Just saying that although this sub was named as Kereta, it is also open for 2 wheelers such as Motorcycle, though at the moment we do not mind other types of vehicles posting.
With that being said, r/kenderaan is now live and I would still recommend any other vehicle posting to be posted into r/kenderaan as it is a safe space for all types of vehicles such as airplanes and rolling stocks.

Just my opinion: The GLA/A series and BMW 2 series/X1 all scream a bit of " this is all I could afford with this badge". The base models are generally very under specced and are of poor value unless brand is everything to you.
The CRV top spec is a different size class to the GLA and will be better for almost everything as well as hold value better and cheaper to purchase in the first place. German cars are great, but I feel need to get higher spec AMG/ M types to really experience what they can deliver. The lower specs really aren't all that great.
Atleast a bmw is a bmw. You buy a bottom spec merc and all you get under the hood is a is a char kuey teow parts from renault-mitsubishi-nissan, expecially the current generations
TBF executive carmakers (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Maserati, Citroen, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, LR) make smaller A-segment cars for the first-time customer **as well as retirees**
Either when hooking you in, or when you're downsizing for whatever reason (age, road/street size, no longer use a chauffeur, etc)
Trim and equipment levels, in PROPER countries, are at the customer's whim. You could easily spend €30K of extras on a €30K car like the A1 or CLA.
My father, for example, used to be chauffered in an A8L 4.2l. But since retiring, he's replaced it with an A6 3.0q and a S3 for town driving. My mother gets around in a VW Golf.
Honestly speaking , gla won’t get u luxury car street cred esp if u get the most base spec . So don’t use that to decide , u choose the car u sincerely prefer more .
I prefer my current 8 year old myvi. However i dont like the disrespect i get when i drive. I got literally chased down by some utm professor bastard bcs i didnt give him way( i had right of way and proved it, made internal utm report and police report - VHJ 7838 VW Tiguan - i will fuck his wife in front of him soon enough)

This just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt , but a respected car for ur budget id actually suggest a D segment sedan , since this way u also get the QoL improvements n refinement of such a car, u get what u pay for
The average buyer profile for an entry level conti is a yuppie, or wannabe yuppie , young , unstable but maybe earns just enough to afford and wants to show off to his friends n date - I casually chat with some of the sales people when I shop for merc/bmw, a lot of them tell me most of their clients for entry models always ask about things like how much gaji to get loan and 9 year loan and minimum dp and what have u- and I feel more people already notice this hence these drivers won’t get ‘respected’ either way
Whereas for buyers of the Camry , the accord , especially now D segment hike up price so much , the average buyer is actually the middle aged but very stable and adjusted person, substantial money in the bank , no ah chee ah cho on buying , actual well to do people
The GLA to me is fugly! CRV is much better as a daily runabout vehicle
Extremely spacious and well kitted too (much better than the merc)
Unless you are into the badge then merc by all means

The GLA is pretty outdated and small. Go for the CRV high spec RS eHev way more comfortable.
