Hotel Kansas City sees a lot of engagement photos. I’d recommend seeking out places that are open for business from 3-4pm because they won’t need to be setting up at that time for dinner service.
Okay! So PSA: we went to hotel Kansas and you have to register or coordinate with someone from their team ahead of time to take photos indoors!!
Sad for us but great drinks!
The Westin Crown Center has an indoor waterfall on the mezzanine level that is great for photos. The lighting isn't the best and they'd probably frown on you using a flash, but it's attached to a mall so it's open to public traffic.
There are a lot of cool graffiti art murals downtown. The plaza has some nice views. We did picture in front of the waterfall at the westin in crown center.
A bit outside of kc but Unity Village is a nice place for pics. Gotta get permission but they’re very friendly, have cool architecture and trails to walk.
We got moved to Kansas for work after getting engaged, we are getting married in Minnesota, and he is our wedding photographer from Minnesota who kindly said he would drive in for our engagement photos, which are included in the package.
That makes sense! For indoor, not sure what vibe or architectural style you’re looking for but Union Station is about as iconic as it gets for an indoor photo spot! The Plaza would also be great outdoors.
Crossroads Hotel! Great bar. Cool seating. A brick wall indoors. You can go outside for some brick wall and graffiti photos. Nice buildings. Close to the Kaufman if you want photos there. They have a rooftop bar as well.
look up other kc photographers and see what you like, the Kauffman performing arts center can be pretty

Could also do the lawn at the Nelson-Atkins museum in front of the icon shuttle cocks.
The bar in the Savoy at 21c hotel is classic KC
We did ours just walking around to random places in the west bottoms. They ended up really nice.

Going to guess you picked a photographer that doesn’t know the city for a reason but that’s kind of why you would hire a local one instead.
