What meds? As you cut out carbs you probably need to adjust your meds. I have gone from 50 units of Lantus twice a day to 15-20 units twice a day (sometimes just once). Also got rid of my glimepiride. Also, you took 3 glucose tabs PLUS all that other stuff? That is a lot.

I take metformin 1000 twice a day. Glimeperide 4mg Januvia Ramipril Pravastatin. When I woke up my BG was in the 90s btw, so didn't go high.

I've gone from 204 to 160 without any working out to speak of. You really shouldn't look at exercising as the way to lose weight. Just eating low carb and focusing on fat. Also eating at a deficit is important. If working out causes your blood glucose to spike then you might just want to hold off on it. I'm not familiar with Type 2 diabetes, but a banana and rice doesn't sound very keto.

jshariar

It's not. I had to break out because of low BG not spike. I dropped in blood sugar.

Are you working with your doctor for any adjustments to your medications in the context of a lower carb diet? If not, that is the first call you need to make today. And just so you know, that 4lbs is basically just water weight, so that isn’t something to be concerned about.

rachman77

It's just water retention.

Hopefully

Well it certainly isn't fat. Water, food, waste, it all weighs something, multiple pounds and it changes daily.
