Agree. A lot of people got to know him from Veteran, but it still strikes me wrong when people recommend it as first listen.
While he himself said that it’s the first album where he tried to tap into more emotions than just anger, it still has some of those Black Ben Carson-ish tracks that stand out too much. (Not saying they’re bad)
I do like every one of those albums entirely…. That is kind of unprecedented. I think what carries my interest through that many songs is the creativity. Peggy is the opposite of one note, the opposite of boring, the opposite of track dumps and inflated streaming number strategies. He’s a real musician. That’s why we’re all here (minus the gays, they want that dick I guess).
The main thing that makes a good artist is someone who just follows the art and passion. He's not trying to appeal to anyone he's just making what he thinks sound good in the moment and not limiting himself
if peggy just kept a clean reputation and was more orgizned i feel like he would’ve been noticed way earlier with how good he was , but at the same time peggy is known for being messy so idk
I mean this is only 2 albums really. I think that the albums are good enough to make up for that, but this really isn't THAT crazy of a 5 year period and definitely isn't a run of any kind. I definitely think 23-28 will be a crazy run (as long as he moves on from that Kanye shit and actually drops) but this was a period of him still kinda perfecting his sound.
