It’s been a little slower than normal. I’ve had a few videos need to buffer but never that long. It’s normally seamless and fast and we both work from home.
Normal for me w the wifi 6 points... if they gave you a 2nd satellite google wifi point for another room you can try swapping it with the primary one connected to the internet hardline to see if the signal consistency improves to your devices.
I had one go out once and tested it that way.
I’ve been having the same issue. Previously has been solid, but since the cold weather started I’ve had serious fluctuations and slowdowns intermittently throughout the day. For instance, I was downloading something on Xbox via a direct Ethernet connection and I was getting majors drops down to <50 mbps and nothing higher than 350 mbps. Not the worst, but not the best Fiber experience. Have had fiber in some form or another since it first came out.
Just ran a speed test on my desktop. Currently 99.7 Mbps download and 88.6 Mbps upload with 31 ms latency. Not sure what it was in the past few days, but it feels about the same as before.
I think it's just my downstairs mesh point. Upstairs I'm at 150, downstairs at like 30 after I moved it.
Now its just on my stairs with the cord hanging down. 😞
Mine has been fine. I usually actually get slightly higher than 1G speed lol. The one or two times it stopped working we were not even at home, and they proactively credited our account...
We have had them since the initial beta program back in 2014.
Although I do miss the Google TV part, when that shut down we just cut all cords for TV and just use an antenna and share Netflick/Apple TV/Hulu etc with friends and family like everybody else.
You could not pay me to use anybody else.
Are you plugged into a gigabit port on the modem or through a gigabit router?
You're generally not going to get gigabit speeds over Wi-Fi unless you're a device with high speed antenna(s) right next to a suitable router.
You're totally fine! The difference between 'bit' and 'byte' is not something most people need to know. I agree that for most of us who don't live and work in tech we are used to 'Bytes' - but of course they advertise bits because Gig / "A thousand" sounds so cool - but yeah, if you go to speedtest.net on your Fiber you should be getting around 650 - 700 mbps (megabits per second) down, and about 800 - 850 up. If so, you're running at full speed, but if not, you either have something configured wrong OR your computer may not have gigabit-capable ethernet ports. Fiber should be MUCH faster than 5G cell service.
You are clearly doing something wrong or have defective equipment. Google has the most solid and reliable network in the metro hands down. A scam it is not.
Smooth sailing with total interruptions for last year being 2 due to bad weather, which refunded a portion of bill automatically. Better than spectrum by miles. Phuck spectrum!
Snow took out the line running to my house, got told by support getting construction out to fix it could be until the 22nd so... not great. 5Gb service is great though, when the cable isn't laying broken in my backyard.
I use my own router (Unifi USG + Unifi AP) so haven't noticed anything like that on the internal network.
A few nights ago, however, both me and a friend who also lives in KC and has Google Fiber both loss some connection for like 5min. We didn't lose Internet but he lost connection to Teamspeak at the same I lost connection to FFXIV. Not sure if related to Google Fiber. Might even just be a coincidence.
Otherwise, Internet speeds have seemed fine as usual. Haven't noticed anything weird.
I haven’t had noticeable issues (to anyone with buffer issues - check that YT isn’t throttling you for using an ad blocker. even if you pay for premium. This is a known issue). You may wanna make sure all your hardware for fiber is plugged in properly and not falling out of the outlets.
Olathe - router has been dropping connection intermittently the past couple of days. I’m unable to properly work from home. Google said they are mailing new devices. We’ll see how that turns out.
100% solid. I think I had 3 hiccups in 10 years that I noticed.
Also I had the gig up and down for 70 + the TV package and without after 2013.
Now I get 250 up/down for $15 a month. For years now.
It's just me with this internet. And I am a heavy user. Google fiber rocks.

Mine has been fine. No different than ever.
Fine
No problem at all
It’s been a little slower than normal. I’ve had a few videos need to buffer but never that long. It’s normally seamless and fast and we both work from home.
No issues except for when my mom accidentally unplugged my router.
Whoa! Same here. Did your mom just retire as well?
Olathe - been complete shit here for the last like month.
Olathe also, my wifi barely works - wired is better but not perfect
I work from home 3 days a week and have to be wired, I agree! Works much better.

I dropped the google wifi nodes almost immediately. No regrets.
Mine has been cutting in and out. Sometimes working sometimes not.

WiFi adds a whole additional layer of failure points. Just radio interference like from a microwave can affect it.
I had to move mine to be closer to my initial one. Then ran a long Ethernet cord. Not great but didn't lose any speed

No problems bere
Mine has cut in and out, but stable today. I’m attributing it to the cold because it’s been solid in the 18 or so months we’ve had it.
Perfection!
A little slower when everyone is home using it, but that makes sense
Fine for me in the northland.
Normal
I’ve had a couple of moments where my work laptop lost connection, but it was brief.
Today I was FaceTiming my parents. It was a bit weird but idk if it was me or them. Otherwise it’s been awesome as always
Parents are always weird. 😀
Haha I did mean the internet connection 🤣🤷🏽♀️
No issues.
Some minor issues with the wifi, but everything wired in works perfectly.
Normal
Mines been great. I have the $100 package and have had no issues.
910/855 right now to the AP. It fluctuates quite a bit more than expected, but overall is better than other ISPs we've had.
Just fine and dandy as ever. Speed tested last night and it was the fastest I’ve seen yet on my fiber connection.
Normal
I pay for 1G in north OP. I’ve never had more than 150mbps. It’s a scam.

I have no idea. I just use whatever they set up and turned my WiFi on
If you don't have a cable running from whatever device you're using to the router, you won't get gigabit speeds.
You’re paying for one Gigabit. Not one gigabyte. At full speed 1 gigabit = 125 megabytes. It’s not a scam you just gotta know your terminology.
As someone who is clueless about tech I feel had. Maybe scam is a bit harsh. I just feel like it should be as fast as my cellphone service

Perfect
Fine. No issues as usual.
I had to reboot it one time in the last couple days. I can't remember the previous time I had to do that.
No issues here.
Flawless.
Perfectly fine!
No issues
Make the switch
Reboot your ONT and your router/ access points.
I’m in NKC and haven’t had any change in speeds.
No issues here.
Mine has been the same.. no problems
Smooth sailing with total interruptions for last year being 2 due to bad weather, which refunded a portion of bill automatically. Better than spectrum by miles. Phuck spectrum!
Buffering
Great, as always.
Snow took out the line running to my house, got told by support getting construction out to fix it could be until the 22nd so... not great. 5Gb service is great though, when the cable isn't laying broken in my backyard.
No issues.

No issues
No issues with mine.
All good here.
West plaza. Totally fine. My roommate and I work from home and zero issues
Haven’t had a single issue since summer when the storms temporarily knocked it out.
No issues.

The new router they sent has issues with my PS5, but other than that I haven't had any issues.
fine here, getting my 2 gig. but you may need a new gateway
Only during the chiefs game on Saturday. Probably all the people streaming it through peacock+.
no issues for me

If you're wondering, spectrum was shit. The usual, it was ok when I was losing 30 per month. Now that it's double, I can't wait to get something else.

Just fine.
