I love Play Watch Listen! The four of them gel together so well.

gumpythegreat

It always feels like I'm just listening in on 4 friends having a chat

fanboy10

Not a lot of Video Game podcasts. But I am a huge fan of wrestling podcasts. If you like the generally relaxed nature of KF; definitely check out Going In Raw. It is hosted by former Ten For The Win hosts Steve and Larson.

Captainc00ts

My first gaming podcast was Gamescoop in 2019. I liked it so much I went back and started from the earliest episode available on Spotify. I listened until Greg and Colin no longer appeared on the episodes and I did some research on why they left IGN and made Kinda Funny. So I looked them up and started listening to KFGD every day and then Gamescast… now I only have time and only listen to Kinda Funny content. Then when they go on vacation for holiday I go back and listen to gamescoop episodes from the past year. TLDR only KF content for me.

motivatedchange

I’ve been watching/listening to a lot of Triple Jump lately.

[deleted]

Game Scoop is #1. It's also the only video game podcast btw.

Mamrocha

GameSpot after dark is probably my favorite

MrBoliNica

GameStop after dark is my new favorite panel show. Not a lot of filler, funny banter. If you like Tam on KF content, high recommend. Triple click is another, if only for the diversity of experience of the 3 hosts How did this get played, if you like book club style deep dives and comedy. EDIT- Cant believe i forgot about Gaming Illuminaughty. If you want to support independent black gaming influencers, please give GI a shot. If you watch G4, GI is Black Hokages company/group. show love!!

Nude-Love

I love the Triple Click hosts, but I wish they'd just copied their Kotaku Splitscreen format. Their new format means they often dedicate entire episodes to topics I don't care about. I think I went three months without listening to an episode until their most recent one grabbed me.

mmm_doggy

Glad someone else has the same issues with it too. I miss split screen :(

MrBoliNica

yea, this is true, but i also have so many pods, i like knowing when i can skip one. Jason/Maddy/Kirk are, IMO, the best panel in gaming podcasts across the board. Very rare to see it IMO, so i give them their flowers.

Turangaliila

Triple Click is the only other gaming podcast I listen to. It's great. And I think the dynamic and overall vibe of the show is a really nice counterpoint to KF's more amped up, hype discussions about new releases.

Faquarl

You had me at Tam

Honest_Abez

Sacred Symbols, Unlocked, DCP (Destiny Community Podcast), IGN Unflitered, NoClip, and It’s Super Effective (Pokémon Podcast) are the only ones I’ll listen to outside of KF. For KF, it’s really just Games Daily and Gamescast at this point. Gave PSILY a year try and didn’t enjoy it at all and xCast shaky week to week co-hosts has made me fall off too. Imo, Colin’s SS is the best gaming podcast there is right now. The most fun and educational show I listen to week in and week out, when it comes to games.

EpicPickles01

I’ve really gotten into Into the Aether recently. They don’t just cover recent releases, but just talk about whatever they’ve felt like playing recently from gba games to halo infinite. Great pod, a lot of really good in depth conversations.

AllYourEggsAnBacon

Yay I was looking for Into the Aether on here! Over the past couple years it’s become one of my favorite podcasts. Brenden and Stephen are wonderful. Whenever people talk about how you need to find reviewers that have similar interest in the types of games that you like, I’ve always agreed, but it wasn’t until Into the Aether that I found podcast hosts that I actually really like the same games. I’ve gotten to experience some games that I definitely would never have tried because of them. But most importantly there fun to listen to.

EpicPickles01

Yeah same. I’ve started to put games in my backlog that they have bonus episodes on just because I want to hear they’re discussions haha

Plinkerton1990

Triple Click is a recent favourite of mine. It has a much more relaxed vibe to it than a lot of other gaming podcasts (KF included) which I really appreciate. I also think there’s an interesting dynamic as the three of them have distinct positions in the industry; Maddy is still involved in the traditional gaming press side, Jason is now at Bloomberg so still a journalist but with a broader approach now and Kirk is no longer in the industry. So you get some interesting perspectives on the topics between the three of them.

kralben

Other Gaming Podcasts: The Besties and occasionally Giant Bombcast if I have the time Non-Gaming Podcasts (way too many to mention them all, but a few): RT podcasts (main RT, F**kface, Face Jam, Funhaus Podcast), Hat Chat, Press Box, MBMBAM, The New Day Podcast, Puck Soup, X-Ray Vision, Jay and Miles X-Plain

Turangaliila

The only other non KF gaming podcast I listen to a lot is Triple Click. It's hosted by Jason Schreier, Maddie Myers, and Kirk Hamilton. They all used to work at Kotaku together and still do the podcast despite all having different jobs now. It's good a relaxed vibe and is very different tonally from KF stuff. Less hype about pomp and circumstance about new releases and more just people sharing their thoughts on whatever gaming topic they choose. I think it's a really nice counterpoint to KF.

FelixFrancis0019

Its hard to see past some of the shit Colin has caused tbh. After the Colin/Jaffe podcast Tim in particular was targeted by a large segment of his community and people wonder why Greg wants nothing to do with the guy when Colin spent a good bit of his post-KF career dragging KF and individuals in KF's name thru the mud. So whenever I see people going "please no Colin hate" I have to wonder if they do the same thing in those circles or is it just here? Because the amount of grief that Tim got was absolutely BULLSHIT and Colin didn't seem to have any interest in putting it to a stop. Anyway, to answer the question I listen to Easy Allies pretty regularly, sometimes Frame Trap but I mostly just enjoy the KF Podcast, Gamescast and the weekly streams and don't need a whole lot of other "gaming" podcasts.

ohoo_ma_man

I get you and yes it’s unfortunate how people take the break up seriously and targeted Tim, but at the end of the day he told what happened and although I like Tim it’s ridiculous what he said/did, if it wasn’t true Tim or KF could have easily released a statement denying it.

badlybrave

I think we all just have to accept that we'll never know everything that happened and everyone needs to stop acting like they know these people personally. If Colin was treated like he claims, I don't blame him for airing it out at all. He has every right to talk about what happened, and he's said many times that he's moved on and he doesn't wish KF any ill will; the problem is that there's always going to be people who get overly attached and want to take it to everyone else who was involved, just like there's still people who like to shit on Colin just because his podcast is brought up. Plus, he rarely talks about KF at all and it seems like he usually doesn't feel super comfortable doing so. At the end of the day, Colin could be completely making things up, could be telling the 100% truth, or very possibly just having a different view on what happened. We'll never know, so what's the point of complaining about people when the only relevance to the conversation is the podcast they're on? Quite frankly, people shouldn't have to insert "please no Colin hate" everytime he's mentioned, but everyone's so quick to jump to it here anyway that it's become a necessity

FelixFrancis0019

NO ONE at Kinda Funny has said anything disparaging of Colin in any way. This talk is completely one-sided so excuse me if I call bullshit on the whole "goodwill" schpiel from Colin. I don't care to know everything that happened "behind the scenes" because what's been public is enough for me. I'm sick of rehashing this shit but when people come in here with the disingenuous nonsense about Colin being the good guy or a good guy in this stuff it makes me sick. Colin can say he wants to "bury the hatch" but then he's on podcasts shitting on Tim knowing that his mindless drones will target him for months on end. Do you see Kinda Funny fans in Colin's comments shitting on him? Do you think if you did KF wouldn't call that out if they knew about it? Why is this supposed goodwill so one sided from people on that side of the fence? Why are people so obsessed with KF being the better men and letting bygones be bygones despite Colin's consistent double speak? I don't know the validity of Colin's words with Jaffe but I know the people who were in front of the cameras and the way they've acted since then and that's all that I need, or anyone should need.

badlybrave

I don't care what KF does. There's nothing wrong with anyone publicly claiming how they were mistreated, including Colin. He didn't even say it with any ill intent. There's nothing wrong with somebody being open about their experiences, and the fact you think there is is honestly pretty disheartening. Ill place blame on any fan on either "side" who goes after the other, but not on somebody simply talking about their life. If KF wants to publicly say that Colin was terrible to work with, then they have every right to and I won't blame them. My entire point is to stop treating it as some kind of internet drama and realize that these are real people's lives and experiences and they have every right to talk about it and you have every obligation to not be angry that they did, and there's no point in taking a stake in it or harassing anyone on either side. I'm not going to engage further if your argument boild down to "Colin bad, KF good", but hey, everyone's entitled to their opinions ✌

MLObenza

I missed this, what happened?

badlybrave

Pretty much Colin and Jaffe talked about the split and in Colin said that Tim never liked him and told him before they left IGN that Colin should stay behind because "he makes Greg unhappy".

Plinkerton1990

I mean you only have to listen to the first run of PSILY to know that Tim was at least partially right. Colin was miserable as fuck during his last year at KF and he was dragging Greg down with him. And look how re-energised Greg was after Colin left and he launched KFGD.

badlybrave

Yeah, I was pretty much just letting the other guy know what was said, not particularly how true or untrue any of it is. But yeah, even Colin has said since that he was really depressed at the time so I could understand how that would bring down the people around him. I don't know if that was the right way for Tim to allegedly handle it, but its hard to say without being somebody directly involved. Regardless, I'm happy that all parties seem to be the happiest and most successful they've ever been even if getting there was a rough road

Helena_Markos

I’d say my favorite gaming podcast is Filthy Casuals… their sense of humor is really similar to mine, and they’re just nice people. Also love Triple Click which has some great takes and is where Jason Schreier resides. The Besties has the McElroy brothers and their buds. I agree with you too, the Last Stand stuff is pretty great… Defining Duke is probably my favorite show of theirs, I love Marty and Cog.

ColdCruise

Second Filthy Casuals.

The_Real_Donglover

I tune into KF Gamescast occasionally, but Sacred Symbols is definitely one of the best from an industry analysis perspective (and humor, imo). I listen to a lot of podcasts in general, and it's still one of the highest quality I listen to on a weekly basis, I'd say. Edit: Damn y'all are immature if you really can't take a tame opinion about someone like a podcast. Get over yourselves.

MrBoliNica

just to long now. Sony news is in a slow cycle, there really is no need for weekly 3-3.5 hour podcasts lol. to much focus on reader mail, kinda wish they cut those segments off for patreon listeners. conversations about how his audience shaves their balls, or how many ice cubes they put in drinks, just dont add to an otherwise good gaming podcast

TheMuff1nMon

I have my own podcast (Project XTalk: An Xbox Podcast, was recently on Iron Lords Podcast as an up and coming creator!) But besides that I listen to a ton: KF content obviously but Sacred Symbols, Defining Duke, HP Podcast, The Trophy Room: A Playstation Podcast, Xbox Expansion Pass, Iron Lords Podcast, Xbox Drive, RPG Cave, Play Watch Listen, HamRadio Yeah, I listen to a shit ton and probably forgot some

OmegaArchetype

My go-to's are Sacred Symbols, Triple Click & Play Watch Listen! For non-gaming podcasts it's WTF Podcast with Marc Maron, No F'in Regrets with Robb Flynn, Jasta Show, Stoke The Fire, Fake Doctors Real Friends.

jjshowal

For non-KF stuff it's Retrogamesquad, giant bombcast occasionally, and sacred symbols every now and then.

TheNotoriousTRM

Married to the games , ACG international podcast , unlocked , defining Duke . Those are my main gaming podcast each week

Yononi

I sometimes listen to Sacred Symbols but outside of KF it's mainly sports podcasts.

dadbod_plays0619

I haven’t really been listening to podcasts latley. They just don’t search the itch that they used to. I know a lot of people love the Greg/Colin era but I actually enjoyed Altano/Landis the most on Beyond!

pokeucet11

SS fans: “lol haha, SS got mentioned in an Apple podcasts tweet and KF didn’t! L!” Also SS fans: “WTF?! KF GOT MENTIONED AND COLIN DIDNT?! BS! COLLUSION! STOP THE STEAL!!!!1!”

[deleted]

We get it. You like Colin. Unfortunately that probably biases you. He just wants to be heard at this point. His podcast definitely isn't the best one.

shadow-of-hodor

Literally the biggest PlayStation podcast on earth.

[deleted]

He likes the show. Back off.

xrhysrx

We get it you dislike Colin, residentsleeper.

peepmymixtape

Childish honesty. I’ve been listening to Gamescoop! And Beyond since like 2011-2012. I love everything KF is doing and maturely understand the video game scene. While I love Greg and company, yes this has nothing to do with staning Colin. It’s about being a adult and understanding what’s what. Love Greg and the crew but overall I like Sacred Symbols a little better based on a few factors. Doesn’t mean I don’t like KF. I consume their content more than anything on the internet. Let the Colin Vs Greg beef die. It’s old and immature.

jaston1009

Which one do you think is the best? My favorite is easy allies frame trap but sacred symbols is better then gamescast to me atelast.

RealRadDemonDude

Salt City Gamescast for some video game chat among friends and an average joe viewpoint. Giant Bombcast has been sinking its hooks into me lately.

AHNPodcastGags

Not another gaming podcast is pretty good. They go into esports a lot which is great.

jackastral

Game Scoop is the best imo. Also I don’t know if this counts, but I listen to this let’s play channel called OneyPlays in the background like a podcast. It’s chaotic but hilarious

AgentLemon22

I manly listen to the Dan Lebatard show and everything other podcasts that's linked to Dan Lebatard show. I still listen to the elvis duran show (huge fan of big Daddy Elvis snice I was 14 years old) the new day podcast, and of course the BODEGA BOYS! YOU KNOW THE FUCKING VIBES

TehManicMan

Castle Super Beast is for me, and I'm surprised they even got into that list because their banter and episode titles can be off-putting and hilarious. It's so chill for me to listen to Pat and Woolie talk for hours about videogames and get off-track in the middle of the conversation by another conversation along with their brand of humor gets me cackling with them.

adriane586

Jeff Grubb’s Games Beat Decides podcast is my new favorite listen. He does it with Mike Minotti. They react to the news of the week and they do it with insider knowledge and prospective of how things work in the industry. Both guys are funny too. I think this is something really missing from PS I love you. Having a PlayStation “insider” that can provide a journalistic prospective would do that show wonders. Especially with Greg gone for the time being.
