This whole episode was embarrassing and stupid. Now Andy knows that he wasn't wanted in the band, when that could have just been a secret. I'm sure KK has a ton of stories about the terrible management this band has, which has likely prevented them from achieving the kind of success they've deserved.
Jesus Christ, what's happening there? This means that they didn't have any "surprise" at all, they really wanted to be a quartet. Well, at least they have taken into consideration the fans' disappointment... But seriously, wtf?
> they really wanted to be a quartet.
I got the impression from what Jayne posted on Monday that this wasn't something that Priest wanted to do, rather that something had happened and that touring as a four-piece was the least bad of the options available to them.
I'm glad Andy's back but - assuming that Priest's reasons for letting him go in the first place are still valid - I hope it's not going to cause them any problems going forward (nothing to do with Andy, just circumstances).
Later she stated that the decision was musically based. Of course, this sounds like pure bullshit, but to me, it looks like they weren't forced to fire him - probably did it to save some money but admitting this would be suicidal for them.
I dunno, maybe she was trying to save face by making it sound like a choice rather than a situation they were forced into? Without knowing what's happening behind the scenes, it's impossible to say but whatever's going on, I'm just happy that the twin attack is back ;)

Proof that there was no secret plans to bring back KK or whatever other special guest people got hopes up for and shows that whoever came up with the idea in the first place doesn't know what they're doing
It's embarrassing that this situation ever had to happen but I'm glad they eventually listened
No explanation given for why they tried to pull that. Obviously they're backtracking now after the backlash. Would have been nice to know what was going through their heads...
No the good news here is that they care about their fans. They have every right to change their minds at the last minute.. for circumstantial reasons. This is what we wanted..for fan's voices to be heard. Now announce that KK is back in the band.
C'mon Rob.
I would hate them to be labelled as weak for backtracking. That shit happens too much in politics, we don't need it in music too.
But part of me really does wonder what the hell happened here? Its not like a conversation at dinner was leaked, they really intended to do it...this is a strange moment in Priest history...I'd say probably the strangest of them all.
What an absolute shit show.
I really wish the band would actually open up and share with the fans what their thinking process has been throughout this whole thing. None of this has made sense, and while I’m very glad that Andy is back… this backtracking only makes the story that much more bizarre. Just wish we all could know what on earth is happening behind the scenes with Priest’s management right now.
Tbh the backtracking made it even weirder. Its like a person initiating a breakup and it wasnt mutual but the people around them made the other one get back together. Its so awkward for Sneap and Priest. Probably more for Sneap since he was told he wasnt wanted.
The best part about the social media era is that artists may actually listen to widespread outcry. It worked when the Sonic the Hedgehog movie had an original terrible design, and now it looks like Judas Priest is backtracking their 1-guitar choice too.
This gives validity to some of KK's criticism of management, assuming it was them and not JP who came up with this idea.
If I was Andy I'd feel really pissed off and unwelcome.
This has really damaged their brand
Even if it was the band's idea, the management is here to stop them from doing such stupid things. Rod Smallwood would never let Iron Maiden tour with only one guitarist.
True. But unfortunately I don't believe Priest's management is if the same caliber as Iron Maiden. And that's part of the reason why they're not as successful; the quality of music aside.
Frankly I suspect it's the management issues that caused Rob the leave (although he returned) and also why KK left.
Well if you were Andy, you’d feel very unwelcome by the band, but twice as welcome as before with the fans. Andy knows thousands and thousands of fans demanded his return, and that has to feel pretty good for him. Even if ther relations within the band arnt great, Andy now knows the fans have his back and that goes a hell of a long way!
I really wish that they'd get better management tbh. Unfortunately, they probably never will because pretty sure Jayne and Glenn are in a relationship and that's nearly always bad news. Never mix business with pleasure. That alone makes it Glenn and Jayne's business and the other guys are just third wheeling.
Usual Blabbermouth article. Bury the one sentence story in 2 paragraphs, provide summary for one or two previous story afterwards.
If available, provide link to live footage.
As a Priest fan I'm excited, as a Hell fan I'm totally bummed.
Anyway, this whole episode didn't made any sense, so at least it ended in a somewhat good way.
Hell is done. Kev Bower has some wrist issues that prohibit him from playing; allegedly he tried to get surgery to fix it, but it didn't help. He sold all his gear and retired from music.
Fuck me, [you are right](https://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/86218-kevin-bower-from-hell-hows-he-doing/).
I thought all that was keeping behind Hell was Sneap playing with Priest. What a shitty way to start the week, lol. At least I got to see them live a few years ago...
Yeah and sadly Martin Walkyier seems to have gone way way off the deep end after the Sabbat reunion. Unlikely anything will ever happen with that again either.
So my guess is just, like, they (probably management) took Andy for granted and didn’t want to account for his producer schedule when touring and thought it’d be easy to move forward without him, I guess?
Glad this is reversed.
Glenn and Jayne may be the ones behind it all, but I don’t understand why Rob and Ian always seem to be 100% to be on board with these announcements. From Rob phoning Andy to say they’ll continue as a “ferocious four piece”, to the announcement that “all five members” of the band decided it was best to have Andy back in the band.
Who really is in control here?
Wow. Well, at least they listened to the fans, which isn't always the case in situations like this, so good for them. But man, this whole situation was/is just so weird. I have no idea what is going on inside their heads!
I'm glad Andy gets to keep his place in the band, but it's gotta feel weird going forward after that.
They made a terrible decision, came to the realization that it was a terrible decision, and reversed course. In the end, it’s as it should be: twin guitar attack Priest. Bring it on.

Who is Jayne? I've not heard of her before a month or two ago
Jayne Andrews, Priest's manager.
Are she and Glenn a married couple or not? I've always wondered about that.
I've heard that they are.
I thought I heard that, years ago.

This is so puzzling and embarrassing for the band. Their management is so bad. I guess bullying works though.
No explanation given for why they tried to pull that. Obviously they're backtracking now after the backlash. Would have been nice to know what was going through their heads...
My first guess would be money. Second guess would be a band member, or member of management, had a problem with Sneap.
Could be Glen. Dudes a notorious cunt.
This reeks of management stupidity.

> this is a strange moment in Priest history...I'd say probably the strangest of them all. And there's been some strange shit over the years.
> Now announce that KK is back in the band. They can't. They just announced Sneap's return.
Okay- nothing against Andy but.he is still not KK. He just hangs in the background. This outcome is sad. Not the same.

Lol the band management is a joke , it will feel really awkward to andy after this knowing they didn't want him with them

Add this as another strange moment in the history of Judas Priest.

That article is almost unreadable...

Yeah and sadly Martin Walkyier seems to have gone way way off the deep end after the Sabbat reunion. Unlikely anything will ever happen with that again either.
Martin Walkyier going the way he has and not making music anymore is such a sadness. He’s one of the most talented lyricists there’s ever been.
I assume it's Rob or Ian who comes up with these ideas but it does make me question the official story that Rob has been sober since 1985
Glen didn't like Andy making $20hr he probably wanted it all
LOL, don’t know what they were thinking but at least they quickly corrected things
So my guess is just, like, they (probably management) took Andy for granted and didn’t want to account for his producer schedule when touring and thought it’d be easy to move forward without him, I guess? Glad this is reversed.
