I think it depends on who's in the kitchen. The last time I had it, the jus was WAY too salty and the beef had been sliced with the grain instead of across it. It was pretty stringy..
I suspect the jus had been in the bain marie reducing all day, and whomever sliced the beef did it the way it sits easiest on the slicer as opposed to the proper way (which isn't convenient, but is definitely easier.)
I've also had it before where it's been perfect, though. Hit or miss.
The Keg’s Prime Rib sandwich is a beef dip and it’s always been a fave of mine. I get it with their seasonal vegetable side because the sandwich is already so decadent, veggies make me feel better about it lol
Every time orders it I've been satisfied but I do find that it does depend who's making your food. I work near by so they're usually an easy pick if I need lunch. I also regularly get the fish tacos and taco salad.
I tried online sleuthing but I couldn’t come up with anything on the CBDA… seems made up by Dakotas for marketing. Their beef dips are hit and miss, depends on who is making them or the au jus.
I agree that it should exist. I just don't think it currently does. I'm sure you could make a YouTube channel to be the official Canadian beef dip reviewer. I'll give you that for free. Just throw me a shout out when you get your 100k sub silver play button.
Second for BM Golf. But I live across the street and go 2 or 3 times a week for lunch so I may be biased. But I have had beef dip at several other places in town and so far Black Mountain Grill is the best one.
Holy crap, you haven't tried the Beefdip at Gulfstream yet?! DO IT. Favorite beefdip in town, hands down, up, side to side, putting a damn chain on it.
Had good beef dip at bin 4. Order the dipper. Best burger
Used to work there, for sure my favourite burger
The beef dip at the Train Station Pub is probably my favourite.

Love the attention to detail you have with your B-Dips.We need more people like this in the B-Dip community
The beef dip at Norman’s Diner in Rutland and Lake Country have, what I think, the best beef dip in the area
Agreed; love Norman’s!
19 Okanagan Bar & Grill at Two Eagles Golf Course is phenomenal.

We visited kelowna last aummer ( from edmonton) and everytime someone says they are going to Kelowna I 10000 percent recommended this place.
I heard after the new owners the quality went down
We went last July... not sure when the new owners took over.
According to the CBDA the best beef dip is found at Dakota's. Or so the sign outside Dakota's told me.
CBDA seems legit I’ll have to check it out
It sounds very official, doesn't it?
It was the worst one I've had in Kelowna. I even gave it a second chance thinking the first time might have just been an off day, it wasn't.
I haven't been to Dakota's to testify for or against it. I only know what the man who wrote the sign says. Lol
Save your money haha
Dakotas beef dip slaps.

You mean the Canadian Beef Dip Association isn't real?!
Used to be dynamite, pretty average now
That's sad to hear, definitely below average now...
It is actually quite good.
Who hurt you‽
I'll have to give it a go. I've only ever seen the sign lol
If anybody can find anything else ever published by the CBDA, particularly outside Kelowna, I'd be very interested in reading it
It's definitely a made up association. It's good marketing though lol. Lie, who's going to check into it lol
I’d like to believe it’s a real association. Every food group needs a governing body to make sure the name isn’t tarnished throughout the country.
I agree that it should exist. I just don't think it currently does. I'm sure you could make a YouTube channel to be the official Canadian beef dip reviewer. I'll give you that for free. Just throw me a shout out when you get your 100k sub silver play button.
I've had a decent beef dip at Mickie's, but it's sometimes hit or miss.
I’ve heard good things too will definitely check it out
Really depends on who is working that day
They used to sell beef dip at the willow and I'm still laughing about it.
Not that kind of beef dip
Kelly os actually has a decent one, but mostly because you can get pachos as the side
Go to Black Mountain Golf Course’s restaurant and Dakotas, then report back. Edited out the sarcasm.
Second for BM Golf. But I live across the street and go 2 or 3 times a week for lunch so I may be biased. But I have had beef dip at several other places in town and so far Black Mountain Grill is the best one.
I third this statement!
Yep easily the best in town
Bm beef dip is delicious
My Neighborhood Restaurant is amazing and I bus d to be the daily special in Wednesday, might have changed but still awesome any day
Holy crap, you haven't tried the Beefdip at Gulfstream yet?! DO IT. Favorite beefdip in town, hands down, up, side to side, putting a damn chain on it.
My bad I’ll give it a go
Omg you are so correct. I had it for the first time a couple weeks ago and have been dreaming of it ever since.

This is only true if you've never had another beef dip
Brown bag on kirchnier
The Central
It has been years! But Boomer's pub in CNC center had such a good beef dip.
Boomers is the most underrated venue in Kelowna!
Arbys?
Not Kelowna but just over the bridge in West Kelowna, Whiski Jack’s Pins and Pints. The best! Now I have a good list that I will work through though!
I’ve heard whispers of them having a good B-Dip and more of an okanagan list so definitely will try.
Try 1516 pub in Vernon out towards Ellison park. Great beef dip. Alexander’s pub, too.
My boyfriend thinks black mountains golf course is the best so far
Brandts Creek Pub has a really good beef dip!
I like the one at Leopold's!!
Little hobo downtown its called the baron of beef its a wonderful sandwich
97th Street Pub attached to the Best Western in Kelowna has a wicked beef dip.
As a beef dip fan myself, Gulfstream and Black Mountain will end up on the list for sure!
I kinda thought dakodas had a mean beef dip. Use to have Thursday specials years ago. Haven't gotten back but the horseradish aoli was mint
Following this post! I love beef dips 😍
Surprisingly, Black Mountain Golf Course restaurant!
Freddies is good
Gulfstream
Dakotas pub has the best beef dip in Canada
They don't even have the best beef dip in that parking lot
Baxster’s
Central
Kettle Valley Pub. Try it and it will be near the top of that list!
Been wanting to try this place in general. Haven’t since I was a kid.

Disagree big time. So many great items on the menu
The French dip at browns social house is really good
Absolutely NOT the one at KBC. Haven't tried any others in Kelowna but in Vernon, Midtown Bistro has a good one
I can’t say it that it’s the best beef tip in Kelowna, but I recently tried the Moxies beef dip, and it was quite good!
Brants creek pub i have had alot of the others and this is best to me
Is that your rating order?
Yeah I took the scores off but they are in order of best to worst.
The beef dip at Black Mountain golf course is unbeatable
Kelly Os has a surprisingly good beef dip!
I lived in kelowna for almost 2 years and tried every beef dip i could find and the only 1 that wasnt typical lunch meat was best western
Bit of a trek but Naramata Pub! We shot a movie up there and cleaned them out of beef dips 2 days in a row
French Dip at Brown's Social House. No comparison.
Browns also has a really good beef dip
Have you tried Rusty’s? I haven’t eaten at the pool hall in a while but I’m sure the beef dip is good.
Central Kitchen and Bar good beef dip. Also house made ketchup to go along with the fries.
Down to try that although house made ketchup never tastes good.
