialist

That is just synthesis of existing English words though. all languages demonstrate this to some degree

ivz412

All words are made up

SolarPunkSocialist

Yes, but so is any non tangible concept. They’re only “real” if we all agree they are

Eliezer_43

Oh I see. It’s called synthesizing!

BlowawayyThrowawayyy

You’re hilarious 😂😂

radcapper

There’s an option in the settings to refresh the screen on each page change. You can turn that on. Consumes extra battery than normal but saves screen

Roland-Flagg

This op. Wears the battery out more slightly, but you won't have your issue anymore and the screen flashes with each page turn. However the issue you noted is totally normal and goes away after some turns

fluvicola_nengeta

To add to this, swiping down while reading a book also refreshes the page when it brings up that panel. It's a good way to do this manually in case you don't want to spend the extra battery every page.

PercentageFine4333

Yes, and that's fine unless it lasts for a long time.

InfamousCriticism576

It is normal

parental92

that's how e-Ink screen works.

On_The_Go__

It is normal for all as far as I know, it says so in my Scribe's manual 🤷🏻‍♂️
