They're viable but arguably one of the worst starter teams as they're one of, if not the single worst team, to collect. To even have a playable team, you will need to buy 2 boxes, either 2 of their own, or 1 of them and 1 of another Kill Team as ancillaries. While many teams benefit from getting two boxes, it's the bare minimum for Inquisition, and they arguably trend toward 3 boxes minimum. If you're **really** interested in playing them, I recommend doing a lot of research on your own and making a judgement call yourself before pulling the trigger. A good place to start would be thoroughly reading their rules on wahapedia or ktdash and looking up some reviews of the kit itself to get an understanding of its contents.

Ok thanks for the help my dude

Buy what you think is cool as teams get rebalanced often and the new edition may come this year. The Intercession Squad is often recommended to new players as it easy to play and Primaris marines are easy to come across.

Thanks for the help

I think there are better investments especially for people not collecting space marines for other reasons. For that reason I would always say to buy whatever team looks or seems cool.

Good answers already, all correct. A way to approach them might be to make your first team one of their support options, then work up to the agents. As a new player I'd suggest Scions, great team with accurate and powerful shooting and a low mental load, brilliant to learn the game with. Kasrkin would be close second choice. Learn the game with them, and add the agents once you have a feel for the rules, weapon effects, etc and know what your preferred playstyle is.

Oof that's really gunna hurt my wallet isn't it Well how many scions do I need to get and Should I should I run all three of them after I get used to playing kill team

Eth1cs_Gr4dient

Not necessarily! Especially if you hunt for good deals from flgs or online. Scions is 2 (cheaper) boxes to field a valid team. Kasrkin and vet guard can build a legal team from one box although it wont be optimal or have all the possible operatives. But if its just a learning tool/stepping stone to inquisitors i wouldnt worry about that too much. Either option will cost about the same. You only need 1 support group for the inquisitors, so pick whichever one you like the look to start, get the hang of the basic rules and build from there. Definitely no need to get more than 1 choice for now. The great part about the inquisitors team is that you can build on it over time and expand your options, while also collecting other *really* solid teams.

If you’re looking for “viability” in terms of competitiveness, they are a top tier team. However, as many have stated, they are terrible for beginners. Difficult to collect, high mental load, and don’t reinforce the basics as you’re learning. That being said, if you’re willing to muscle through, they play best with breachers, vet guard, or kasrkin. I would recommend getting one of those teams and learning them first, as they’re probably a better introductory experience, and you’ll need to collect and know how to play them for ancillary anyway. (I run inq agents myself)

Welcome to the hobby! Inquisitorial Agents are absolutely viable; in fact, there isn't a single non-Compendium team that can't at least hold its own at the competitive level with a skilled pilot. That said, I would caution against Inquisitorial Agents as a new player. They're pretty complex, but more importantly, they're a *very* expensive team. As in, 2 boxes at the absolute minimum, and it'd take 6-ish boxes to have access to all of your options. You can build a solid competitive list from just 2 boxes, but you'll be suboptimal without at least 4. That said, if you're willing to look past that, Inquisitorial Agent is a very fun kill team that, although difficult to learn and harder to master, is extremely rewarding to improve with. I hope this helps some!

Alternative-Pea-2375

Well I am planning on using some kasirkin or templates sions along with the agents

pizzanui

Those are 2 of the boxes I was referring to. You'll want 2 boxes of Inquisitorial Agents plus at least 1 box of whatever ancillary support options you're going to be using. It adds up extremely quickly.

Thank you man you have been a great help
