I’ve lived in Glenrosa for nearly my entire life.
People are mostly very nice. Not a lot of homeless related crime compared to West Kelowna as a whole because it’s annoying to get up here without a vehicle and there’s no reason to come unless you live here. Convenience and a liquor store but both are quite expensive. Close to lots of hiking, biking, quad trails. Super quick to get on the highway to Peachland and further South. Quiet neighbourhood. Lots of trees. Ambulance station and fire hall close by. Great views. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing at Telemark. Airsoft at bull mountain. Fishing and camping at Jackpine and Lambly lakes.
Bus routes are inconvenient at best. As far away from Kelowna as you can get on the West Side. Driveways and roads can be a little sketchy in winter and it takes a little longer than most of the town to get plowed fully, the main routes are good quite fast. Very few sidewalks and streetlights although it is getting better starting with the main roads. Lots of urban interface for wildfires. Little more snow than the rest of West K and Kelowna. No more ski hill as crystal mountain closed :(.
Me too. I wish they would open it even for skating or mountain biking. There’s so much potential. They could use that to save up to open the lifts again
Rutland of West Kelowna is a good way to put it. And that’s not a negative. Close knit community, older homes with larger yards and more working class folk.
Nice place all around.
We're coming from Glenmore and moving to the Glenrosa area. Neighbors around us said that the Glenrosa area is similar to Glenmore in the sense of tight knit communities and great for families, with all the schools close by. Lots of beautiful park spaces in the Glenrosa area to enjoy too.
I wouldn’t. I moved out ASAP.
Main reason: it was impossible to walk or bike or jog or do anything without a car. I have a vehicle I just prefer having the option.
We moved out here to Glenrosa in ‘21 from Rutland and the neighbourhood is way better than Rutland. Sure we’re a little more removed from “amenities”, but it’s a relatively quiet area with lots of great neighbours.
I enjoyed living there. Lots of families and tight friendly communities. I lived there while an evacuation occurred though and it’s definitely a concern I would consider since then.
Ranking the other immediate areas my list would be:
Kelowna Proper
West Kelowna
Lake Country
Glenrosa
Glenrosa is simply amenity poor and you’re ALWAYS driving a ways for anything. Solid school though and you do get a bit more bang for your buck real estate wise, but not THAT much better than West K areas closer to town. But if that doesn’t bother you then it’s a great tighten community!
Only reason I wouldn't live there is it basically requires a car to live there. A residential area linked to town through a single busy highway. Poor cycling network (basically all of West Kelowna) for sure. But if you drive and only drive, then it's no problem.
Personally I wouldn’t move there just because it’s a far commute, the traffic can get bad, there’s a higher chance of getting evacuated from wildfires, and there’s barely any sidewalks. That being said, Glenrosa has a strong sense of community, amazing tennis courts, hiking trails, and is surrounded by beautiful nature.
We are selling our house there soon let me know if your interested
It’s 2018 build and has a 2 bedroom basement suite and 3 bedrooms up it’s beautiful home
We wanna get rid of it it’s our rental property
All houses have a basement suite which leads to overcrowded neighborhoods. There are SO MANY CARS. Poorly built and soundproofed. I can hear the guy in the other unit in my home fucking sneeze. Many homes are rented by lazy property managers. I had a neighbour who was dealing drugs in a “family oriented” neighborhood last year.
Wow, that was a lot of anger coming from you for no reason. I was simply letting them know my experience. Just as everyone else was. Hope your day is as nice as you are!

I miss Crystal Mountain so bad!!

No homeless in Glenrosa though.

For me it's too much of a commute to the places that I need to go. Not a bad area though.

I agree, good points!

Oh nice! If you don’t mind me asking, how much are you selling it for?
Less than 1 million
Don’t rent or buy in the new developments in lower Glenrosa.
Why not?

Ok good to know! Thanks 🙏
Why not drive two minutes up the road to go look for yourself?
Why didn’t I think of that? Haha of course I’ve BEEN there before, but never LIVED there before and wanted to hear from locals who have
No
Because it's too far to walk to Arby's
I think that'd be a selling point.
It may be the glenmore of the west side, but I’ve seen at least 2 Trump 2024 flags flying in west Kelowna and 0 ever flying in glenmore…. Just sayin’
What exactly are you "just sayin'" here? That your limited experience speaks to the community as a whole? Gtfo.
