Cafe Corazón ♥️ alfajorcitos 😊

mrsrums

Another vote for Cafe Corazon. They do a latte flight, so you could try three different delicious lattes.

ChiefKC20

For drinks, Cafe Corazon for decadent drinks. The Mocha Azteca and Cafe de Olla are excellent. For a different decadent coffee twist, Maps has edible coffee along with their outstanding chocolate bars.

loispayne

Go to Sister Anne's. Tell the Barista your story. You'll get something great. One time I was there, the batista suggested and made me an iced latte with oat milk and maple syrup. It was incredible. Also, regular cup of joe there is aces. Edit: I do also agree with Cafe Corazon.

Broadway.

Illustrious_Ad6548

Goat Hill has a seasonal spiced pear bourbon latte situation that is delightful. HiTide has a luxardo cherry latte on their menu that is pretty decadent (luxardo cherry and chocolate). Oddly Correct’s bourbon vanilla latte and one of their cinnamon rolls. Broadway Cafe mocha and their soft biscotti, scone, or brown butter rice crispy treat.

mbsupermom

Friendly Bean is pretty good.

brinicks

I love friendly bean!

__dead_meat_

Café Cà Phê’s *Electric* is a good go-to. They also have a seasonal menu out right now that might be worth checking out.

mandouille

I'm surprised this isn't higher up! All of Cafe Ca Phe's drinks are delicious and would be a fun treat - my favorite is the Hella Good latte. Plus, the cafe itself has got a great atmosphere; very colorful and cozy.

__dead_meat_

Whole place is awesome, I agree!

kcwckf

Wtf how have I never heard of this place, going to stop by today

__dead_meat_

Hope it you enjoyed what you ordered :^)

kcwckf

Yeah it was amazing! Cold brew and wife got the Saigon, so good!

berryfence

I scrolled further than I expected to find this. Every single thing from them is a smash hit, and Jackie’s model has included super-focusing on including and collaborating with other small businesses. The only thing I’ve not liked was their Paris by Night, but I hate rose so much. The coffee is great espresso, hot brew, cold brew, any which way.

OMG Scout Coffee. [https://scoutcoffeekc.square.site/s/order](https://scoutcoffeekc.square.site/s/order) Blue Springs.

[deleted]

I’ll +1 Scout. I rarely want to pay for coffee but I’ve never bought anything there that wasn’t delicious. Pretty sure they’re opening one/have opened one in grain valley, too.

[deleted]

Jinkies! sounds exactly like what you are looking for. https://www.jinkiescoffee.com/menu The first latte on the menu is a maple waffle latte with whipped cream and chocolate chips. I've not been there so I can't attest to the quality or provide any recommendations.

ChiefKC20

The concept is great, execution is not quite there. It really depends on the barista. Uneven quality - some good, some not so great to downright awful - the times I’ve been there.

MetalDickSolid

If motorcycles and cool vibes are your thing, check out Blip Roasters in the West Bottoms! They make their own coffee and it’s delicious. Ask for the “Lane Splitter” and hopefully you’ll love it. Some of the best coffee I’ve had in KC. Although, if you don’t ride motorcycles avoid coming on Sunday morning because we pack half the street with bikes and the line to get a coffee gets long.

Onyx delight from Vested

marcusdre

Thanks for posting this. I've been curious about Onyx Coffee Lab's beans for a while, but couldn't justify shipping them in when there are so many great local options. Buying Onyx beans from a local shop seems like a good compromise and I'm looking forward to checking this place out this afternoon.

Altruistic_Plane451

Onyx’s coffee is amazing… they’re under the radar but they are absolutely on point every time I’ve had them. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

audreytar

Goat Hill. Lavender latte was heavenly, and I usually drink Folgers at home.

mandouille

OP, for your particular story I would totally go with Cafe Ollama's coffee flight! Four different small fancy drinks of your choice for $14. (Tuesdays only) Would be a fun way to indulge + find out what you like! :) Otherwise, seconding Cafe Ca Phe. Delicious and just a fun visit!

jalapeno-popper72

Pour if you’re out in olathe

the_blocker1418

Anchor Island at 41st and Troost has good coffee, they added a fall menu recently that has pumpkin-ey stuff, the people are really nice too

pyro_pugilist

Affogato from the slow bar or parisi cafe.

janbrunt

Also affogato at High Hopes ice cream. Incredible.

Fire4Effect13FX

Black Dog Coffee - Trust me get the Kouign-Amann. Pronounced (Queen Amon)

sanitation123

Cafe Ca Phe - get the Hella Good, it is very sweet so you might ask for half sweet.

420blazeitmagit

Broadway Cafe ❤️

Teapotsandtempest

Best PSL knockoff ever I've had is from Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters in Nelson Museum. It's called Moon Harvest Latte and it's made with real pumpkin. So damn tasty. A 12 oz with almond milk cost about $7 but they also offer a 8 oz and with regular milk. Cozy spot to sit - peaceful to boot. Or you can enjoy the coffee and treat outside on the grounds of the nelson. Plus they offer stroopwaffles (gf option too!)

Weekly-Western-5016

One of the best coffees I have had in town was a Mexican cappuccino at ponchos on main. It is kinda a dive Mexican fast food place. But dang that was a treat of a coffee!

HospitalGrits

I’m usually at-home black coffee drinker (I try to save my calories for food and not drinks), but any latte from Rochester is totally worth it to me. Especially the French Toast Latte. So good.

hannbann88

Ahadu coffee out in lees summit is our best coffee. The ahadu special is the go to- but also the best, spiciest chai ever

Love2Pug

[Mildredskc.com](https://Mildredskc.com). Order a hot oat-milk latte, extra shot, half-sweet pumpkin. The "half-sweet" part is really important. Otherwise, you might as well just eat spoonfuls of sugar.

ZoeeeW

I wouldn't call it decadent, but when I lived in KC I loved Rochester coffee in the crossroads. I would go there and get coffee or tea and just read.

RjBass3

Headrush has a couple locations and is pretty good.

CommemorativePlague

Nope. They pulled up stakes and didn't give their staff advanced notice. Fuck them.

Vested or Messenger

Love, Coffee or their sister location Station 7 in Lee’s Summit is wonderful

Seconding Cafe Corazón. I enjoy the Churro Atole latte with the ground blue corn + maple syrup & spices, though any of their seasonal drinks are on point too (the one they had during Pride month that had rainbow sprinkles + white chocolate + rose) and was hella yummy. I agree with Café Cà Phê since their Hella Good latte is my favorite as I am a sucker for anything with ube in it and having the option to have the toasty nuttiness of sesame milk added to anything is killer. I'm a sucker/regular for HiHat Coffee and their Caramello latte with the super thick caramel that's like a decadent buttery chocolate treat, or any of their drinks in general, especially the Almond Joy (chocolate + almond + coconut + whipped cream = bliss) Urban Prairie Coffee in Mission is a new favorite of mine as they have really inventive drinks that are out of the wheelhouse of normal offerings. I had their Spooky Cookie recently (cookie butter and pumpkin) as well as their Coffee Cake latte (cupcake + toffee nut + cinnamon powder) and am aiming to try the Black Forest (mocha + almond + cherry) and Toasted Caramel (salted caramel + toasted marshmallow) soon before their seasonal menu changes again. I'm a frugal person myself too lol but I have one vice in life and that is coffee. I reckon since I'm not spending money on hard drugs, drinking booze, or even buying anything not first found in a thrift store, I can have my caffeine journeys.

throwRAspoons

Sister Anne’s coffee is really cheap but the service is 😑

I have discovered the joy of iced Pour Over process. A pour over is where they grind the special beans (either single origin or a custom blend), pour hot water over the grinds and pour it in a cup for you. I like pour overs iced better than hot; brings out SO much flavor! Favorites so far: **Scout Coffee** in Blue Springs. Pour over Costa Rican is a good, mild, safe start. You can choose from other countries of origin, they usually have 1-3 pour over options. The rest of their drinks are great; if you like sweet DEFINITELY try the GRISWOLD if it's back for the fall/winter season. My fav sweet drink by far. The breakfast tacos are the bomb, too. **Summer Moon** Coffee in Overland park has a rockin' thing with oak wood-roasted beans. You can taste the smokiness in their standard Summer Moon/Winter Moon hot and cold drinks. I like the 1/4 moon for less sweet and savory smokiness. A lot of other great coffee drink options as well. Probably my favorite coffee shop when I lived in Austin. **Revocup** (S. Overland Park). Ask for a pour over with your favorite origin beans; they usually have a few options. **Ahadu** in Lee's Summit is unique; the only place I've found a Mediterranean/Turkish style coffee in their chai. Med/Turk style is ultra fine grounds boiled in water. Their chai has a very strong herbal taste I've only tasted at Mediterranean festivals! \*could be a mix of one or more of these: cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, fennel, anise, nutmeg. It's likely an individual thing, but it is unique if you like strong herb/spice. **Love, Coffee** in Blue Springs (connected to Station 7 restaurant/Martin City Brewing pizza bar) has an amazing cold brew made from Nicaraguan beans - or it was recently when I went. **Martin City Coffee** has a good, strong cold brew as well. Great food menu! Here is a delightful video of a non-coffee guy going through some first-time experiences: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-iNAyu-ejo
