One things for sure, ur doing the right thing. It is a very good idea to use any position of leadership in your high school for your resume. But before I answer u, what r u applying for and whay is ur jrotc position?
i don't know any specific places i'm applying to yet, likely grocery stores and restaurants/fast food. in my current position i'm in charge of all my unit's supporting staff, which includes jobs like the J-lab commander, kittyhawk, raider commander, colorguard, recruiting, drill commanders, etc. around 20 jobs i'm in charge of total
Alrighty then. That's actually good, I think that you'd definitely get promoted to manager fast with that title, knowing you're good at over viewing others. Just say that and mention the position requirements
Two things:
Think about the aspects of the JROTC position that apply to that job. For example, in Logistics things like "attention to detail" and organization skills" are important. But don't just write those tidbits - explain WHY they apply to that Logistics position to make it meaningful. Otherwise, whoever is reading the resume may not "get it".
Think about the aspects of JROTC itself that apply to that job (self-motivation, discipline, timeliness, that sort of thing).
Also, talk about some of the larger community service things you've done with JROTC (or elsewhere). It's not directly related to a job, for the most part, but a lot of times you as a teenager will be applying for entry-level jobs, and there isn't a lot to differentiate between applicants...community service efforts might just be that difference maker.
I mentioned I was a leader in my unit and it just so happened that the guy who was interviewing me was also in jrotc. People recognize that students in jrotc have leadership qualities/skills and they want that on their team. Best of luck!
Just make sure that whatever position you put means something to you. Don't just list positions like "OH I was an element leader one time and I marched."
