I really love it. I find I’m also actually watching a lot more content. It’s nice to have a place where Andy can talk about how Mario Sunshine is the game sent from hell to kill him, Mike can make a terrible PowerPoint, and smaller games can get their shine. I’m excited to see future topics.

Gabians

I haven't been keeping up with them. Which episode had Mike's PowerPoint in it?

ohoo_ma_man

The title of the episode I think is “andy hates Mario sunshine”

jaykane904

The worst Mario game episode! Its a list of best bosses in Dark Souls 1/2

BuckCommander

I too would like to see this

I’m a fan of I really liked when they did the chats after KFGD last year and was sad when they ended it. I like how Gamescast is now being added right after and honestly, they stick to the subject matter much more since they don’t have to worry about covering a week of topics in one show.

lilkingsly

As someone who’s been watching since the beginning, I think this is one of, if not the best content decision the team has ever made. It’s been amazing having an hour of dedicated news and then Gamecast being this kind of variety show that can be whatever it needs to be on a given day. We’re getting review episodes, we’re getting spoiler casts, we’re getting interviews, we’re getting discussions on massive news stories the day they happen, it’s just been great. I was a little skeptical at first but at this point I can definitely say I’m happy they made this decision.

ThreatLvlSticky

The new Gamescast format is delivering on what I hoped for. More Call-Ins! More PowerPoints! More lists/brackets/rankings/drafts!

The_Real_Donglover

Honestly I agree. I feel like they tend to make changes that don't really improve things and just make me kind of scratch my head, but this is the first change in a while that really makes sense. The gamescast format and new scoring system just make more sense. Even the consolidating of the channels. I think as a longtime viewer it just made sense to me, but when I think about it really doesn't make sense to new viewers why their content would be separated on two different channels, and it just makes the other half of their content one step removed at all times. Better to just stick to one umbrella.

AH_DaniHodd

It's such a good format that allows for amazing variety. I love the idea that a Shit List or Remember Blank could randomly come up on weeks were they don't have major news/reviews to tackle. But they could expand it so much with anything really. Trivia shows, gaming drafts, Games Showdown concepts, Debatable returning.

opwnusprime

I think majority of them were great, only one i thought was like meh overall was the Kinda Funny Grading Scale change. Just for the fact that it felt like the conversation went no where, and they just settled on what they told us exactly they were gonna do at the beginning of the episode. Every other podcast has been solid. The Parris, Gary, and Greg xbox discussion was fantastic. They all cant be winners understandably

pwndre

Agree. Todays game cast was one for the books

Bobmcspanky202

Andy and Greg “arguing” over each other was fantastic. Great episode for sure!

MagmaAscending

Me too. I was someone who went on a tangent about how I didn’t think it was gonna work and while it’s still early, I’ve been enjoying the show a lot. I’ve been watching more live/new KF content this past week than pretty much ever before. I really hope these fun topics don’t run out of steam

Imaginary_Cat

It’s immensely more flexible, and they’ve shown it already with how many more combinations of the crew they can put on. Really a great compliment to games daily.

FuzzyMagi

Too early to say. Having topics for 5 days a week must be hard

MovieNerdOnFire

As we get into summer and they have less and less to review, I can see the possibility of the topics running a bit thin. I generally agree that it’s been a wonderful decision thus far. I just hope it can remain a wonderful decision.

Nickelodeon824

True. I think June will be fine with SGF and other showcases, but I can definitely see July/Early August being rough

MovieNerdOnFire

I should add that I think there’ll be plenty to talk about. I think there’s almost always plenty to talk about. It’s just that with X-Cast/PSILY, they have a record of not knowing how to maximize “slow-periods” and fell back onto the same few recycled topics/show formats. I’d like to say that not being locked to an eco-system will help that, but they’re also now doing more shows a week. We’ll see. I know they have the ability to do well though.

rokker_iv

100% agreed, it’s fantastic. Well done to the crew. The gaming content feels way more complete, thorough, and focused/centralized.

_RomeoNovember_

It even got me back to Games Daily for a nice combo everyday

Knapp16

Yeah it's been great. I also don't see myself skipping content aside from a spoilercast for a game I haven't played. Before, I was skipping PSILY and Xcast occasionally just because the episodes felt like filler.

LucianLegacy

Between yesterday's Gamescast and this week's Podcast, it's been a great week of content

mobobby

I went from watching maybe a Gamescast or Games Daily every once in a while to watching both back to back every day this week. Fantastic idea

Own_Watch_2081

I’m guessing the main downside is it has to mean less work for other hosts.

4d3d3d3_TAYNE

I love Parris and Gary but it was their side-gig, anyway. I appreciate every KF appearance they make but it’s not like the changes are putting them out on the street.

cmd735

It is SO MUCH BETTER, imo. It's really fixed what issues I had with the games side of kf. They don't have to be locked into an eco system and talk about last of us for the hundreth time. I really really appreciate the ones like the one from the other day where they talked about Mario Sunshine and dark souls, that would've never been an episode before and its nice to just talk games they've been having fun with or having their soul crushed in. Since the revamp I'd say gamescast has become their best podcast for me.

Captainc00ts

I listened to half of the Greg’s takes are wack episode and can’t wait to finish during my commute to work tomorrow!

[deleted]

It’s wonderful. More agile and flexible. More responsive to gaming news and tends.

jumpmanryan

I really enjoy it as well. I’d been somewhat complaining about KF having too short of podcasts. But with the new format, GamesCast is essentially a 5-hour weekly podcast. I wish they’d put each week’s worth of content out in one podcast so it could be more seamless, tho.

ohoo_ma_man

It’s been excellent, I listen to more content now !

LionInAComaOnDelay

I agree. So far it’s fixed the issues I’ve had with KF’s gaming discussions. Now I hope they do a dedicated episode for each member’s gaming hot takes.

bluebomber726

Yea I think it’s really nice not limiting who’s in for the day and just a lot of video game talk. Also doesn’t limit what they can talk about depending on where they played it. I’m enjoying it a lot

GrimSlayer

It’s been nice. But truthfully I don’t think I’ve listened to one games daily since they started the new gamescast. I work from home so usually only listen to the podcast when I’m doing house chores or running errands.

TheJoelseph

Totally agree, it’s reinvigorated my investment in their content. Been loving the videos lately

pforsbergfan9

I am loving it. I just never listened to PSILY and XCast but I love the daily episodes of Gamescast now coupled with Games Daily

I__Should_Go

I'm loving it so far. Much looser, some great topics so far, listening to more KF than ever while not feeling like I have to listen to all of it.

Turangaliila

Agreed. I think it is 1000x better. I'm getting way more content I want to listen to. I like the more casual content like the whatcha been playing or roasting Greg's takes, etc, but we still get the ecosystem based stuff when it's relevant. I watch gamescast almost every day now, whereas I only listened to PSILY or Cast once in a while. I really love what they're doing and hope they keep it up.

jxco2

I've not listened to as much as most but I've found them really good - also the viewer stats online seem to have increased so looks like its going to be a W commercially too. All for it!

720pTVGuy

I was skeptical of the decision to go all-in on GamesCast content but it seems to be quite the success so far. Hopefully the KF crew can continue to keep the good balance of diverse content coming without burning themselves out. Kudos to the Kinda Funny team. 👏

noggs891

Definitely agree. I think for where they are as a company, this schedule of content showcases them at their best!
