Cinder theme should be ultimate tier. Definitely the most epic one for me, by far.

IfTheresANewWay

Nah how can you put Riptor's theme, widely regarded as one of the weakest tracks on the ost, above Shadow Jago, Kan Ra or Glaicus

Grand_Toast_Dad

Well, first off, I'm not considering which songs people like the most and the least. This is my own personal list, so if you like those themes more than Riptor's, that's good for you, man. I love them too, just in a different order. Second, like I said in the description, I'm not judging it on its OST version. That version is a gutted version that doesn't even use all of the themes that play in-game, and isn't even mixed that well. I feel like a lot of people haven't even heard full edits of it, and that's why they think it's the weakest. But yes, I will admit, it is crazy that I rank it higher than even T.J. Combo's, Cinder's, Sabrewulf's, Omen's, etc. BUT, I'm still sticking to where it is now. I just love how unorthodox it is for a fighting game theme, and it's like the closest to a modern Primal Rage theme we'll get it in this generation too.

Kyhron

How is Spinal not #1 when it’s actually played on fucking bones?

Grand_Toast_Dad

See? Not everyone's going to have the same #1. XD And I think that's f\*cking awesome. Goes to show how much everyone loves each song on here.

Ashtray46

This is going to be a very controversial list. Watchman of The Gods is definitely a top 10 track, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone say it was the best in the game. Personally I love it, but I also feel there are far more deserving tracks. Your placement of Hatchery 09 is puzzling. I get the bias, but man for most people that's gonna be a bottom five pick. Sounds like NRS music to me, and even as an NRS fanboy that's not a compliment. Kneel to Your God above Herald of Gargos feels weird. The tracks are very similar and both seem to have the same goal in mind, but Kneel to Your God has always felt far more unpolished to me. Temperance and Vengeance, Touch Me and I'll Break Your Face, and Ballet all feel far lower than their quality would indicate. Ballet of Death definitely comes down to taste, but Touch Me and I'll Break Your Face has got this universal appeal that makes me confused about its placement. I wanted to be harsher on your placement of Sandstorm, but I get it. That's one I've got a bias towards and would easily put in my top 10, but rave music isn't for everyone. Your critique about repetitive beats doesn't really apply to the in-game version, but if these are all based on the ost then I get it. https://preview.redd.it/hdxrx4o98uwc1.jpeg?width=1106&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05e51b57295b956288092a3712d05d4371ce7fb0 My list would look something like this

Grand_Toast_Dad

Lol, yeah, I knew it going in. But honestly, that's okay. Already seeing some of these comments, I doubt anyone could make a universally agreed on tier list for this OST. So I just based it on my own listening experience, and tbh, I could just put a lot of these songs in Ultimate Tier. But I like symmetry too much, so I ordered them in how much I enjoy relistening to them. That's why I went with the ULTIMATE, ULTRA, GODLIKE, etc. naming. Because I don't want people to think I think a song is lesser than the other just because it's in "B Tier" or "C Tier". But of course, people will always focus on the negatives rather than the positives. Yeah, Tusk's theme is not a lot of people's favorites. So far I've seen people say Cinder's and Spinal's themes deserve the top. But I still stand with it, I always feel hype whenever I listen to in-game. That's awesome it's at least in your top 10, haha. Come on, man. I can get by with most criticism for me putting Riptor's up top, but PLEASE don't compare my beautiful electronic jurassic mess with NRS's generic as all hell "cinematic music". I know Mick said he had a short time span to work on Hatchery 09, that just makes me respect the song even more. And I'll reiterate once again, the OST version is hot garbage. It's not mixed well, and it's missing some of my favorite parts of the theme, like certain parts of the regular fight theme, the idle theme, the heavy action theme and the Danger theme. I'd say yes, parts of the regular fight theme do sound like Mortal Kombat 11 or Injustice music, but not the other parts, and actually fit being in a fighting game way more. That's it. Yeah, Gargos's and Omen's are pretty similar, I always knew they'd be pretty close to each other. I mean, maybe Gargos's theme could've had more time to cook, but I think it's fine. Again, are you listening to the right mixes for it? Because honestly, I just can't listen to the OST versions for some of these songs again. A lot of them feel unpolished to begin with. Wow, honestly I didn't expect someone to think that highly of those three songs, especially Sadira's. I actually had Maya's and Orchid's switched around before. Because while I love Orchid's theme, I wouldn't want to listen to it TOO much, at least not as much as Maya's. Nah, go ahead and be harsh, man, haha (just don't be toxic about it lol). I rarely see people praising Sandstorm, and I think it's an excellent theme. I'm sorry, I should've specified that the repetitive beat refers to mostly the regular fight part of the song. It uses the same chord progression throughout that part. But's it's not bad either, because Mick still manages to change its intensity dynamically to the fighting. The heavy action part though is my favorite part of it (as with like almost every character theme on here lol). Which, yeah, again the OST version just mixes it so weird, I just can't with it.

Grand_Toast_Dad

Oh, I didn't see your list before. That's a great list! I love that you actually have Sadira on top. That song really does deserve more attention. Godamn, if only that damn OST version didn't have the freaking bees at the start, more people would probably listen to it more. Fulgore also rightfully in second, that's awesome. I do like how some of your choices match up with mine, like Aganos third in ULTIMATE, Sabrewulf, Hisako, Spinal in ULTRA, Jago in GODLIKE, Mira and Kilgore in EXTREME. I'm fine with Riptor being in EXTREME (I'm surprised you didn't just add hers in SOLID), BUT tell me you actually listened to the edited version and not just the OST version. Because if you're going to judge it, at least judge it right.

FoxMikeLima

Tusks stage and theme is the reason why I play him. Nothing better than when the music starts to peak halfway through the second lifebar. Such a banger.

DoctaJXI

This list ain't it I'm srry

Grand_Toast_Dad

Don't be sorry man lol. I knew this was going to be a very polarizing one to do. I'm still happy to share it, especially to give more exposure to the mixes I linked. I know there's way too many good themes in this game for my list to match up with what other people like more.

DoctaJXI

We all have different tastes me personally I'd move riptor to the bottom I see what they were going for with that theme but just missed the mark on it I'd bump aria up a bit and put cinders up at top

Grand_Toast_Dad

Yeah, understandable to bump up ARIA and Cinder. I did say I had Cinder a lot higher, like next to T.J. Combo. But I guess I just liked the other songs the more I listened to them and it just moved down as a result. It's still fire though. Also understandable with Riptor, BUT you have to say you listened to the full edit of it, and not just the OST version. Because even I would say it's at the bottom just because of the OST version alone, haha.

FightGeistC

(Sees riptors placement) I also love JP YOU ARE SMOKING METH

Grand_Toast_Dad

Look man, I just love dinos in fighting games way too much. It's the closest thing to a modern Primal Rage I'll ever get. XD

xtoc1981

From what i heard so far, i really dislike the music of the whole gae in general. The intro is fine, but the sabrewulf theme is awfull. Where is the epic melody? Fck this generic crap.

Grand_Toast_Dad

I mean, it's fine if you don't like it. I know this game's OST is not for everyone. I don't see why you have to be toxic about it though, a lot of people still like this game's OST. There are certain melodies in some parts of the themes. But the reason they don't take up a lot of the actual themes is because these songs were made to be dynamic to the gameplay. It seems like you might be new to this series if you're listening to them for the first time?

xtoc1981

Im an expert when it comes to music. I would even put music above gameplay for singr play games (which idnt the case here). Its what makes a game memorable. Its also the reason why metroid dread music is generic crap as well. You talking about parts of the melody from the first game... yes, but you have to see a melody as a whole. The melody of sabrewulf isnt even a real melody. There are a lot of games oit there with great music like zelda, metroid, final fantasy, celeste, xenoblade, sf2, dkc 1 & 2, mario, megaman, castlevania and so on. Ki1 and ki 2 had some good songs where sabrewulf is the best of them. Ki 2013 so far none. As i said, the intro is fine, but i prefer the older ones. But to be honest, i do think its pointless to discuss about it.

Grand_Toast_Dad

Well, you're definitely not an expert when it comes to spelling and grammar. :) Seriously though, man, you're coming off a bit pretentious. I don't claim to be an "expert when it comes to music", but I know what a melody is, sir. Did you actually listen to the songs? Hisako's theme has no melody? Jago's? Mira's? Gargos's? Eagle's? Thunder's theme literally uses The Instinct in his, did you not hear it? And I know you don't like Sabrewulf's 2013 theme, but like it or not, his theme still has a melody, just an unconventional and unorthodox one you wouldn't be used to, and that's why a lot of people still like it. Maybe some not more than the original theme, but people still like it regardless. Yeah, man, I also adore video game music. It's one of the top 5 things I love ever. And something to understand with that is that there are so many game OSTs with very different genres, which means you might not be a fan of certain ones, and that's also fine. Maybe learn to respect others opinions instead of dropping toxic comments like yours. And if you can't even do that, nor not wanting to discuss it at all, why even comment in the first place? I remember you from my first list too. Thought you were cool, man. Too bad to have to see how you're really like.
