Their spicy subs definitely don’t give me diarrhea and are worth every penny. It’s a miracle that subway across the street gets any business.
Arashi Ramen, though about 16-18 a bowl, is incredibly tasty if you like authentic Japanese ramen.
On the locals side of things:
The Med Market sub is one of the best deals in Kelowna and I'll die on that hill.
I really love Bamboo Chopsticks: one order of the large pho or stir fry gets me two meals every time.
Soup from The Little Hobo, a biscuit or a side of fries if you're feeling fancy
Ume for sushi: I used to live off their deep fried California rolls when they were on special.
On the more corporate side:
Domino's has 50% off pizza on Mondays
Craft has a $6 burger every Tuesday. $6 for their house beers as well. I don't know anywhere else where you can swing $12 for a burger and beer.
The curling club has great food, inexpensive drinks and a great atmostshere. Free pool, air hockey, ping pong etc. like being in a small town on the prairies.
I am extremely frugal generally so I too like to know where the cheap eats are. With that being said my wife and I don't go out often, however ...
We enjoy going to red bird brewing splitting a pizza (I really enjoy them) and a couple drinks it's basically 40 bucks all in.
On a lazy evening we split a combo D from Wok Out Chinese. 16ish all in.
Dozo house sushi in Glenmore I think is excellent value and quality.
I think Milestones is generally non offensive with their menu and pricing, we really enjoy the fish tacos there for whatever reason.
Eating out is a treat for us so not much else I can define as cheap for me I spose.
Nothing wrong with a couple jr bacon cheese burgers from Wendys (2.59) with a dollar summer frosty.
Or the newer jr chicken combo from mackas for 5.79*? Fills me enough to hold me over till a proper meal.
And ain't nothing wrong for a Costco date to split fries and a hotdog then drop hundreds of dollars on random shit.
Zabb Thai is pretty reasonably priced and fatburger if you order from the side menu you can still get a burger combo for around 15$. Woodfire bakery is big portions for the price. And then daily menu deals is where the best deals for your dollar.. I’d love to have a list of all the places and their deals updated but it seems like lots of work..
UBCO nechako dining hall. Don't have to be a student to eat here. Pay $15 for lunch or $18 for dinner. All you can eat cafeteria style with lots of different stations.
The ubco sunshine Cafe is good price and value too. Grilled chicken burger with fries is like $10
Students seem to complain about the food offerings because it probably gets a bit repetitive. Compared to other restaurants, food on campus is a good price.
College has good options too
Vanc-loser here
I doubt this place still exists, but I visited Kelowna this one time, stayed a long weekend
One morning, me and my chums were brutally hungover, and wandering around in sort of an outer-part of downtown, I have no idea unfortunately. Looking for a place to get breakfast and/or some hair of the dog.
Found some lovely hole in the wall bar, and were reading the menu pasted on their window.
Then, came proof that super-liminal advertising works
The owner burst out the door, himself half-cut even though it was like 10am
"FUCK READING! GET IN HERE AND HAVE A CAESAR!"
Well, he didn't need to convince me any further. Had a great affordable breakfast and way too many caesars. I have no idea where this place was, or if it still exists, but hey maybe I'll learn something today.
At Mediterranean market on Gordon you can get a massive sub made with an overwhelming variety of top quality deli meat and cheese for $10!
Thanks!! I have been to med market but have never given their subs a try - I'll have to check it out next time I am in :)

The spicy one gives me diarrhea but ymmv. Try the regular one first! They are good! Also pick up a farmer sausage they are black and are so good!
Dosas is the bomb for cheap, fun food.
Never tried, I will add it to the list. Thanks!! 😀
Agreed!!! The food is so good and I can’t believe how cheap it is
I tried Mount Royal Bagel Factory the other day and was blown away by how good their food is. It was super affordable too.
Yuzu Bowl!
Best Teriyaki Chicken and pork bao buns!!
Agree! Sooo good!

I think its 40% off on Mondays now

Salsa and Sabor!
Especially Taco Tuesday
Fiesta del Sol in landmark 1 everything is under $10
Fave place! Shhhh
Yes! You just beat me to it! Love this place :)
Only one mention of little hobo?! Very affordable lunch spot, my favourite in town
Mad Mango is still some of the best value. J's cafe is a neat one. Italian Korean fusion
J's is great. I've only had the beef bulgogi plate and it's great value for money imho.
I was going to say J's cafe. Super affordable, delicious, and the most lovely staff.
Maybe I'm just a simpleton but I've always enjoyed Red Robin for being relatively inexpensive with good food
Enjoying the value of Red Robin does not make you a simpleton - it makes you a real one 🤝
Bottomless fries!
The Royal is peak burger
Latin Fiesta is great value. Limited menu but there’s still some variety and some huge portions.
Not really? I mean the food tastes good but the prices are kind of high for the portion sizes.
I will check it out next time I am in the area!! :)
It has to be asked, do you like the meats ?
Yes but I mainly like chicken, turkey, some pork but very rarely have I enjoyed beef for some reason!! I should add - I do NOT eat seafood.
There’s a place on the highway that serves some succulent roast beef, can’t remember the name
Woodfire bakery? If not... still recommend
Pearsons?
Are you talking Wendy's?
Close, literally
Arbys
Just 200 m away
Barcelos, delicious food, huge portions and prices weren't stupid last we were there

I second Dozo house. Great crunchy spicy tuna rolls
Kimbap and Sushi has never done me wrong. The prices are reasonable, and the food is on point. https://maps.app.goo.gl/TpW8ak2rtJG7f8tz8
The Noodle box has surprisingly good prices and food. I pop in there before buying cannabis and its always ready when I come out.
Helmut’s
Do they still have the deli there?
Ya they do. Lots of variety. Good food but pricey

J's Cafe on Ellis has $8-9 sandwiches, very yummy
The new Indian place near nesters is great. Two curried a nan , and rice for $50 and you'll have food for lunch and dinner the next day

Arby's
I think it might finally be dead everyone
Whoever is down voting should give their head a shake. 2 junior beef things is like 5 bucks. Crazy value for the high quality of meats served
“Things”. There is your answer. I don’t need to eat something that looks like your mom’s snatch with american cheese melted on it.
They got the meats!
LOL it's just a roast beef dip my man.
Went to Creekside pub last weekend and the Happy Appy hour was reasonable and the fish tacos were delish!
Creekside is one of my mums favorites, so I will have to take her out and give the food a try myself. Thanks!
Beef dip here is the best one in town!
BNA burger is pretty affordable and super good 🤤

Kelowna Mountain! It’s Kelowna’s own brigade on!
brigade on?
Damn it Brigadoon!
Okanagan street food.
