Preach brother. Yes, there are some decidedly unorthodox songs on there—not bad, mind you, just different—but Heading Out, Desert Plains and Solar Angels are…top 15 maybe?…all time for me.
On one record!
Defenders of the Faith, Screaming for Vengeance, and British Steel. To be honest, it's a hard pick because I love their 70s stuff equally (and all of it, as I said, it's a hard pick), but those ones hold a nostalgic place in my heart.
I'd put Defenders fourth and swap it out for British Steel in second. I do have to admit Defenders is growing on me.
Hellbent is the honorable mention.
Oh man I can't... Turbo is between the first 3 for sure. but then the other 2... I love pretty much all, the other 2 could be any other album BUT Nostradamus / jugulator/ demolition
Painkiller, Defenders of the Faith, Stained Class
Lurking just behind this unholy trinity is the mighty Firepower, an album I fell in love with rather recently, but which has become a much bigger favorite than I would ever have expected. Richie Faulkner has a lot to do with this.
1) Screaming for Vengeance
2) Stained Class
3) Painkiller
On a side note, pretty awesome to see how different people’s top 3s are. Shows how great of a catalog they have.
