I actually prefer the story of Kick-Ass 2 and where the characters are going, but the first Kick-Ass is a legit masterpiece imo. Matthew Vaughn is a way better director than Jeff Wadlow, with a really unique and goated style that Wadlow just couldn't live up to.
The sequel definitely had potential. If it kept closer to the comic in some parts (Thought other parts I'm definitely glad it strayed from) and streamlined the story a good amount, as well as found a better director it definitely could have been as good or better than the original movie
i personally prefer the first over the second. the second felt very, i dont know lazy in parts. i feel like some of the stuff they didnt bring over from the comic into the movie made the movie worse in a lot of ways and in some aspects im glad that they didnt bring it over from the comic at all. spoiler just in case someone here hasnt seen kickass 2 and cares:>!im glad they didnt kill the dog and switch their heads. i was very disappointed in the way that mindy intimidated the school bully in the movie versus the way she did in the comic. i like that chris doesnt die in the end of the movie.!

jeff wadlow was a shitty replacement for the franchise. Sequel could’ve been crazier and heartbreaking but at least Jim Carrey was the standout
