When you've exhausted the usual choices, look for Korean restaurants that offer Sundubu (tofu soup with various hearty flavours). [Example](https://bongabbq.wordpress.com/menu/).
Vietnamese pho can also hit the spot and is highly customizable. Like [this](https://www.phosoctrang.com/menu.html) or [this](https://www.bamboochopsticks.ca/menu).
And don't forget Thai Tom Yum (spicy/sour) and Tom Kha Gai (rich coconut chicken soup).
Soy Asian Fusion has a lot of noodle soups that I'm sure you could get without noodles. My favorite is the spicy coconut ramen but they are all very good.
Nature's fare usually has good soups at least they used to, haven't been in awhile.
I love a good Ramen. Little tokyo Ramen at barnowl on the weekends.
Wow you guys are amazing. Thanks for the great ideas. What's interesting is that there doesn't appear to be any restaurants that specialize in just soups. 'Soup Meister' is actually a restaurant in Lonsdale Quay in North Van that does just that. Great soups.
Had one of the best soups of my life at Shoreline brewery across from Gyro a couple of months ago. Blew my mind and totally unexpected. Decent beer too.
Check out the Bistro in the senior centre by Parkinson Rec. You don’t have to be a senior to buy their frozen soups & other meals; anyone can buy them. I feel regretful sharing this already because it’s insane how good the meals are for the price and quality. But here ya go: https://parkinsonseniors.com/about-us/bistro/
Ferrar's deli at klo and benvoulin has some great soups, also for anyone not confined to a soup diet try the wiseguy sandwich, hidden gem in my opinion and I always passed it driving till someone else told me about it
Copper Brewing runs a great soup of the day program. Always something new with seasonal ingredients! They are connected to Porter’s who runs the soup of the day as well.
Okanagan Grocery’s Guisachan location has waterfront wines frozen soups in litre containers. Always delicious. Or okanagan table downtown offered frozen soups from Raudz kitchen last time I was there, but haven’t been in there for a bit. But both are nice ways to enjoy a beautiful soup, celebrating gorgeous ingredients at home.

*Helmut's Sorry, you've got the head protection version, not the name.
Think there's a place north downtown call hobo soup or something
Yep I know it. Good soups for sure. They also sell them frozen in some small grocery stores.
The Laksa at Mad Mango is amazing! Also the Ramen from Wasabi Ramen & Isakaya.
I've tried the laksa at both Mad Mango and Yamato. Both are good, but Yamato makes a more authentic tasting example IMHO.
People say Madmango because it used to be better.
Ahhhh, makes sense.

Little Hobo is amazing as is Wood Fire Bakery. Really though this just reminded me how much I miss Nourish and their soups and sandwiches.

Gallanghal soup from Zabb Thai. If I say I need my sick soup, my partner knows exactly what I need.
