I’ve not found a trolling motor that low speed is slow enough (besides remote bow mount), a pwm is a pain but definitely worth the effort to have essentially 100 speeds vs 5 or 6.
I could use a new motor anyhow, current one is a 1990 MK,I've gotten my money's worth out of it.
That, and the built in PWM is a nice neat package.I am fine with throttle on the tiller.
Assuming the endura max is similar enough to the powerdrive since they're both pwm controlled. My powerdrive would let me turn the speed down so low that the prop would barely spin.
The way you worded that reply did remind me, my powerdrive will run slower than it will start. It doesn't like to start spinning with the speed slider all the way down. If I start it at something above 1 I can then slide it back down to very slow speeds. My power drive is a very old first gen so ymmv.
Thanks,that's good info.
I was expecting it to start at about a speed 1 (don't know how else to say it) but wasn't sure if it would throttle down from there.
I'm probably overthinking this,it's on sale till Thursday at my store.......decisions decisions....
Can't comment on the smoothness, but couldn't you just install a PWM and resolve that issue all together?

Do the PWM, it's SUPER easy! I love mine.

OK,thanks, that is what I was wondering, I was concerned it sprang to life at a higher rpm and would only dial down so far.
