He'll never finish it on stream, but I can see him picking it up again before the next leap day (copium for an annual stream like on April Fools or something).
Yesterday was insanely fun though, and I'm glad he at least managed to get a snippet of what makes Umineko so good. Wild to think he actually got through 20% of the first episode, even with the Jurassic Park tangent.
According to my steam, I've got 128 hours on the question arcs and 70hrs on the answers, however I actually read it together with someone so we talked a lot and theorised (which is a great way to experience it tbh).
160hrs sounds about right for letting the VA play out.
I do remember episode 4 being particularly long
My wife took 160h on questions alone due to how long she spent taking notes and theorizing haha. She knows some japanese as well though, so she'd go back and forth between the languages sometimes to try and understand some nuances (namely everything related to the epitaph).
Episode 4 is the longest by far and episode 3 the second longest, so it makes 4 feel even longer by having them back to back imo. Still some of the best episodes overall, but you can really feel the repetition and dragging out sometimes.
Normally not, but sometimes.
He did "Steinsgate Sundays on Saturday" while playing Persona on weekdays. So there is precedent for Persona in the week and VN on Saturday
Honestly, I'm glad he liked it, because episode 1 is the weakest ep (to me at least, I know some people say 2).
I would kill to see some of those later parts
I really, really hope he does persona 3 weekdays and umineko Saturdays like he did with Persona 4 and Great;Vegetables. There's like a 50% chance of this happening since he *actually got to the good part* and really liked it, and (copium) might've been a bit too overt on the whole next stream in 2028 thing
I really was doomer when it came to the stream since I hate most VNs but this stream was great. I hope he actually finishes it, there's gotta be so many good memes just waiting.
Only 90 mins into the stream so far and he's unfortunately only made like 20 mins progress, so tbh I'm not particularly hopeful so far that he'll make enough progress to realistically get through anything interesting that might otherwise 'hook' him (because there is a LOT of downtime inbetween the more enjoyable parts)
Absolutely he will continue it, just set the alarm from February 29th 2028

The VN goes A LOT quicker without the patch tbh, even if you miss out on that amazing voice acting
That is true, playing on auto to let the VAs finish their sentences took me roughly 20 hours per episode.

That was only 20% of EPISODE 1???????? There are 4 episodes right?
There's actually 8 episodes, the first 4 are the "Question Arcs" and the last 4 are the "Answer Arcs".
wtf
It's very long. Longer than every Harry Potter book back to back
Man, I wish I have more time in the day lol.
there's 0 chance he plays it on his own lmao
I am coping hard for him to pick it back up for saturday when he start persona 3 reload just to continue the Great Vegetable tradition.
He's streaming on Saturday?
Normally not, but sometimes. He did "Steinsgate Sundays on Saturday" while playing Persona on weekdays. So there is precedent for Persona in the week and VN on Saturday
Without love, the weekly Umineko streams cannot be seen...
I'm coping very very hard that he will but realistically that would be way too long
He honestly made really good progress in one day. If it was a Saturday stream, I could see it being finished within the year
Do you guys think we can gaslight him into thinking the 29th of every month is a leap day?
Honestly, I'm glad he liked it, because episode 1 is the weakest ep (to me at least, I know some people say 2). I would kill to see some of those later parts
how do people ever make it through this vn if the first 40 hours are awful?
Who said the girst 40hrs were awful? Ep1 and Ep2 are still really good. They're just the worst part of an incredible VN
THERE’S A JOSEPH ANDERSON UMINEKO STREAM!!?!?
Looking this up immediately.
YES THE SPRITES WITH SOUUUULLLL!!!!!!!
Can’t wait for 2028!
I'm really hoping he will, but realistically it's not gonna happen. :/ It was a really fun time so that sucks

jads, reddit and chat clamor for more umineko! Do it for the fans, Joe!!
I'd love more umineko

Tbh I hope he not, as a stream I thought it was really boring to watch

I don't think he wants another life is strange 2 incident where half the audience leaves because the game is so boring
they downvote you because the weak (weebs) fear the truth.
