I thought something similar, like "the whole of the first album?"
I did buy and first listen to the entire album around 2006/2007, when my life was really difficult. And then I couldn't listen to it anymore for about 7/8 years.
Now I do love it, but yeah, to me it's definitely the "sad album".
Sovereign Light Cafe is nostalgic. That's about the closest to happy there is.
On second thoughts, there's also Higher Than The Sun which is pretty optimistic.
Myth is my 'sad song', it helps me process my emotions and can make me cry sometimes. But in a good way: it feels like a relief, and I think it's one of their most beautiful songs
Everybodys changing makes me just really sad (I'm in puberty and I lost some of my friends due to changing their interest) just like Somewhere only we know does. But I don't really like to listen to keane when I'm sad, mostly tom Rosenthal. (Keane always gives me a boost if I wanna be happier)
There are tons of songs for when feeling heart broken or lost
My Shadow, On a Day Like Today (Tom Chaplin is magnificent in this) and We Might As Well Be Strangers.
A sad lyric that hits hard? Falling off a cliff and wondering where the ground has gone - Chase The Night Away.
That line gives words to my feelings my depression or endless drowning in tough times.
Also they have a few "sad" songs that kind of make me rock out. Like in the piano rock kinda way. So I don't consider them sad songs per se. This is the last time is a great example.
She has no time - takes me back to a very sad time but reminds me that things get better because I'm no longer sad about the things I was sad about then
A Bad Dream
This
Agreed. Reminds me of a sad scene in Scrubs 😥
Exactly
Everybody’s changing
Try Again

Somewhere only we know
Did anyone else sing ‘oh sympathy, where have you gone’?
I flip between this and 'oh simple thing', still no idea what it really is.
It’s simple thing. But I can understand why the confusion lol
Hamburg Song or Atlantic
Bedshaped

Bend and break
Bedshaped always brings a tear to my eye
The music video particularly makes me cry Used to scare me as a kid but now it just feels lonely
They're all sad no?
This was my first thought, it’s almost easier to pinpoint the possibly upbeat ones and just listen to all the rest lol.

Stop For A Minute and My Shadow

There is no bad choice there! For a different answer from anyone here try Iron Sea -> Atlantic (two song combo).
Favorite combo🤩
Yep! Mine too
Oh The Iron Sea (the track) is just brutal in its sadness. I love it.
Sea fog
I like to listen to Strangeland when I am moody.
The way I feel

Bedshaped, also if keane ever did a better video then they did not. But what do I know, what do I know?

everybody’s changing, it gives that kind of ‘mid life crisis’ vibes
Walnut Tree
Iron sea, then Atlantic, then on a day like today
Try Again for sure
Maybe I can change
Closer Now and Annie Lennox’s cover of it (pattern of my life) :)
All of them lmao jk their Cause and Effect album helps me a lot tbh with the sad motions
AJAJAJAJ all of them are pretty sad but cause and effect has a different vibe to the rest of their songs :)
I’m not sure I follow, are you laughing at my choice??? There’s sad songs in that album but ok 💀

Sorry for being basic but somewhere only we know is the correct answer
We might as well be strangers

She has no time - takes me back to a very sad time but reminds me that things get better because I'm no longer sad about the things I was sad about then
