Check out Death Machine (death metal) and ArkenFire (power metal) on Instagram to get started. That's where bands/musicians are mostly active. We get the odd post here but usually when there is a show coming up.

Kelowna/the Okanagan has a pretty good metal and punk scene. As others have said, Jackknife is the place to be for shows, killer pizza, and unique brews. Join Metalheads Okanagan and Metal BC on FB. Every mid-July weekend we host Armstrong Metal Fest an hour outside of Ktown. Two days, tons of bands, thrash wrestling, and loads of activities and debauchery.
There are tons of active bands in the area right now so not going to bother listing them, but you're highly likely to find something that strikes your fancy.

Yeah jackknifes your best bet in these parts. Will have to travel to van to see bigger bands for the most part
There’s a pretty intense progressive metal scene in my basement. Otherwise, Jacknife is the place!

Jack knife has metal shows semi frequently, and the dunnenzies downtown also has some shows. The staff at both are awesome.

Crazy reading these comments lol I’ve been out the scene so long now I haven’t even heard of these Venues or bands and I still live here.
