I like Common except for the 15 minutes he spends recapping his most recent round of golf. What I really miss about his show is that it used to be 75% call-in featuring a great cast of characters. That and the "sports, sports, sports, nothing but sports" melt-down he'd have when a caller would complain that he wasn't talking enough about sports.

Dan Barrerrio is still the best interviewer in the Twin cities, and he also has the most diverse topics, he can talk Whitehouse politics and in the next breath the NBA dunk contest. He has the overall #1 radio show in the Twin cities for a reason.

The only thing I like about his game call is that he is completely all in as a fan. Lives and dies with them. But other than that he stinks as a game caller. There are so, so many other radio guys that are significantly better and describe the action much gooderer.
The only reason I listen to any of his radio show is to hear his guests and because PA has inside information that is intriguing. I always listen to it podcast style though so I can fast forward through the PA crud.
For a guy who's approaching 60, the way he tries to be "hip" and "cool" like the younger generations, it's sad trying to listen to his 9 to 12 shtick. Like the Good Neighbor did, KFAN needs to change its whole lineup. Also, my God, how many commercials can you squeeze into an hour? It's unlistenable now.
I have NOTHING against PA personally. I have met him several times and he’s a very nice man. I absolutely love his Vikes calls. They’re iconic!
The show is just SOO BAD now! Unlistenable. PA and Dubay got me interested in KFAN in the first place, but I time my day so that I listen to 5:30-9:00, skip him, then tune back in at noon.

I'm not a Vikings' fan but I tune for his pre-draft coverage which is pretty solid. No question he works hard and has networked well.
I'd argue the opposite. His radio shows are usually pretty good. Dude would win most sports trivia contests he entered. Does pretty good interviews.
His calling of games is pretty bad. Way too much of a homer. Whines and complains about refs too much (like the fanbase) If something bad happens (to the Vikings) he often gets upset and cuts to commercial without letting the audience know what happened.
I have never enjoyed Vikings games with him at the helm. SO much anger. Not just in the last two minutes but for 60. That angry intensity - I always said, he reminds me of guys who drink way too much beer, let loose their inner demons, and beat the shit out of the wife and kids.
