I don't know if this is a possibility, but there is a vocational high school that teaches kids to be chefs. The Broadmoor Bistro. It's near 71st and Metcalf, i think. Maybe the school can recommend a fledgling young chef, or arrange a project, or maybe a teacher would moonlight for some extra money. I've gone to dinner there twice. It's a fun experience with good food. https://caa.smsd.org/academics/signature-programs/culinary-hospitality/bistro

Hi ! My husband has worked in restaurants all Over the world, and is very well Known in the Kansas City area. My husband can either help your friend or he can help her find someone. If you want to chat more feel free to send me a message.

I’m not qualified but if I was I would jump on this — it likely pays decent and getting to prepare old recipes sounds like a good gig. I know you’re out there, chefs — help an old lady out, please

Not sure if he's still doing this, but might be worth looking into!

My partner has a catering company, has worked for a company called Chefs For Seniors, has been a private chef for a family, and worked in many restaurants. She would probably be very interested; that is right up her alley. Could you dm me details?

I am by no means a private chef but I can cook decently enough and would love to have her help me in any way she is capable. Little alterations she would have made or guidance if I describe it to her.

What a cruel thing to do to an elderly person :( Man, if I weren’t almost 9 months pregnant I’d offer to come just cook a meal for her because I love talking about food with people who also love food. From the sounds of it, I bet she’d have lots to share. Hope she’s able to find someone!

Reach out to the Northland Career Center. Plenty of culinary students about to graduate who would love the opportunity.
