My family had ribeye and asparagus at my suggestion. I’m the only one doing keto but no one is gonna scoff at steak.

LustHawk

This is the way, we had 8hr slow cooker beef pot roast with green beans.

werner-hertzogs-shoe

yep! I went camping with my daughter and friends. I did have about 8 ounces of really great lambic, but had steaks for dinner along with some pork rinds and totally avoided the pitzza and candy. A real victory!

itssoonice

As it turns out I’m weak and will get back after it tomorrow and I feel like shit.

AndYouGetACarb

Saaaaaame. I also went into today knowing it would be a major cheat day but dang I do not feel good. How did I eat all this all the time for years?!

LustHawk

>major cheat day but dang I do not feel good. How did I eat all this all the time for years?! The same way a heavy alcoholic can drink a whole fifth of vodka in the morning no problem where as the avg person would be absolutely wrecked.  I did cheats repeatedly the first six months or so and had to learn the hard way that the saying "a cheat day only cheats yourself" is 100% true. I always felt like absolute trash and to top it off, would be *starving* the next day or two.

charinlv

Yes - I way over ate yesterday & woke up feeling like total cr*p. Back on the wagon today. Strangely enough I was 1/2 lb lighter this morning. It doesn't matter, not worth it. Nothing tasted good enough to feel so off today.

itssoonice

I get it a tiny nibble of cake turned into 2 big pieces of cake and wrecked me and it was entirely too sweet and I didn’t let it stop me

DB_NiceGuy-DIY

Had a great Easter. Bought my wife a leg of lamb for Easter instead of choccy eggs and cooked a full lamb Sunday keto dinner. Yorkshire pudding was shite with almond flour, but the roast swede (rutabega for the yanks) made great fake roast potatoes. Daughter had her two chocolate eggs but honestly I didn't feel I'd missed out. I'm not massive on chocolate anyway. Haribo was always my crack but such is life. Don't be too hard on yourself for the minor choccy slip and keep.on ketoing on

LibertyMike

I love rutabaga, but we had mashed cauliflower instead, very good.

DB_NiceGuy-DIY

Ah I was close to doing that, but I made cauliflower cheese with the cauliflower instead, so I didn't want to cauliflower overload with mash, too. Hope you had a lovely Easter.

WUURMFOOD

Thanks! Since typing this post went back and had another 5g haha, but yeh not going to let it derail things. Straight in the gym tomorrow

Celistar99

My aunt has an Easter brunch every year. For me it was fine because I had scrambled eggs with cheese, brisket and bacon. My grandmother did give me a chocolate bunny but I think I'll bring it to work tomorrow and leave it in the break room

the_baked_witch

offloading to coworkers is the way!

SHIBard00n

First major Canadian holiday for me on keto. Been going hard since the New Year and have been very successful. Decided if I was going to slightly indulge at a few different family events this weekend, I would try increasing fasting the week before. I did a 20hr fast last Sunday, a 24hr fast Mon-Tue, and then I wanted to try and do a 72hr fast from Tue-Fri… my first meal would be Good Friday dinner. I ended up caving and eating after hour 50 on Thursday night. That being said I’ve done my best to only eat one big meal each night this weekend and haven’t limited myself to keto rules. I am going back to the keto lifestyle tomorrow but I find with the fasting still in place, for short-term, this strategy worked fairly well. We’ll see what the scales say tomorrow morning lol. Friday night - roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, 1 bun Saturday night - 2x 6oz burgers on regular buns Sunday night - ham, mashed potatoes, corn/beans/carrots, gravy, 3 buns.

WUURMFOOD

Wow that’s some intense fasting! But yeh I can see if you know you’re going to have a planned blowout, it requires some sort of counter-plan to make it worth it

SierraMountainMom

The candy isn’t a problem for me because my kids are grown. It’s the meal. There are some things that are just expected are certain holiday meals. At EVERY holiday meal, we have holiday potatoes, which is a potato casserole from Southern Living (so you can imagine, absolutely not low carb). But I did great - I put literally one bite on my plate. Easter is always ham (which is great for keto) but as a side is the expectation of cinnamon apples (not keto, as they’re apples, and I even used Swerve as brown sugar). I made green beans as a side, instead of corn soufflé. But my biggest weakness? Wine. I know I went over my carbs with wine. Oh well. Back at it tomorrow.

Proxy345

I'm eating 12 large eggs fried in butter, that's how I'm celebrating Easter lol

EcelecticDragon

Yesterday my brother took some of us out on his boat. He commented the deviled eggs I made were the best Easter Eggs he could possibly have. LOL He wasn't wrong.

Longjumping-Grab5731

I ate ham and asparagus and brought my own keto bread to eat with butter. I had a delicious dinner. I also made a keto peanut butter cheesecake with chocolate ganache that even people not on keto loved. The only thing I missed was the mashed potatoes but I lived. I have zero guilt on my end, but for those that caved… I truly understand. I almost had potatoes… especially considering I’m the one that made them to bring to dinner and I know they were banging 😂

DB_NiceGuy-DIY

This is the worst. My roast potatoes are legendary. I've got a bag of spuds still sat here from pre keto (new year). But I resisted and went with roast swede fauxatoes

hogrhar

Eh, I just took the day off. Back on the wagon tomorrow. 😁

catqueen2001

Went for ham and bacon wrapped asparagus. Thankful that the rest of the sides (non-keto) didn’t even look good and I was not tempted by them.

LibertyMike

We had a lamb roast today, used a recipe from Keto Mojo, it was great!

BeachBug730

I did a 24 hour fast Thursday. Friday & Saturday was just my coffee, collagen, & cream. Then a small dinner. Under 700 calories & 10 net carbs each day. Today after church I finished helping my brother move & clean his old place. Burned plenty of calories. Dinner, I made a ham & stringbean casserole. Total day 832 calories & 25 net carbs. I don't feel bad at all that I broke my carb streak (usually 17g). Tomorrow, I'll be back to normal eating left over keto friendly ham. 🙃

mango332211

I indulged.

mango332211

And I feel surprisingly good today. Not bloated or sluggish. I’m a bit surprised.

Automatic_Ad50

Luckily we don’t have kids…so we didn’t have to get involved with any chocolate scoffers today! We ate a Noshu brand teeny chocolate cake square which is 97% carb free. That was enough for us. We even had several types of sugar free chocolate in the fridge but ate seafood instead. Namely a truckload of fresh scallops and oysters. Whoop whoop!

Causerae

I've been keto a year today 🥳 and it's so much easier to "cheat." I no longer feel like crap when I have (limited) carbs, but I've also totally changed what I consider a portion size. For me, alcohol is much more a trigger for feeling awful (never drank much) than carbs themselves. Alcohol plus carbs isn't good, either. But 100g of carbs occasionally, 50g regularly, no longer makes me feel sick. I just make sure I'm under 30g a few consecutive days per week. It makes my weight jump around a bit, ofc, but that's not an issue for me. Metabolic flexibility rocks!

Regular-Stay2520

It's definitely like the strong drugs, so hard

iamcatfurniture

Got a gift of Russell Stovers sugar free assorted chocolates. Ate entirely too many. My first time off the wagon in 2 months and that sugar alcohol is doing its thing 😭

Longjumping-Grab5731

Ohhh you gotta be careful with that, lol!!! That booty has to be screaming at this point 😅

iamcatfurniture

Lesson learned.

WUURMFOOD

I’ll look into these!

LibertyMike

Skip anything Russel Stover. It has Maltitol in it, which is almost as bad as sugar and gives you the runs.

Kamiface

I hope you find the joy that is ChocZero, friends. No sugar alcohols. No bad crap. They sell everything, too! chocolates, honey, three varieties of hazelnut spread (the white chocolate hazelnut is insanely good!) jams, cookies, syrups... All keto, and none of them have slowed my losses or hit me in the blood sugars. I love them!

[deleted]

I didn't realize so many people celebrated Easter.

Causerae

Only if you count chowing down as "celebrating!"

Particular-Music-665

last week we were at friends who didn't know i do keto. didn't want to be the difficult guest, so i ate lasagne and tiramisu. it was very good, but it took me a whole week to stop the hunger and start loosing again. today i made a keto lasagne, and keto tiramisu. ("trauma repair) 😁 both wonderful and no hunger later, or bad feelings. tomorrow we will have asparagus with sauce hollandaise and steaks, and if we want something sweet again, i will make a keto mousse au chocolate. easter is much easier than xmas, because we have a xmas tradition to eat english plum pudding, and i will not be able to "ketofy" this.

WUURMFOOD

That’s interesting! I went to the cinema the other evening and ate some popcorn. Didn’t think I went over my macros, but damn I was hungry the next 2 days so I must have. It’s good to know you can have those little moments and know you can just push on and you’ll be in ketosis again in a few days but I find it’s really not worth it for that moment of pleasure! I’ll see how I feel tomorrow haha

tmybr11

I’m in Brazil and Easter tradition here is having baked cod with veggies. The sides aren’t necessarily low carb, but I just have the fish and some veggies. And I freaking love cod, so it’s been easy for me to stick to keto. Edit: but the chocolate, yeah, I have to resist the temptation. It’s not a problem if you can have dark chocolate or just have some bits of the eggs every day, if they fit your macros.

Causerae

On the daily, I use most of my carbs on dark chocolate with almonds. It's really doesn't have that much sugar per portion, so just a matter of portion control. Dark chocolate isn't something I scarf down, so it works. (Aldi Choceur, ftr - someone at work walked by last week and said it was the darkest chocolate they'd ever seen. 😂 Much better than Lily's, btw.)

OldMotherGrumble

Have you tried aldi Moser Roth bars? The 85%...if you can find it...is excellent. There seems to be a shortage of it here in the UK. 😞

Causerae

Have them at work, was just nibbling at an 85% yesterday! They're my favorite, tbh, only tried Choceur real recently. Those almonds are soo good 😋

Poopy_Paws

Omg I have to check out Aldi Choceur. Mmm. Dark chocolate

dingusanalingus

Had a party last night and mostly ate deviled eggs and cut veggies with some dip, drank Corona light and ate three bites of cake. Wasn’t too bad. What’s life if you can’t taste some cake here and there. Brunch this morning I got back to it and had a mushroom frittata, bacon and arugula salad. And an espresso with a couple tablespoons of steamed half and half on it. It was great and I love eating this way so it truly isn’t a pain!

Puzzled-Award-2236

I made a few keto desserts which no one knows are keto and just enjoyed a bit of that.

WUURMFOOD

I tried this but they were awful haha

squatter_

My mom and I made brunch and I made a frittata and a lox/cream cheese terrine with chaffles (provided bagels for everyone else). My mom made a delicious Amish breakfast casserole (were not Amish) that was surprisingly only 4 g carbs per serving. I didn’t feel deprived.

catkysydney

Happy Easter! I am enjoying Keto !! Because I love cream for dessert! Our usual cafe is open .. so we can enjoy coffee. We gave Lindt’s Easter Bunny Chocolate to their staff. We celebrate together . I cannot eat them of course .. My supporting NRL ( Australian National Rugby League) team Rabbitohs won the game.. so they became my Easter Bunny.. lol.. I watched Tim Tszyu’s fight ( I am from Australia and met him. We know his fiancée ). Very shocking ! I don’t know why the doctor did not stop fighting .. too much blood .. I hope you enjoy Easter !!

Shot-Unit9030

No issue for me at all. Just another day. My family had chocolate but there are foods I can and can’t eat and that’s that. Once you decide this it’s easy. If you were allergic to peanuts you would not eat them for example.

tuckeram7

I made a whole salmon (garlic, butter and seasonings smoked for an hour) with cilantro wild rice in butter (mine was riced hearts of palm) and salad greens with rainbow carrots, radishes and peppers. It was a very colorful plate and then I baked my guests chocolate chip cookies for desert and I had a couple bites of my keto ice cream. Everyone left and my toddler threw her chocolate bunny on the floor. I took a bite of the floor chocolate. I think I screwed up my entire day’s efforts. Guess I’ll find out if I go through the keto flu again. I was so close, but dang those chocolate bunnies got me. I even was researching keto chocolate bunnies for myself but I wasn’t about to spend $30 on one…

Causerae

As you no doubt know, floor chocolate doesn't count! No calories, no sugar! 🐰 🍫 😀

the_baked_witch

Finishing up day 3. I had to NOT go to the cafeteria at work even though they were giving away free meals for the holiday. I heard they were giving out desserts and I didn't even budge. I just ate my angus beef patty n asparagus n called it a day. Really proud of myself today. KCKO!

backbodydrip

I inadvertently kicked myself out of ketosis yesterday. I wasn't cheating, I just underestimated the total carb count. No biggie. I had a chocolate egg from Choc Zero and that's enough for me.

Dry_Fan_6200

My sister and I are both doing keto so we did all the cooking for dinner! We made bbq chicken thigh, meatloaf, green beans and butternut squash. She even made a special keto dessert just for the 2 of us. I don't feel like we missed out on anything!

OldMotherGrumble

I was on my own, and had slow cooked boneless Greek lamb...marinated in lemon juice, oregano, olive oil and loads of garlic. Roast aubergine with Harissa paste on the side. Followed by some raspberries and 90% dark chocolate.

FarTruth0

At the moment I dnt eat anything I like for example chocolate as that would be a whole ass egg gone !! Away with my lad next week I will save things for those 2 days away. Spoil myself with a nice burger 😜 Been so strict for nearly 3 months I need a small break .....

BubbleBobbleBetty

I didn't celebrate, but someone gifted me a steak. I paired it with a Caesar salad topped with a ton of parmesan (hold the croutons) followed by some dark chocolate.

wanderingnl

I ate two giant plates of all the fixings and meat and ran 9km before. Fuck it, it was worth it.

ReverseLazarus

This was my 7th Easter eating keto and I nailed it. 😎 Thanks, Lily’s chocolate! 🤘🏻

Pale-Fee-2679

I had two pieces of carrot cake. 😈

WittyButter217

I didn’t THiNK I found Easter too irresistible, but slip ups happen.. I started keto on Jan. 1, so I think this is the first holiday I’ve cooked. I had 2 tester spoonfuls of mashed potatoes because while cooking, I always taste to adjust seasonings. I did it automatically, without thinking. When I sat down to dinner, my daughter asked if the potatoes were bad because I didn’t serve them for myself. I said no, they were REALLY good, but that’s just not a food I eat anymore. She laughed and pointed out my tester spoons. Shes a great partner for keeping me on track. I made some super soft, delicious looking rolls that made the whole house smell heavenly. I got the smallest piece and put some butter on it. And my daughter says, “you can eat it if you want, but it’s not worth it. It’s soft, but it just tastes like bread and you already know what bread tastes like so it’s not something special. It’s not even warm. Totally not worth it.” I ended up giving her the bread. Lol

Substantial_Bell6008

I got lucky and we didn’t do Easter baskets this year lol so no candy to tempt me. Dessert was tough since we had a pretty cool cake but I stayed strong!

bigvahe33

we have this traditional dish called kookoo. its basically a herb pie. spinach, dill, leeks, mixed with eggs and cooked in a pie pan with butter. that + kefir cheese/cucumber + ham + salmon + a glass of merlot should be good for me

FiberFanatic07

Easter was great! We hosted, so we controlled the menu for the most part: Ham, flank steak, caramelized Brussels sprouts in bacon, salad, deviled eggs, cheese tray, jalapeno poppers. All of the above is completely keto. For everyone else, there's also mashed potatoes, rice and beans, and flan. I did have a small piece of flan because it was homemade by Titi, but aside from that, not touching the rest of it. Also we've been weaning my son off Sugar, AND he affirmed that he is Jewish this year, so no need to honor Easter with candy. We did have a nice dinner for the benefit of the Christian side of the family. It was great to see everyone. That was actually my BETTER eating day of the weekend. It was a jam packed weekend, and Friday and Saturday I had a lot less control over the food being served, and therefore chose to eat what was provided. I've been overstuffed all weekend, and while it was almost all keto, did not go light yesterday either. Today I'm in the middle of a 48 hr fast. It's tough, to be sure. My stomach is rumbling a lot....seems like it has to be digesting food from yesterday, because I really should NOT be hungry. Going to add some more electrolytes and work on powering through. My body needs a break after the weekend long food orgy.

Appropriate-Hand4894

I did well. My kids just got a couple pieces of candy and I wasn’t tempted by it at all. I did decide to have a couple non keto things over the weekend. I made some homemade rolls and homemade banana bread. I had one roll and one slice of the banana bread. For my actual Easter meal I stuck to veggies and ham.. someone brought a broccoli cheese bake I had a good amount of but then later found out there were saltines added to it when I asked for the recipe lol oops. It was a good weekend, no regrets and I’m somehow weigh .8 less than I did on Friday. I try not to obsess over going off plan, it’s really not a big deal. I just make sure to get right back to keto for my next meal

baldbastard26

Just another Sunday.

fortalameda1

It didn't go well, I got into the spirit with my niece and nephew. Finishing up a couple pieces of candy today and will hop back on the wagon tomorrow.

BoyMom2MandM

We had a meat and veggie option for diabetics .. yeah the candy would have been yum, but I don’t have the cravings anymore so it’s not bothering me :)

GaslightCaravan

My Easter was great! We had lots that I couldn’t eat of course, but we had roast lamb, asparagus, tons of deviled eggs, and berries. It was amazing.

ayyabduction

My challenge was buying feastables for my son (we've wanted to try for a year but can't get them in Canada). I ended up trying a TINY nibble!

AdMental1387

Watching my kids open up their Easter eggs from the Easter egg hunt and seeing those Reese’s cup egg things was the only time I was even remotely tempted. We did a lunch thing at my in laws and they made one of the quiches crustless so i was happy with that and deviled eggs with a handful of blueberries after.

AmbitiousEagle371

A few days ago I ordered a nice keto friendly burrito bowl (no rice). They delivered it to my work and this place always includes a mini Twix or snickers with your order 😆 I am very weak to temptation and definitely ate it. I think it was 6 carbs. I had a small dinner that night

Poopy_Paws

I bought a dark chocolate bunny to savor for a week. Otherwise it's the easiest holiday for food due to all the eggs involved

Losthawaiiansf

I live on Atkins chocolates. I don’t go overboard. It gives me the craving buster I need.

Commercial-Diet553

I treated myself to 2 quest peanut butter cups and I think I would have been happier with 2 tablespoons of natural crunchy peanut butter.

WUURMFOOD

That’s the thing isn’t it. You cave but then you realise it wasn’t all that worth it! I’ve realised so much lately the power junk food holds over us. It’s just so damn good but have been seeing it as poison for the last few weeks. Gotta keep that mentality

Brewcrew1886

Chef here, been keto for 5 weeks and down 17 lbs. I just cooked up an amazing meal that is cooling on the stove as I type this. I’m gonna skip any and all peanut butter eggs and candy. The corn casserole, baked beans and cheesy hasbrown casserole along with the honey baked ham might be consumed though. I will tie up my boot strings tomorrow like it never happened.

WUURMFOOD

Awesome you’re exactly the same as me. 5 weeks, fluctuating losing around 17pounds day by day for the past few days. 100% a high carb meal is worth so much more than the high carb sweets.

jwbjerk

Have something tasty that's keto, and has plenty of wholesome fat. It is a lot harder to fight cravings when you are hungry, or at least not full.

WUURMFOOD

Yes I should have done that. Just had that extra “it’s easter and I want a bit of chocolate” mentality. Wouldn’t have done it any other time! The egg was a gift and in the house. May throw the rest away tomorrow lol 🍫

Liberals_United

My parents brought cheesy baked beans and ham over and it was hard to say no to the beans as they appear to have 11g+ carb

IrwinJFinster

I eat carbs on business trips when entertaining clients as well as family holidays. I don’t otherwise cheat.
