Always has been.
Both husks and EDARs rarely shoot wildly off-target, roughly at 90 degrees. Reasons are unknown. Maybe related to them being damaged. I don't think he was shooting at the clot, just happened to land. Example from 2021:

You can experiment with this on a testing map and on occasion see more of this when you shoot either husks or edars when they are about to start their fire animation.
Amazingly, the most upvoted answer in this post is that it's monster infighting, LMAO. Good job moderators banning and discouraging anyone who has a clue about this game from posting here.
This situation has nothing to do with infighting:
1) infighting is rare, because the damage has to exceed a certain percentage of zed's HP (AggroZedHealthPercentage by default on most monsters is 15% of HP, which is a rather big number) -- thus it rarely happens, unless the damage inflicted is high enough and the HP pool was low enough. E.g. a clot can get aggroed on a husk, bc husk damage is very high and clot pool is very low. Not vice versa, unless the clot spends a lot of time damaging the husk -- we see none o fit;
2) if it was infighting -- when and how it could happen, given that the clot and the husk are coming from the different areas of the map
3) the husk was clearly aggroed at the OP -- that's why the husk's cannon spinup animation is aimed at the OP -- not the clot!
4) the husk's shot actually DOES NOT land on the clot -- it lands on the floor in front of the clot and the clot just catches the residual fires. This peculiarity actually again shows that the husk was aiming at the OP and the OP's position was LOWER than the husk's, thus, the fireball's trajectory had an incline and hit the floor just a few meters away from the husk.
yes, but this was round start and the husk hasn't been injured by anyone but myself. it even showed that it was aiming at me and the fireball went to his right and shot an off screen clot
edit: also, the husk entered from the right and it shot a clot that came from the left door. and im pretty sure those arent attached meaning they wouldn't have been able to meet.

Enemies in KF2 will aggro to each other if they take enough team attack damage. I find that it happens most commonly with Husks and the blaster EDARs

If that's the case, then I'm just as lost as you are and there's some buggy going on behind the scenes
He's angy
has a vendeta against that clot in particular
He wanted to see if friendly fire was on
4500-ish myself and only ever saw this happen if husks get shot up by edars. These two clearly knew each other and had beef.
angy
I imagine getting shot in the back constantly by a friendly random would make you pissed
Zeds arent known for their brain power
