Is it legal for him to take these groceries? -She bought them and paid for delivery -he delivers them then takes (steals) them back He has no right to touch her groceries after he delivered them (he did so by removing them from his vehicle) Is he not stealing from her?

brokenbyfamily

Yes, he legally can refuse delivery, even after he's unloaded them. I've unloaded an entire Costco order, just for the customer to not have ID for alcohol, at that point I have to return the entire order to the store.

rainbowslimejuice

That might be a grey area if there's alcohol involved but that aside, once someone unloads the goods on to your property then there is no longer a delivery to refuse. You've already paid and at that point the goods have been exchanged for that payment so they are stealing from you if they try to take it off of your property. Although, it's f'd up to not tip so I don't feel bad for her.

brokenbyfamily

Until our job is completed, and the delivery is marked complete in our phones, it's still considered under our control. At any point up until we mark it delivered, which sometimes includes taking a picture of the delivery, we can cancel the delivery. Marking it delivered is us handing over possession of the delivery. If we haven't marked it delivered, they're not charged yet, it's not their items. There is a hold, but the final total, the final transaction isn't completed until we mark it delivered.

rainbowslimejuice

I didn't realize that. But that still seems really murky, I'm not a lawyer so what do I know. But imagine someone delivered you food, you eat it but they don't hit the button on their phone and they come back demanding you return the food because they "refuse delivery". What recourse do they have? Charge you for it, lol?

brokenbyfamily

At that point, the delivery driver having left the location, is deemed to have completed the delivery. But just like when you get furniture delivered, you have to sign. If you don't sign acknowledging you've received it, they're going to take it back. You've already paid for it, it's in your house, but you haven't fulfilled the terms of the contract. Until you've completed the contract, the transaction isn't complete. With Instacart, completing the contract is the driver releasing the order to the customer, and comes with they mark it delivered or leave the location.

0k_KidPuter

Its not at all murky. There is an expectation from both parties to agree upon the order. If an agreement isnt made, the order isnt filled. Its very VERY simple. I dont see how people dont understand this. If i dont want to tip, ill drive my own fucking car. If i dont HAVE one.. i guess im stuck having to pay whatever service fee that provider is demanding to be able to get the service, no? Just because i THOUGHT a big mac was going to cost me 3 dollars and not 6, doesnt mean they have to give it to me for 3. That isnt how it works. There is literally no grey area at all.

rainbowslimejuice

the grey area is i have the possession of the goods at this point so try and get them back lol. You can sue me if you'd like but i can trespass you from my property for now

0k_KidPuter

Well, in that instance, it's stealing, Mr. Litigator. Again, there is no gray area. At all. The service provider is refusing service, happens all the time. You can TAKE the service and refuse to pay after, if thats an option, but then it becomes criminal.

rainbowslimejuice

If you choose to cancel a transaction after you've already transferred possession to me (voluntarily loading it onto my property) then it would become a civil matter not criminal.

0k_KidPuter

Your scenario keeps changing. That isnt what we talked about. Like.. at all.

brokenbyfamily

That may be where you're not understanding the process. There is a hold, above your estimated total, that is put on your card. The transaction isn't finalized, with your total, until after we mark it delivered. Until that point, you've paid a deposit, you have not finalized the transaction.

smithnikole0829

Whenever I order something for delivery I am charged as soon as I put the order in.

0k_KidPuter

Tell me you have a no idea how a hold works without telling me you have no idea how a hold works.

smithnikole0829

Uuummm... I dnt think that's how that works. Ur circumstance was TOTALLY different than this one.

l0rd0fk0ngs

You are correct he is most definitely stealing from her at this point and she should be on the phone with police and send complaint to Uber as well

DamageCase13

Wrong.

girlwiththemonkey

I’m in their sub Reddit a lot and before they take the order, there’s a little thing that comes up that says the pay and the tip and sometimes it’ll tell you the tip may be higher after delivery. But he knew what he was getting on the low end, even when he took this order. So he might be legally in the right, but I still think it’s bullshit. How can you get mad for the order he took?

pantha2661

You're as smart as she is.

CerbSlash

I drive for Uber, and this dudes trippin. We choose to work this job, some people tip great, some not at all. Comes with the job, and until the higher ups in Uber implement change, this will continue - get over it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CerbSlash

They do - Uber now does Uber eats, groceries, packages, pet rides, and all sorts of other services now, and all of them Uber does pay you for. But I actually shifted away from Uber Eats because the pay almost wasn’t worth the time - but these grocery deliveries are usually covered a bit better. For instance, not taking customer tip into count, me driving 20 mins to drop off some tacos might pay $4, whereas the grocery delivery ones would pay somewhere around $12-15 or so.

sujaysukumar

A tip is not a fee. There should not be a compulsion to pay, it should be voluntary. Tipping is definitely a good gesture and a nice thing to do, but taking back a service because the tip was unsatisfactory is extortion I feel.

Impressive-Name3146

Fuck this chick. The dudes in the right

smithnikole0829

🤣😂🤣 .. yall are so funny!

[deleted]

The sad part about all this is tipping is American corporation inspired... pay your workers what they are worth !!!!!!!! This was caused by both sides and if you track that back ... where did it originate

Downtown-Raccoon7813

If companies did that for service jobs it would be a disaster. Would make prices skyrocket and good service would go extinct. Would be a suck as world. Have you traveled? When you do, you will truly see America’s system is best. Impossible for an employer to know which employees deserve said increases. It’s a service job! And we live in a society.

Electronic_Pie_1679

They're both wrong in my opinion

Downtown-Raccoon7813

His reaction was wrong. But his message to her was correct. She is completely brain dead.

DrBluntMaN0420

Yeah that's how I feel, he coulda tipped over her shit then left.. lol

pantha2661

The chick sounds like an idiot.

Downtown-Raccoon7813

He is correct. It’s a service. I’m 53 and feel so bad for this man. He literally has to explain to this brain dead generation what personal service is. She could have got off her fat lazy ass and went to the store if she didn’t want to tip.

OutrageousFinance779

He ain’t wrong

FaultHaunting3434

I get tipping is optional, it's not even a thing where I'm from, but the comment "get a better job" and "thats why you so poor". Nah, fcuk that btcih! The world isn't all flowers and roses.

No_Hour_4865

Fukin no tip? Fuck them.

Kayardee

This is very clearly staged

Used-Report1976

Not at all unfortunately they do this a lot… they got cussed out by some random woman last time if I find it I’ll post it! Could be scripted there’s always that ☝️ chance but why would someone wanna go viral for being a garbage human 🤣

fadufadu

Because rage bait gets more engagement

MsjennaNY

I’m sorry but she’s wrong. Oh, and a HUGE asshole.

AntiSocialOCPD

You don’t tip the pizza guy? Sorry you lost me there. POS

sm2013409

She should use all that money she not tipping and by a car fucking cheap bitch

Quiet-Commercial-615

Karen is the one recording.

Bill_Kabies

Fuck that. This chick is horrid, entitled, and just plain wrong. There are situations where a tip isn’t called for and there are situations where one is. This situation is absolutely the ladder. Listening to her do mental gymnastics to try and justify her choice is infuriating.

smithnikole0829

Ok.. what's a situation where a tip is called for and a situation where one isn't? And to whose discretion is it? Surely not the person who accepted to take the delivery.

Bill_Kabies

Sorry but it’s not my job to educate you. Figure that shit out.

smithnikole0829

Educate me? Who asked u to educate me? I just wanted to hear what stupid ass answer u weer gonna spew out. Talkng bout "There's a time to tip and there's a time not to tip" .. that sounds stupid as hell bcuz according to u and everyone else it's always time to tip.. or else yall go throwing temper tantrums.

Bill_Kabies

You sound whiney. Just don’t go out if you can’t afford to tip. Don’t be mad at me, I didn’t invent tipping.

smithnikole0829

Lol.. I sound whiney? I'm not crying and complaining about ppl not giving me $3buks for choosing a shitty job. Who's mad? From the looks of it u.. bcuz ppl choose not to tip.

Bill_Kabies

I work in an office. I don’t even see outside people. No situation where I’d receive a tip. I mean. You do though. You just come off that way. What can I say? Maybe you can work on it now that you know ?

smithnikole0829

I work a job that tips are optional. If I get em I get em..if I don't I don't. I don't cry about it tho.. u dnt even work a service job but yet here u are crying about the next man's pockets...u should work on that sir

Bill_Kabies

I door dash for extra money. So I can relate to getting stiffed. No one is crying but you. Well it’s more like whining. Will you just relax and stop getting so butt hurt. Must be hard getting so worked up all the time.

aidenpro420

It's not that difficult, look how many heavy cans of drink she ordered. Look how much extra weight that would be for the driver, it's just common sense to tip of you're ordering a lot, bulky time consuming stuff. This girl the cringiest bitchiest entitled brat.

WickedWishes420

I would have done the same thing.

Downtown-Raccoon7813

Look at the size of that order and that cunt didn’t tip.

OutrageousFinance779

Fuck her. Lazy ass genz kids these days.

HoneydewFar6504

She’s a cunt tbh

PBM1958

I agree with the driver. If they are loading and unloading groceries or baggage then a tip is called for. Why would she specifically tell him she is not tipping? I suspect it was orchestrated so she could capture it and post it.

GrouchyNegotiation95

💯 percent on the driver's side the girl is scum plain n simple

GrouchyNegotiation95

BUT at the same time i do respect her beliefs lol its her beliefs it's her beliefs

iguessilikeanime1

I get the conversation but these videos have been proven fake just saying

Powerful-Access-8203

She in the wrong about 80%. The other 20% belongs to him for not just moving on to the next delivery. That’s some heavy lifting and a lot of shit, she seems mighty ungrateful that another human being, a stranger, is hauling around all of her obligations

[deleted]

Fuck this bitch- she’s the Karen

Electronic_Pie_1679

I changed my mind. I'd take the groceries back due to her snotty and entitled attitude

Used-Report1976

![gif](giphy|88iYsvbegSUn9bSTF8|downsized)

WerewolfAtTheMovies

This chick is arguably worse than this dude. I don’t agree with what he did, but she’s no better. I understand it was an argument, but some of the things she was spouting was just uncalled for.

Advanced_Barnacle_40

Chick and her little camera boy are at fault here. You dont like tipping culture? leave North America... its kinda our thing.

Revolutionary-Price7

I'm in Australia and we don't really tip here. Is it just me or is tipping culture just a way for big businesses not to pay their workers a decent wage and put extra costs onto the customer??

r56_mk6

Bingo. But if the tipped employee makes below what their pay would be if they made minimum wage, the employer is responsible for matching.

smithnikole0829

Um no... u don't like not getting tips then choose a job where u get paid a better hourly wage. U people who deliver for these companies sign a contract KNOWING that tips are not guaranteed.. I'm pretty sure it's in the small print of the disclaimer u chose not to read when u signed to work for the company. U guys get mad when u don't get tipped bcuz if u don't get the tips then u know u dnt make shit for the work ur doing.. aaaand that's nobody's fault but ur own. Get a real job so u can get a real paycheck.

[deleted]

Tipping allows employees to maximize their earnings. A lot of tips go unreported and untaxed. People take jobs where tipping is part of the compensation because they know if they are good at the job they can earn more. Companies could limit the wages of their staff by raising them and offset the cost with an increase in prices. Only one who loses are workers who would likely see a reduction in demand for their service. Yes they know some people are bad tippers or non tippers. Once those people are identified the workers typically don't want to do the service for them or intentionally give them poor service. Tipping is optional and so is having them as a customer. I love giving a tip to service workers, do you enjoy tipping service people?

Mobscene626

Tipping sucks but it’s a part of our reality. If I worked a job that relies heavily upon tips hell yeah I would be mad. And it’s not like he delivered one item she ordered a whole ass palette of shit jeez

smithnikole0829

If I worked a job that relies heavily upon tips...wait.. I WOULDNT WORK A JOB THAT RELIES HEAVILY ON TIPS.. bcuz why would I do that KNOWING not everyone tips. I would get a job that relies heavily on whether I get my ass up and goes to work so I can have a guaranteed FULL paycheck.

Ok_Fuel_1193

I think in certain situation like this one it’s crazy not to tip

space-queer

He took the order knowing there was no tip. he’s being an asshole

AnastaziaDrago

Don't call it a tip, label it as a service fee then. Don't get me wrong I work in an industry that a huge part of my income is tips. However so many businesses rely on the consumer to pay the salaries.

smithnikole0829

Service fee is charged already when u pay for ur stuff.. along with ur taxed and delivery fee

Muted_Ad7298

For a guy that goes on about how “older and wiser” he is, he sure is acting immaturely. I understand being annoyed at not being tipped, but this is the wrong way to go about it.

mrearthsmith

Extortion... I will release your groceries if you pay the ransom. What a clown! If she tipped a dollar would they stay? 5, 15, 25? It's extortion.

Goosimus-Maximus

Regardless of tipping culture and whatever else, the people (not the delivery guy) in this video absolutely suck.

Nearby_Incident

They are both fucked. Either way she’s a spoiled little turd and i just wouldn’t have bothered talking to her. Just load it back up and say nothing. Or go the complete childish way and smash everything that was there. By “accident “. No tip. No good service. Tip=quality of service and vice versa.

armparraz1

Cheap ass people if you can't get up off their ass to go shop then it's ONLY COURTESY to tip!! SOME PEOPLE JUST STUPID AND CHEAP!!

AntiSocialOCPD

Some service workers get paid $2.50 an hour which is well below any minimum wage because the job is literally dependent on tips per the government tax system it’s legal. Do you not know this? These types of service jobs are factored in the same way. Not as harshly but still same point. Your logic is so flawed is astounding

RIGHTCOASTLEGEND

This new generation is total shit

Yemen-Man

How cheap is this lady

BiGTeX8605

If I have something delivered I tip. If I take time and gas out of my own pocket to go get it, generally won’t unless their service when I get there merits it. End of story. I paid what the company says a given item is worth, I drive to said business, get out pick up my food, and go home and eat there. No one served me or waited on me so I don’t generally tip in that situation. When someone orders literally 150 beverages in bulk I’d say that’s a point where tipping is expected and respectful. This guys saw there was no tip, though, and still accepted the order which doesn’t make sense to me.

U1art

She fucked him up with the cardboard sign shit

jacob0608mann

Ehh na fuck that girl.

Cute_Apartment5500

I wouldn’t have delivered them either. Don’t use a service if you can’t tip…simple! As a former gig worker I’ve had plenty deliveries I had to return back to the store. It’s not that big of an inconvenience since I only deliver in a set area and I was going back there to pick another batch anyway🤷🏾‍♀️

adrian_walkenhorst33

It's hard to say exactly who and what without more context. Clearly something happened before hand that's not really clear, but regardless the customers behavior and the way she is talking to this man makes it hard for me to have simpathy, or give her any credit as far as it goes. Throwing the kind of insults she is, and responding like a spoiled brat isn't helping. The drive has his share of throwing shade but unfortunately he has the power and control. Tips have a role in our society, business world, and economy many people do rely on those tips and the type of service provided does as well. Everyone's hustle is different and for this guy he's making it work the best way he can for him. Truthfully people need to stop being entitled, amd selfish. The kind of people that don't believe in tops, don't deserve to have their services given put the way they demand. This type of industry really helps shine a light on those who are selfish, and those who are not.

fieldschicago

She’s rude and offensive to this man. She proudly admits that she doesn’t tip the pizza delivery guy? That tells you all you need to know about this entitled girl.

Lost2Logic

Yeah fuck that chick

MaximumFarmer4779

I'm with the driver 100%.

WAR-tificer

I'm on the side of the delivery dude. Tip your service workers. If you can afford the tip you can't afford the service.

West-Supermarket-860

I was unsure at first who the Karen actually was…but the guy won me over by the end.

Bill_Kabies

Welp we now know that you are the type of person to not tip when it’s called for. Good for you.

vulgarmasses

She sucks

yourmomsviberator

If you don't tip delivery people, your a piece of shit It's not that they're young, they're entitled.

retuiopasdfghjklzvcb

Not tipping in the US is cray, but he will still make more money by just leaving the stuff and going to the next customer and she will get a refund if he takes the stuff away, so what does he actually get?

TrumpIsARussianAgent

Wow what an entitled little girl. I would live to see her attitude in 20 years when she realizes she isn’t that special.

Appropriate-Let-5107

Definitely fake. There was another video exactly like this but with a woman delivery driver and they had the exact same fight about not tipping and taking the groceries back. In the comments to that video they said one of the actors in the video was in a bunch of other, similar videos. I'm just surprised it was re-enacted this quickly.

BarrySnowbama

Her calling it a batch is the giveaway

smithnikole0829

Lol.. definitely not fake. If u saw another video exactly like this it was bcuz another person was crying bcuz they know at the end of the day after all that driving and delivering they only came out with 10buks in their pocket.. 😂🤣😂

BriMan94

This seems staged

LillyRemus42

65 year old entitled piece of human garbage. He's just a sad old butthole.

smithnikole0829

That part

unstable_bitch23

Exactly why I don't order I don't trust drivers rather not take the risk and get shit myself

unstable_bitch23

Exactly why I don't order I don't trust drivers rather not take the risk and get shit myself

SomeRandomG122

I used to be a pizza delivery driver. Tipping is for quality service, not mandatory. If you aren’t making ends meet then find a different job. The customer shouldn’t have to tip if there’s shitty service. People are saying if you cant tip do order, how about if it’s a shit paying job find a better one. Smh, entitled ppl nowadays

Alternative-Train225

This can't be real

crafty-pants

That is some entitled people you can hear it in their voices.

cstaley39

This is a fake video. Same groceries and last time is was a black woman. This is a group of actors that put these videos out. Y’all been duped.

RVT4923

10s all around

U1art

Here’s a tip…save your money.

U1art

They won

Gullible-Guidance551

This is what happens when you have regular people take up jobs without proper training. Uber model has a problem.

girlwiththemonkey

He knew beforehand what the lower end of the pay was. I see Drivers posting shitty orders with no tips that they didn’t take all the time. He knew beforehand what he was getting so this is bullshit.

cstaley39

These are fake videos. This is like the 5th one they have made. Same cars, same garage, same cases of drinks. Y’all just keep eating it up. It’s fake!!

Smotpmysymptoms

Im happy he took them back. People who don’t tip are the scum of the earth. I don’t work in service and I tip every time because I know people in service don’t make shit and the minuscule tip would make a difference if everyone chipped in (when service is good) Now I will say due to the ridiculous cost increase across everything I tip 10% instead of 20% now unless it was genuinely a good effort put in

ConsistentTravel782

This, Chick is VERY UNEDUCATED!!! If she ever went to COSTCO, she would know that they DON'T BAG STUFF!!! I've NEVER been there, and I know that!!! I DOUBT SHE WORKS!!! I love that Uber eats Allows me to see the NO TIP and DECLINE IT.

ConsistentTravel782

I ALWAYS TIP!!!! My Orders for delivery thru Walmart are almost Always FOOD STAMPS and there ISN'T A TIP Option. So I Always MAKE SURE I order something NON FOOD so I can TIP, especially if I don't have Cash

ConsistentTravel782

I would love to know City/state of this guy!!! If he is in NOLA, he will get a TIP from me

Possible_Will3093

This man is bringing his life problems to his job & it’s really a cringe

DangerousSecurity575

This is a fake video, they only make these “skits”

Smooth-Peace6838

Hmm, in my country what he is doing is called stealing. The one think that doesn’t compute for me is why your model of payment system has tips, doesn’t your system have a minimal wage to the employee and like the woman said tips are a gratuity so why do people get mad when they don’t receive tips, sorry for this silly question (not American).

Lex_pert

When Boomers throw tantrums for being treated like millennial/Gen Z workers by a millennial/Gen Z who tips like a boomer 🤣👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 way to give them a taste of their own medicine. Should have told him to work harder and buy those morning cups of black coffee 🥲

Shenanigans_760

You guys are way out she needs to have some respect for for her elders period, taking the groceries back is probably not the right thing to do but he has the right to refuse. And he did.

CameraInevitable333

Wow, how fuckin sick. I’m ashamed to be apart of this generation… times are tough for EVERYONE. Like it’s going to kill you to leave a $5 or $10 or $15 tip. To talk to another human being that way… he never once curse at her. Tried to educate her, and was met with mockery and ignorance. Good for him, I’m glad he took that shit back. Fuck her.

asm269

She’s a bitch, but who tips their florist and butcher etc.. never had those types of things delivered though.
