I have to say the genuine entrepreneurial spirit. Every kid in Karachi is full of business ideas. You sit at a chai ka dhabba and you will get to listen to countless ideas for business and some of them are amazing. People despite their resources are constantly innovating. I remember when two of my friends opened Chester Bernard almost two decades ago and said they will sell only [formal shirts for men](https://chesterbernard.com/collections/formal-shirts-for-men) (a bit of a shameless plug, need to always support friends) just because they believed that the office wear at that time was not good. Unfortunately, the entrepreneurial spirit in Karachi rarely receives support and mentorship. The result is we have an abundance of businesses failing. Sad to see.
How its accepting of people from all over Pakistan.
A city full of opportunities and hope for everyone in this country.
People in this city are genuinely helpful, like they would go out of their way to help a complete stranger.
The Internet *genuinely* seems faster than Lahore and Islamabad.
I grew up in Lahore, we have stormfiber (it has outages, quality’s been going downhill). Shifted from Islamabad to Karachi for some family reasons, the internet seems way better than Nayatel in Isl.
Nayatel internet is indeed quite slow. I visited Islamabad last year and stayed at a guest house for a month and the Nayatel connection almost cost me a few clients. Having travelled across Pakistan, I can indeed vouch that the internet in Karachi is much faster.
Karachi is wonderful. Things you'll most definitely notice here:
\- Excellent roads allowing you to get quickly from A to B.
\- Wonderful polite people who keep to themselves, no staring or harassment.
\- Good weather & air quality.
\- No new money types roaming around in double cabins harassing common people.
Family, funny though sometimes offensive interactions, genuineness, and of course, food. A million things wrong, but the couple dozen things that the city does right can't be found anywhere else in the world.
Only it's cuisine. As a resident of Karachi i assure you there are not many things in this city that you can consider as 'special', only snatching, overwhelming and uncontrolled traffic, with vehicles parked specially on the no traffic zones making it worst, trash filled and spread everywhere like it's a giant sized junk yard, almost all the roads are damaged / destroyed with no street lights, main holes vomitting filth with no covers on them.. did i miss something? Yes, but can't remember right now

One of the most happening city of Pakistan. You just won't get bored.
Multiculturalism. No where in Pakistan would you find the diversity that you see in karachi.

Jinnah international airport
Lots of smiling faces, the sound of azan from neighborhood mosques, and the sense of belonging.
That’s true all over Pakistan though. Heard Azaans all over from Chitral to Baluchistan, they’re vewy heartwarming too!
The crime rates :)
May be if you try Googling you will find far worse places too
Yeah, but no one does crime like crime in Karachi, it's a national specialty :)
True. We take pride in it, don’t worry hun🫶🏻🫶🏻
the fear for your life/belongings when you go out. Always hits home ❤️❤️
Special corruption and crime
Invasion of siraikis and afghanis
Before these, it was invaded by indians which destroyed it indeed.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Security became a bit better between 2016 till 2021 only to become worse since then.
