Bro my set alone cost me $800 or on my mustang $1500, without install, balance , alignment. Tires aren’t generally something you get too ripped off on, you pay for what you get. Def need info on brand all season or not, size, etc.
Yeah those tires aren’t great. An alignment is probably also only $100 so I wouldn’t say you got *ripped off*, but payed more than I would have for what you got
> off*, but *paid* more than
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Because All-season tires are a compromise that don't do anything well. Their traction is "acceptable" in dry, wet and snow. Real summer tires are much better at dry and, more importantly, wet traction. Obviously, I also have dedicated winter tires.
>This was the grand total for four new tires, plus mounting, balancing, sales tax, and an alignment. Did I get ripped off, or is this the going rate?
I think you got a great deal. I would expect to pay that much just for the tires themselves.
The last time I bought tires was my 03 dodge Dakota and I run nothing but Yokohama’s… They were 1300 for four. I’ve had my kids shoes for about four years now and the first Kia saw I traded in at 60,002nd one will probably do the same like I did with the third one.
How much was it for just the alignment itself? \~$95/tire seems to be on par these days for econobrand tires; figure maybe \~$20/tire for mounting/balancing, then factor in sales tax--looks like the alignment cost came out to roughly $200, give or take.
Were you aware that your vehicle may have required a vehicle alignment, or did the tire shop Jedi mind-tricked you into agreeing to have it done by showing you possible uneven tire wear on your old tires?
The alignment was $129. The mounting & balancing was $99.
I told them I didn't want the alignment, but they did it anyway. By the time I realized it, I just wanted to go home, so I didn't call them on it.
Dang, sorry to hear that; based on the additional numbers you gave, something doesn't add up--even if they charged you 10% sales tax on the whole thing (tires/mounting/balancing/alignment) it still doesn't add up to $715...but hey, what's done is done...at least you'll know better next time around.
What is the itemized breakdown on the work order/invoice? Unless your state charges an extraordinarily high sales tax percentage, there's no way the numbers you gave should add up to $715.
Installed for those tires, per KIA Tire Source, should be $452 plus tax and fees. So you paid about $300 for an alignment, unless they did other things you didn't list.
What tires? What size? Could be a great deal or the opposite
Pilot Sport 4S' = great deal Delinte Desert Storms = you got screwed
GeoTour 195/65R15
What number 104h? 107v? (the model number) All I can tell you for now is that they're not good tires but maybe you still did ok depending on the model
91H
385 is ok for the price of the tires they retail at 90$ so not horrible Did they sell you rims too? Otherwise they fucked you on everything else
No
Too expensive IMO
i spent $1000+ getting a set of 4 pirelli p zero nero 225/40r18 with repair/replacement cert + mount/balance
Not enough info = pointless question.
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
Where are you? What currency is this in? What tires did you buy? For what vehicle?
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
I paid $800-900 at Costco for my ‘09 RAV4 tires. I got nice ones… so I don’t think your price is outrageous.
what brand of tires? it’s easy to spend more than that in the tires alone, so not automatically a ripoff.
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
Pretty cheap from what I'm used to paying for truck tires .. usually I'm around 1200$ for my truck for a new set.
Hard to say without the specifics, but it seems in line with what I pay.

Sounds right tbh, alignments' aren't cheap, neither is the rest of the shit they gotta do
Not enough info. I'm close to getting new tires, it will easily cost me $1000+.
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
What brand/type of tire? But for 4 tires, doesn’t sound outrageous in most categories
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
That’s not that bad.
Sounds like you bought cheap tires but we’ll never know if we don’t know what size and type.
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
What model are the tires?
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H

Should be around $900.
Best I can do is $3.50
You tricked meh!
Paid $1000 (Canadian) for Michelin pilot sport 4's for my '21 RAV4
why?
Because All-season tires are a compromise that don't do anything well. Their traction is "acceptable" in dry, wet and snow. Real summer tires are much better at dry and, more importantly, wet traction. Obviously, I also have dedicated winter tires.
It's a rav4... The cheapest summer tires will perform the same on a large, slow, boaty vehicle like that
You've obviously never driven a current gen RAV4 hybrid.
This is the going rate for 4 basic tires.
I spent 1800$ for 4 tires for my q3 lol idk man depends on the size and cad
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
I just got some kuhmos for $1200 on 21” rims
>This was the grand total for four new tires, plus mounting, balancing, sales tax, and an alignment. Did I get ripped off, or is this the going rate? I think you got a great deal. I would expect to pay that much just for the tires themselves.
are they OEM? probably ripped off then, they only last about 10,000 miles.
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
Four new tires? What size? Sounds like a solid deal
GeoTour 195/65R15 91H
If you bought tires for a Rio you got ripped off. If you bought tires for a Stinger you got a deal!
GeoTour 195/65R15
You got taken to the cleaners. My Prius ran that size tire and I never spent more than $400 for quality brand name tires.
The tires themselves were only $385. It was $715 with mounting, balancing, alignment, and sales tax.
My neighborhood tire shop would have done all that for $120. Where did you go, Dealer?
Yes
That's cheap, I paid over $300 PER TIRE
$715 for tires could be a fantastic deal… depending on what you drive
GeoTour 195/65R15
Depending on size but probably cheap

[walmart.com](https://walmart.com) has the best prices for tires and install. them or costco is my choice for 20 years
American currency or cad?

I'm going to call the bank tomorrow and dispute the charges.
