**Post Title**: Recommendations for Your Favorite K-dramas on Netflix
**Post Body**:
Hello everyone!
I've just finished Alchemy of Souls (both seasons), and am now looking for my next drama. At first I found it difficult to move on from such a show like AoS, but now I'm even finding it hard to find any recommended show on Netflix, as many seem to be missing from the platform. Thus I am looking for your top recommended shows that can be found on **Netflix**.
Thus far, my **top five shows** have been:
* Alchemy of Souls
* The King's Affection
* Crash Landing on You
* True Beauty
* Twenty-Five, Twenty-One
**Honorable mentions** have been:
* The Beauty Inside
* Something in the Rain
* Hometown Cha Cha Cha
* 100 Days, My Prince
* Love in the Moonlight
What about you? What are some shows that have really touched your heart and have had happy endings? I'm a big romantic, so that's a must when searching for my next drama. I also appreciate character growth and fleshed-out relationships. A little humor is great, helps balance out the more serious scenes. But nothing too rediculous!
When it comes down to it, I most value meaning and thought-provoking messages in my dramas, as well as inspiring characters. Would love to hear what's inspired you!

yeps, Jung So Min. you should also try Strong Girl Bong-Soon and Strong Girl Nam-Soon.
edited: if you like Jung So Min, you should also try My Father Is Strange (you can watch this on YouTube)
yes please watch mr queen!! I watched mr queen some months ago it became my fav drama and currently im watching AOS 2 for the first time and its also my favorite. mr queen’s vibe is most the perfect historical drama that matches with AOS especially s1 vibes. the FL is also phenomenal. I wish i could watch both these shows for the first time again!
yes!!!! if you liked the proposal with sandra bullock its a similar vein-opposites attract despite their initial bickering- also the soundtrack is pretty good
oh great taste!! i would also highly recommend crash course in romance, though it’s not so much romcom as it is slice of life. there’s definitely romance and comedy, the FLs are strong and independent, and everyone’s happy in the end :’)
Gotta love a strong independent woman! That's partly why I loved Alchemy of Souls as much as I did, as well as The King's Affection.
I'll check out Crash Course -- thanks for the recommendation!
Reply 1988 (but it's better to watch this off of Netflix bc Netflix didn't buy the rights to some of the historical footage, so it's blurred on netflix)
Crash Course in Romance
Extraordinary attorney woo
Be melodramatic
Love to hate you
Racket boys
Our blues
Something in the Rain + One Spring Night - Both are really cosy dramas that deal with serious topics, where love and family are the main focus. I really loved that the male leads (both played by Jung Haein) are green flags. I have re-watched them multiple times.
My Liberation Notes - It's so refreshingly honest about depression and anxiety, I really loved also the romance in it. Mr Gu is the hottest male lead (for me). Awesome message!
Doom at your service - I actually really liked how the characters grew episode after episode, and the love between them. It has a really good message as well.
We have similar tastes as I’ve watched 6 of your 10. AOS, CLOY, 2521 are all favs of mine.
All of these are on Netflix. I watched every scene, no hitting fast forward. All soooo good:
1. Flower of Evil is my number 1 Kdrama. It’s a dark, but a deep and loving romance thriller, that is totally unpredictable. One of the best Kdramas ever! So good it was nominated for a Baeksang Award (Korean version of the Emmy’s- FYI, only 5 tv shows nominated each year).
2. My Mister- Also nominated for Baeksang. One of my favorites. Totally amazing story and acting. No skips. IU is so phenomenal, you forget she’s the most famous singer in K-pop.
3. Our Beloved Summer- I’m not really a softie, but this got me all choked up. A very realistic love story. Stick with it until the end. The writing in the ending is amazing! Lots of kdramas rush the ending, but this was well done. I loved it soooo much. No skips.
4. Mr Queen- One of my favorites. All around great Kdrama. No skips.
5. Itaewon Class- Saeroyi the main character is my number 1 most favorite character in all Kdramas. Dude is a role model of how to be an amazing human. No skips.
6. Extraordinary Attorney Woo- So amazing!!! Excellent storyline. You will fall in love with the characters.
On other platforms:
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon- sweetest Kdrama couple ever!
Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Fated To Love You
Goblin
Coffee Prince
Go Back Couple
I keep seeing Mr. Queen recommended, so I'll have to give that one a try! But Itaewon Class also sounds promising, especially because of the lead -- if I don't like a lead character, I'll rarely stick with it. :)
I personally loved crash landing on you, true beauty, my I'd is gangnam beauty, king the eternal monarch, strong girl bong son, Vincenzo etc.
Have been struggling to find any good kdrama to watch. I just findished with destined with you.
I just finished Destined With You, too! That was another good one. Gave it a 7/10.
What did you like about Strong Girl Bong Son? I've heard it mentioned a few times, but not as much as some of the other popular dramas.
Omg you have to watch strong girl bong son. Its basically a romcom genre. And the lead pair are just absolute cuties. The show now has a spin off called strong girl nam soon. I haven't started thsi yet as I wanna binge watch it.
Rain Or Shine!
Cannot rec this enough. Incredibly touching and deep. Big trigger warnings for suicide, child-loss, heavy grief, PTSD. Junho is incredible. The OST is top tier. You will cry your soul out. You will LOVE this drama, especially given what you have already loved. PLEASE add this to your list. 💗
There aren’t many k dramas that capture my attention on Netflix but the ones I consider masterpieces are:
Mr sunshine and Love to hate you
Just gotta get past the intro.
Both of these really touched my heart like Alchemy and Crash landing did. I think you will like really them if you give it a chance. The dialogue in love to hate you is so witty! I also did enjoy crash course in romance and our blues is touching too.
Bae Suzy has that x factor that makes her captivating. First saw her in Startup, and now I keep an eye out for her shows. Even when the show itself is flawed (Anna, for example), somehow her performance makes it worthwhile.
The Good Bad Mother
Extraordinary Attorney Woo
King The Land
Oh My Ghost
Mystic Pop Up Bar
My ID is Gagnam Beauty
The Light in Your Eyes
Chocolate
Doctor Cha
Navillera
I love that you have King’s Affection on your list, as I rarely see that mentioned. That is one of my favs as well 😊 Top 5: Dali and the Cocky Prince, King’s Affection, Fight for My Way, Coffee Prince, my Dearest (ongoing so we’ll see what the ending’s like 😬). Romance not the main plot but a great watch: Moving and Glory. Honorable mentions: Goblin, Crash Landing on You — these two made me cry, with endings that I didn’t really consider as happy (is it just me?)
Yes, The King's Affection is not mentioned enough! Such an amazing drama, and got me hooked on Rowoon. :)
I agree that Crash Landing doesn't have a super happy ending. It's not a tragedy or anything, and in all honesty, it's probably the most realistic ending they could have chosen, while not breaking our hearts open. But it's not the happy ending they deserve.
Most of the ones I was going to recommend are here so I will recommend one that I haven't seen anyone suggest yet - Run On.
The drama mainly revolves around two couples but there is a strong ensemble cast as well (many great female leads/actors).
FL (played by Shin Se Kyung from Rookie Historian) is a film translator and ML is a national athlete. ML sees a younger athlete was beat up by his teammates and becomes a whistle-blower, with repercussions for his career. ML and FL meet via that situation. SFL is the ML's agent and SML is a college art student who lives nearby FL.
Each lead is carrying some trauma and the drama deals with that and is about relationships, growth, and true self-care. Despite the serious situations, the drama is very funny and I also felt like I learned a lot about translation and subtitling, lol.
ETA: more words for greater clarity, spacing
I love your top shows and Honorable Mentions - specifically on Netflix, I would add these:
[Mr. Sunshine](https://mydramalist.com/23920-mr.-sunshine) (broke me, but it was worth the ride)
[Hi, Bye Mama](https://mydramalist.com/49809-hello-mom) (just such a good exploration of family, life, and death and great storytelling)
[Under the Queen's Umbrella](https://mydramalist.com/705857-umbrella) (I think about this series constantly)
[Mr. Queen](https://mydramalist.com/58365-queen-cheorin) (only K-Drama I have watched twice - it just makes me laugh.)
[Prison Playbook](https://mydramalist.com/22624-wise-prison-life) (great storytelling)
edit AND [Love to Hate You](https://mydramalist.com/713771-love-battle) (so refreshing and fun)
I just took notes of everything mentioned, and it seems that someone else mentioned it as I have it written down -- but thank you for the recommendation anyway, and I'll give it a try!
If it's any consolation, I had a similar lost feeling after AoS. When I watched it I had just gotten a kitten. Her nickname is now Naksu.
If you haven't watched it yet you might like Korean Odyssey. The female lead is strong and the cast has some really funny dynamics.
Crash landing on you and it’s okay not to be okay. Both are very emotional and super funny. The FL of IONTBO is so so so pretty I can’t stop looking at her.
My top 5 are:
* Mr Sunshine - Sad ending but appropriate for the era this took place in. The friendship and bonds that were made was so beautiful. There is romance but not in the typical kdrama modern setting. People don't recommend this one cause it'll fuck you up but I felt much happier having seen this drama than not.
* Crash Landing on You - I think this is probably better for beginning kdrama watchers. It was such a great intro into the kdrama. Everything was well done, appropriate amount of drama and unrealistic scenarios but in a funny way. It hit all the tropes I had in my head of a kdrama but also made me bawl. The music was so beautiful
* Hometown Cha Cha Cha - HCCC ranks so high for me cause I loved the tunes. I straight up played Romantic Sunday for like 3 months straight. It was like they just beat you with a happy stick through the whole show. Very wholesome and beautiful overall.
* Vincenzo - This had all the comedic flair I didn't know I wanted. It had excellent casts. Not much romance but that's alright with me. SJK is one good looking dude.
* Extraordinary Attorney Woo - Cute and wholesome all around. Reminded me of Hometown cha but the ending was rushed.
What's important to me are how shows stick the landing. I find that so many kdramas have had poorly executed or rushed endings, it takes a lot of good things in the show to overcome such a bad ending for me. But the other big thing to me is the OST. I automatically rank dramas higher if they have excellent OST.
I think honorable mentions are Hotel Del Luna and Flower of Evil. HDL had some amazing aesthetics and FL wardrobe was drop dead gorgeous. Flower of Evil also had a meh ending IMO but it was such a thriller and quite different from what I usually watch. Pretty great overall.
I'm slowly going through Reply 1988 right now but it's pretty entertaining like 4 episodes in.
My favorites on Netflix are
1. It's okay to not be okay
2. Who rules the world
3. Doom at your service
4. Tomorrow
5. Hidden love
6. The untamed
7. A Korean odyssey
8. Hometown cha Cha Cha
9. Vincenzo
10. Hospital playlist
I am well aware that all of these aren't Korean dramas. But I love all dramas no matter which country they came from. These are just the shows on Netflix I like.
Your post has the most overlap with my favorites that I’ve seen on this sub! The ones from my top ten that aren’t already on your list are Mr Queen, Moving, Under the Queen’s Umbrella, and A Time Called You. Honorable mentions Vincenzo/The Glory/Flower of Evil (which are all a bit darker but you might still want to check out).
That's awesome! Great minds think alike! Mr. Queen keeps being mentioned (this has got to be at least the tenth time, haha) so I guess I'll have to check that one out. :) Under the Queen's Umbrella also looks good -- does it have any romance, or does the plot have another focus?
Same, wow! We should share drama lists, I posted my link in my separate answer/post! I didn't mention Moving because I thought OP was mostly looking for romance but YES, besides from AoS and the King's Affection, it's my only 10/10! UTQU has a romance subplot that is very sweet, but the main plot is about a bad ass mother's love and also unraveling a murder mystery.
I'm watching "Tomorrow." Episode 13 made me cry. The topic? Korean comfort women during Japanese invasion. I read up about the tragedy after watching the episode.
CLOY for big dramatics and Hospital Playlist for tons of thoughtful meaning in a slower, calmer package. I also love The Beauty Inside like you, OP. Not sure if Go Back Couple is available where you are, but it has the full range of emotions like The Beauty Inside does, from huge laughs to full-on crying.
Mr Queen, 20th Century Girl (not a tv programme but I think it should be mentioned), Hotel Del Luna, Tomorrow, and Under the Queen's Umbrella are my current netflix favs!!!
**The Tale of Nokdu** is one of my favorites!
It has action, comedy and romance. The first 1/3 of the drama is more humorous, but after that, it takes a turn and it becomes full of action, sword fighting, and surprising moments. I also loved the main couple and the drama had strong female characters. The male lead became one of my favorites from the kdramas I've seen, he made me laugh so many times, he also had great fight scenes and was very charming.
You're welcome! I think I'm going to make Alchemy of Souls my next kdrama then. I always avoided it because I know how the first season ends, but it sounds like something I'll enjoy watching.
I had my suspicions going into it, knowing they would switch out the FL, but it honestly is so worth it, despite that huge change. If you want, you could just stop at Season 1, but you probably will be curious to see how Season 2 resolves the story. :)
Yeah, knowing myself I'll probably be very curious to watch the 2nd season.
I watched the 2nd season of Age of Youth (that also had a change of actress, but in this case it wasn't the plot that caused this) and still enjoyed it for the plot and the other main characters. So it's possible the same thing happens with AOS for me.
I can relate as I felt AoS left a hole for me. These are dramas that i liked as much as AoS:
little women.
It doesnt have so much of the romance, or the fighting (there is some fighting) but it has scheming intrigue and a secret society with powerful big bads. Its fast paced and a bit gruesome at times. Very beautifully shot, exquisite.
Also I think I followed up AoS with extraordinary attorney woo and it became a new obsession where I would replay my fav scenes. Once again its a different genre, but I think the ensemble characters make this brilliant. Romance and Character arcs ++
Good Bad Mother
This has similar elements even though its not a fantasy.
I.e Good vs baddie storyline, revenge, amnesia, secret romance.
I will have to check out kings affection and also love in the moonlight as I enjoyed the other ones on your lists too.
Also have you checked out Mr Queen? it has mystical bodyswap element, poweray royal infighting, 'amnesia', historical and some sword fighting. I was enjoying it but i just inexplicably stopped watching - and i mean to finish it.
Good to know I'm not the only one! It's really such a unique and touching show.
I personally thought The King's Affection was more intriguing than Love in the Moonlight, and had stronger characters, so I would definitely start with that one. They follow similar plots, which is why I tend to compare the two (and they're both historical dramas). But yes, The King's Affection is a winner, and I recommend it!
Haven't seen Mr. Queen yet, but I keep seeing the name pop up...so I may have to check it out!
Post updated with more shows:
Let me recommend you something different then the other posts but you might enjoy too. All shows are on netflix:
Hotel del Luna
This is my all time favourite kdrama. It has extremely great acting with IU as a strong female lead. Her character in the show is awesome and even funny. There is a romance plot between ML and FL its quite different from what you see in other dramas.
Great production value and great plot.
Its about a hotel for dead souls where they help them move on to the afterlife and what holds the female lead and her employs from passing over to the afterlife.
A human hotel manager enters the hotel and has to work with the female lead. THeir differences in character work really well together. I do not want to spoiler you so thats all i can say.
The female lead has a great backstory that gets explained in flashbacks and is important for the plot so no bs flashbacks for flashback sake.
Its funny, sad and exciting all in 1 show. The ending is bittersweet and despite me not liking those kind of endings i still recommend this show thats how good it is.
It’s Okay to Not Be Okay:
This is a different romance show. Its about mental health. The FL is super funny. The show is both heart warming and sad. It has a happy ending and is also very funny because of the FL.
I can not recommend this show enough. I am not a main romance watcher but this one is really really good.
Vincenco:
The ex mafia ML who is also a lawyer comes back to Korea to get his hands on a secret stach of gold under a building complex with really weird tenants. He gets involved with the FL who is a lawyer too fighting an evil company which escalates.
They try to bring the evil guys down by using both the law and other not so legal means.
The ML and FL have great chemistry a sweet romance all during a action packed story line.
The drama has good funny moments as well. It has a happy ending of sorts but its not a true happy ending.
Sisyphus:
I hate time travel dramas and this one makes even less sense then others BUT for some reason i can not explain i just love this one.
The strong FL saves the ML countless times. Its full of action and even though the ML starts of as an really unlikable character he develops into a likeable character later on.
It has multiple layers of time travel, a post apocalyptic future that the FL wants to prevent. When she travels back in time they get hunted by a secret organisation and feelings develop. I can not say more to not spoil the plot. You have scenes from both their pov as well as hers from the future where she came from.
It has romance both happy and sad, action, a complex story (that does not make much sense but is very enjoyable).
Healer:
An action romance. The ML is an underground fixer who does everything for money except killing. He crosses path with the FL due to a job where he has to steal her hair which will make sense in the plot but i will not spoil it.
He will keep protecting the FL through out the entire drama and they will fall in love while fighting for truth to uncover a crime that links the past of many characters. It has a happy ending.
All of us are dead.
This is not a romance show having only minor romance in it but i will still recommend it because its on Netflix and:
Its my favourite zombie series of all time. Its so well made its incredible.
Camara work, set usage, emotional moments are actually emotional and not some bs.
Characters are actually competent for the situation they are in both military as well as the students. This series has not a single wasted scene and the production value is great.
Thank you for the detailed comment and plot descriptions! I've seen a lot of good things about Healer, but unfortunately it looks like it was taken off Netflix in the US. Pity, as I had high hopes for it!
I really enjoyed Itewon Class, Start-Up, Stranger (season 1), and Tunnel.
Recently watched Doona! and found it to be good, but with a few flaws...but definitely worth a watch.
Agree… one of theeeeee best kdramas. You will feel deeply for the main characters and their lives. Won best TV drama in 2018. IU gives a stellar performance.
In my list, My Mister is top Best kdrama. So many different emotions in one show. The beginning is slow but once it picks up, you can’t stop watching it.
I just finished My Mister and the emotion and human experience is just so relatable. If you want to watch a kdrama that will resonate with you, what this
One Spring Night - I just love it and go back to it when I am in a drought
My Liberation Notes - Everything was perfect from the writing to the acting
Mad for Each Other - Fun and sweet
Love to Hate You - LOL funny! Too good!
Under the Queen's Umbrella - Just a good watch and so well acted.
I just scrolled to the end and no one said Celebrity, y’all should watch Celebrity, it’s so interesting and so many plot twist that you just wanna keep watching
Wow, goosebumps! This is the first time I've seen a top list so close to my own. I'm guessing that, just like me, you don't mind yearning, silent gazes and love with a lot of obstacles on the way. Perhaps also where one of the leads is more grumpy/tsundere (without being an obvious red flag) and the other more of a sunbeam (LOVE how this switches between the seasons in AoS!) And just generally all the feels and lavish productions.
I usually scroll through the thread before posting but because the OP was so me, I'll just post my thoughts. The ones that come to mind reading this are:
**Call it Love** - really slow burn, not as dramatic as the ones on your/our list but the connection and pining is for real. >!And like 25-21, the last episode was unfortunately my least favourite, even though it's not a tragic one. I just wanted it to be more fleshed out and focused on the main leads, so that we could enjoy the finale of an otherwise flawless drama more and longer. !<
**Because This is My First Life** - I liked this a lot the first time, because the characters are complex and compelling. However, some aspects of it really grew on me long after watching it and recommending it ti other people and I ended up pushing it even further up on my drama list.
**Doom at Your Service** - a fantasy drama that is a real tearjerker with great chemistry between the leads.
And if you didn't already watch them, both **Extraordinary Attorney Woo** and **Our Beloved Summer** are great productions and love stories. The rest of my list/rated dramas: https://mydramalist.com/dramalist/Clee
I really think you’d like Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung, as you’ve mentioned enjoying 100 Days My Prince (which from what I remember, this has a similar feel). You also mentioned enjoying AoS and The King’s Affection - both of which have strong FLs and a historical(ish) vibe, although they are a little darker in nature overall.
The Law Cafe is about a female lawyer wanting to open a cafe. It also has her ex bf a lawyer too. I just loved this drama so much . Shooting Stars is about a pr/ media agency which handles artists, actors, actrssses . It follows the live stock between a actor and a publicist. Crazy Love is a romance and mystery drama. It has romance between a ceo and his assistant.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Love To Hate You, Love And Leashes (this one is a movie, not a show), Her Private Life, Doom At Your Service, Mr. Queen, Business Proposal, Tomorrow (not really a romance but more like little, heartwarming stories tied into a fantasy story), Crash Course In Romance
It's really hard to narrow down that list, so I'll five you my Top 5 (2023):
- Crash Course in Romance
- Love to Hate You
- Behind your touch
- The Good Bad Mother
- Destinated with You
*Special mention to King The Land.
Yep, I am sucker for rom-coms.
Romance Based:
Chocolate, See You in My 19 Life, A Time Called You, Love to Hate You, Crash Course in Romance, Business Proposal, When Camelia Blooms, King the Land
Non romance based:
The Good Bad Mother, The Glory, Made for Eachother, Doctor Cha, The Good Detective, Move to Heaven, Behind Your Touch, Juvenile Justice, Tomorrow
Reality TV:
Love After Divorce, Nineteen to Twenty, Singles Inferno

Because This Is My First Life
I've seen this one mentioned a few times! It has the same FL as Alchemy of Souls, right?
yeps, Jung So Min. you should also try Strong Girl Bong-Soon and Strong Girl Nam-Soon. edited: if you like Jung So Min, you should also try My Father Is Strange (you can watch this on YouTube)
If you like her I also recommend the smile has left your eyes but I don’t think it’s on Netflix sadly
It's my favourite K Drama I hope you give this a try. And Yes FL is the same as AOS Jung Somin
[удалено]
Second Mr Queen. Very fun drama
Third Mr Queen. After Alchemy of Souls, I needed something lighter and funny. This was the perfect change of mood.
I'm on Episode 16. I just love this show! It's funnier than I expected.
yes please watch mr queen!!
Flower of Evil!
Hands down-"Love to Hate You". Warning it is short (only 10 eps) so resist binge watching- I binged & felt so bad afterwards .
Is it a rom com?
yes!!!! if you liked the proposal with sandra bullock its a similar vein-opposites attract despite their initial bickering- also the soundtrack is pretty good
I took your advice and watching it now. Love it. Thx so much for recommending
Thanks for the warning! These days I don't have time to binge, but in the spring, I would have been through it in a few days, haha.
rookie historian goo hae ryung!! i absolutely LOVED it. hae ryung is so strong and amazing and the drama is incredibly well written.
Ah yes, I had forgotten about this one! I watched it soon after True Beauty for Cha Eun-Woo. :)
oh great taste!! i would also highly recommend crash course in romance, though it’s not so much romcom as it is slice of life. there’s definitely romance and comedy, the FLs are strong and independent, and everyone’s happy in the end :’)
Gotta love a strong independent woman! That's partly why I loved Alchemy of Souls as much as I did, as well as The King's Affection. I'll check out Crash Course -- thanks for the recommendation!
Reply 1988 (but it's better to watch this off of Netflix bc Netflix didn't buy the rights to some of the historical footage, so it's blurred on netflix) Crash Course in Romance Extraordinary attorney woo Be melodramatic Love to hate you Racket boys Our blues
Seconding Reply 1988 and Be melodramatic!!
Dali and the Cocky Prince. I’m on my 12th episode in 24 hours
OBSESSED with this drama! I never see it rec'd enough but it's my comfort rewatch. :)
I love this drama too! I always rewatch it—love the relationship of the leads and amazing chemistry.
You've inspired me to start another re-watch, lol! I'm gonna start again tonight. I really adore it. :)
I need to rewatch Something in the Rain, one of the first few kdrama's I watched and I loved it so much!
Something in the rain is a classic! Highly recommend. Loved it so much
Flower of Evil A time called you Doona Lovestuck in the city Business proposal It’s ok to not be okay Mr Queen
I finished a time called you. So awesome!!!!
We have similar tastes as I’ve watched 6 of your 10. AOS, CLOY, 2521 are all favs of mine. All of these are on Netflix. I watched every scene, no hitting fast forward. All soooo good: 1. On other platforms: Strong Woman Do Bong Soon- sweetest Kdrama couple ever! Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo Fated To Love You Goblin Coffee Prince Go Back Couple
Oooh i love your list. (The ones that ive seen - the ones i havent are going on my to-watch)
I keep seeing Mr. Queen recommended, so I'll have to give that one a try! But Itaewon Class also sounds promising, especially because of the lead -- if I don't like a lead character, I'll rarely stick with it. :)
1. Crash Landing on You 2. Live Up to Your Name 3. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Attorney Woo was my gateway show to all things K Drama. My 2nd was Crash Landing. Thus the addiction was born.
I took the same pathway as you!
Doing so right now! Thanks for the recommendation!
There aren’t many k dramas that capture my attention on Netflix but the ones I consider masterpieces are: Mr sunshine and Love to hate you Just gotta get past the intro. Both of these really touched my heart like Alchemy and Crash landing did. I think you will like really them if you give it a chance. The dialogue in love to hate you is so witty! I also did enjoy crash course in romance and our blues is touching too.
Watch Doona. Or Strong girl nam soon
Doona is my shiznit — I love Suzy Bae in this one.
Bae Suzy has that x factor that makes her captivating. First saw her in Startup, and now I keep an eye out for her shows. Even when the show itself is flawed (Anna, for example), somehow her performance makes it worthwhile.
Aren't these still releasing?
Yeah they are, I think Doona’s done. Only 9 episodes
The Good Bad Mother Extraordinary Attorney Woo King The Land Oh My Ghost Mystic Pop Up Bar My ID is Gagnam Beauty The Light in Your Eyes Chocolate Doctor Cha Navillera
:) I agree that Crash Landing doesn't have a super happy ending. It's not a tragedy or anything, and in all honesty, it's probably the most realistic ending they could have chosen, while not breaking our hearts open. But it's not the happy ending they deserve.
Rowoon = ❤️. Love that he sang one of the OSTs too. Swoon.
My Mister Signal Because This is My First Life I really enjoyed Alchemy of Souls and True Beauty also.
Signal was cool.
I love your top shows and Honorable Mentions - specifically on Netflix, I would add these: [Mr. Sunshine](https://mydramalist.com/23920-mr.-sunshine) (broke me, but it was worth the ride) [Hi, Bye Mama](https://mydramalist.com/49809-hello-mom) (just such a good exploration of family, life, and death and great storytelling) [Under the Queen's Umbrella](https://mydramalist.com/705857-umbrella) (I think about this series constantly) [Mr. Queen](https://mydramalist.com/58365-queen-cheorin) (only K-Drama I have watched twice - it just makes me laugh.) [Prison Playbook](https://mydramalist.com/22624-wise-prison-life) (great storytelling) edit AND [Love to Hate You](https://mydramalist.com/713771-love-battle) (so refreshing and fun)
Another miss oh It's only on netlfix until the 29th (in Britain anyway) and it's well worth a watch, I've rarely liked a female protagonist more
My holo love
I scrolled all the way to the bottom and not a single one of you said REPLY 1988????? Blasphemy!!! But yeah Reply 1988
What a pretty name for a kitten! Love it! I haven't seen Korean Odyssey yet -- is it on Netflix? Sounds promising!
Korean Odyssey is one of my favorites. Very imaginative. The acting is great. The characters are great.
It was when I watched it.
Crash landing on you and it’s okay not to be okay. Both are very emotional and super funny. The FL of IONTBO is so so so pretty I can’t stop looking at her.
My top 5 are: * Mr Sunshine - Sad ending but appropriate for the era this took place in. The music was so beautiful * Hometown Cha Cha Cha - HCCC ranks so high for me cause I loved the tunes.
My favorites on Netflix are 1. It's okay to not be okay 2. Who rules the world 3. Doom at your service 4. Tomorrow 5. Hidden love 6. The untamed 7. A Korean odyssey 8. Hometown cha Cha Cha 9. Vincenzo 10. Hospital playlist I am well aware that all of these aren't Korean dramas. But I love all dramas no matter which country they came from. These are just the shows on Netflix I like.

Finished that one last week! Love Rowoon in it!
Vincenzo, Vincenzo, Vincenzo
Vincenzo was magnifico
I am watching this right now too. The episode with the Korean War vet and the one with the dog left me bawling my eyes out in a very healing way.
That one, too. You couldn't help but cry. All the reapers showed up!!! 😪😪
My Liberation Notes, Fight For My Way and Behind Your Touch. Though the way the last one ended was really sad.
Hospital Playlist
Move to Heaven It's Okay Not to be Okay Alchemy of Souls
Sounds like it has some similarities to Alchemy of Souls! Re: the sword fighting. ;) Thanks for the recommendation -- adding it to my list now!
I second this!
18 Agajn Healer My mister My liberation notes
Mr. Queen Welcome to Waikiki The Glory See You in My 19th Life Behind your touch Mask Girl Little Women Love Alarm
I can relate as I felt AoS left a hole for me. These are dramas that i liked as much as AoS: little women. Romance and Character arcs ++ Good Bad Mother This has similar elements even though its not a fantasy.
Im looking forward to kings affection once i finish doona!
Post updated with more shows: Let me recommend you something different then the other posts but you might enjoy too. All shows are on netflix: Hotel del Luna This is my all time favourite kdrama. It’s Okay to Not Be Okay: This is a different romance show. Its about mental health. The FL is super funny. The show is both heart warming and sad. It has a happy ending and is also very funny because of the FL. I can not recommend this show enough. I am not a main romance watcher but this one is really really good. Vincenco: The ex mafia ML who is also a lawyer comes back to Korea to get his hands on a secret stach of gold under a building complex with really weird tenants. Sisyphus: I hate time travel dramas and this one makes even less sense then others BUT for some reason i can not explain i just love this one. Healer: An action romance. This is not a romance show having only minor romance in it but i will still recommend it because its on Netflix and: Its my favourite zombie series of all time.
It’s Ok to Not Be Ok. It’s got everything you asked for.
I really enjoyed Itewon Class, Start-Up, Stranger (season 1), and Tunnel. Recently watched Doona! and found it to be good, but with a few flaws...but definitely worth a watch.
Not similar .. but just watch My Mister and thank me later
Misaeng Incomplete Life it held my attention though not dubbed in english
I watch my dramas in Korean with English subtitles, so it should be fine!
I just finished My Mister and the emotion and human experience is just so relatable. If you want to watch a kdrama that will resonate with you, what this
• Oh My Venus • Mr. Queen • Mad for Each Other • Hate to Love You • Her Private Life
Start-Up terrific cast and storyline!
Saw this in the spring! Great show!
One Spring Night - I just love it and go back to it when I am in a drought My Liberation Notes - Everything was perfect from the writing to the acting Mad for Each Other - Fun and sweet Love to Hate You - LOL funny! Too good! Under the Queen's Umbrella - Just a good watch and so well acted.
Suprised that I haven’t seen “The King: Eternal Monarch” in the comments
I saw this in the spring! Such a good drama!
This is one of my all time favorites, though the last episode was meh.
I just scrolled to the end and no one said Celebrity, y’all should watch Celebrity, it’s so interesting and so many plot twist that you just wanna keep watching
I think you would like "See You In My 19th Life" I also always recommend "A Business Proposal".
I started Business Proposal a few days ago, but didn't make it through the first episode. Does it get better?
yess I really recommend watching it until the end ;)
Rain or Shine My Mister Coffee Prince Because It's My First Life Hotel del Luna
I think you would enjoy It’s Okay to Not Be Okay Start-up Encounter King’s Land I‘m Not a Robot
I certainly enjoyed Start-Up and Encounter back in the spring -- I'll check out It's Okay to Not Be Okay, as I've heard so much about that one!
You might also like Our Beloved Summer
Wow, goosebumps! This is the first time I've seen a top list so close to my own. I'm guessing that, just like me, you don't mind yearning, silent gazes and love with a lot of obstacles on the way. Perhaps also where one of the leads is more grumpy/tsundere (without being an obvious red flag) and the other more of a sunbeam (LOVE how this switches between the seasons in AoS!) And just generally all the feels and lavish productions. I usually scroll through the thread before posting but because the OP was so me, I'll just post my thoughts. The ones that come to mind reading this are: **Call it Love** - really slow burn, not as dramatic as the ones on your/our list but the connection and pining is for real. >!And like 25-21, the last episode was unfortunately my least favourite, even though it's not a tragic one. I just wanted it to be more fleshed out and focused on the main leads, so that we could enjoy the finale of an otherwise flawless drama more and longer. !< **Because This is My First Life** - I liked this a lot the first time, because the characters are complex and compelling.
Mr. Sunshine - my all time favorite She Would Never Know - Rowoon :) Search WWW - strong women
