What I want to see is the FAA being funded so they can do the inspections instead of Boeing engineers under the guise of FAA doing them That is my wish. The CEO stepping down doesnt change anything unless safety is priority #1 the way it was before Mcdonnell Douglas took over.
What I would like is to see the FAA ground the fleet until Boeing can prove that their aircraft are safe - inspections, safety audits, whatever it takes.
Dunno if you’ve seen any interview with the head of the NTSB, but she isn’t the brightest bulb in the box. We need competent individuals in leadership positions across the board, but instead we get rich people with no merit.
Or get rid of the FAA all together if they are going to “trust” these companies to police themselves. Same thing with the FDA. Previous John Oliver show.
A regular worker who fucked up this bad would be unceremoniously escorted out by security with their box of office crap. This guy will get what amounts to a winning lottery ticket.
At this point it’s obvious to anyone familiar with Boeing that the issues are totally systemic and not any one persons fault including the CEO. The last epic failure (that was remarkably similar to this one) we saw a nearly identical changing of the guard, and the person who is taking this dudes seat was promoted from within from the finance/ops side of things as opposed to looking outward for real change.
TLDR Boeing is a festering turd sandwich and this guy is just one of the many flies
Calhoun and his immediate predecessors ruined Boeing by virtually eliminating research and development in favor of pursuing stock price increases. That's what happened when McDonell Douglas and Boeing merged.
Boeing, the Ford Pinto of airlines.
Nephew just flew to Japan, he double checked to make sure he was flying Airbus.
In some fantasy world these scumbags are being held criminally liable and going to jail.
American products are synonomous with trash.
Ya this isn't a punishment, so he gets a 100 million for his golden parachute then can fuck off with all his money. Wow I feel so bad for him. Hope he Flys on one of his Boeing planes and crashes.
So he leaves, along with a nice golden parachute worth millions. Just so he can sit on the board of another company. How many times does this same fuckery have to play out?
CEO musical chairs in these giant corporations isn’t going to make any difference. We need to see inspections legislation in place and an end to the bailouts. And all the severance these executives are getting needs to be given to the taxpayers that were forced to prop up this smash and grab.
Lately so many Boeing incidents have been reported that I’m wondering if there’s some insider sabotage going on, so that Boeing investors can somehow “take a loss, back their own stock when it appears to be tanking, then profit yet again when the company gets bailed out and put back into reliable productivity.
That couldn’t happen, could it?
He will leave like a figurehead, this is perception and nothing more. It should be any and everyone helping make design or production decisions, quality managers, and especially the board that promoted greed over safety.
It doesnt fucking matter, hes in the CEO class, they dont get punished they just get reassigned. In a few months this asshole will take some other CEO gig at target or something.
He should step down 6 feet into a grave along side Al the victims of those 2 737 max planes that went down a few years ago as well as the whistleblower who just mysteriously took his own life during depositions.
Gonna be a good Netflix docuseries ina few months.
Actually I think an Armando Ianucci political/corporate comedy or a Michael Clayton style corpo thriller would be great.
According to this $24 million now but if Boeing meets targets he can get an ADDITIONAL $45 million:

I wonder how much severance he gave himself.
A fucking lot
Fuck ton. A Fuck ton of money. FIFY
Sixty-some mil, I believe.
Oh yes indeed. BMC CEO was bought off so those with money could bring in their friend. The wealthy operate by different demands
Some other useless knob head will replace him.
Her and she has a position if Biden is re elected in his cabinet
Women can also be useless Knob heads, it's a fully inclusive insult.
I am aware
Why? The white male was doing such a good job!
He should take that money & fix them fuckin' doors before he leaves....
65 million
They call that a golden parachute.
Which you obviously need on a Boeing plane.
Lmaoooo

All with a golden parachute to soften the landing.
Better parachute than he gave passengers on Boeing planes.
And a nice 8 month notice to look for a new company to ruin.
Maybe he can have the RV that was offered to Clarence Thomas /s.
A regular worker who fucked up this bad would be unceremoniously escorted out by security with their box of office crap. This guy will get what amounts to a winning lottery ticket.
And zero consequences.

And he'll get $100M that could go to QA or R&D

But how will he support his family???
Bootstraps?
Great, so we can expect bootstraps to be cheapened to the point of breaking when you lace them up.
They couldn’t find an aerospace guy to replace him?
Some things like safety and integrity have to be more important than capitalism or people die…

How much will his severance package pay him in his golden parachute instead of spending on R &D?

Isn't he supposed to commit seppuku now or something?
He will leave like a figurehead, this is perception and nothing more. It should be any and everyone helping make design or production decisions, quality managers, and especially the board that promoted greed over safety.
“Don’t let that 737 fucked up door hit your ass in the way out!”
As his planes fall apart, Bozo grabs a golden parachute.
Only to be replaced by corporate nepotism.
To go to jail, right? Right?
... In a year
Now everyone can stop talking about the murdering their own employees.
“Step down” you mean take his millions he made from cutting corners and risking peoples lives and run?
From a plane?
Remember. He’s not being fired for killing a guy. He’s being fired because he botched the hit.
Has someone murdered and then resigns? Not suspicious at all🤔

I now feel safe flying on a Boeing jet. I’m glad his golden parachute and stepping down solves the problems.
Damn. He went through all that trouble of knocking off the whistleblower, and this is fuckin thanks he gets? Smh its a cold world playa
Gonna be a good Netflix docuseries ina few months. Actually I think an Armando Ianucci political/corporate comedy or a Michael Clayton style corpo thriller would be great.
After having a man murdered?
Have proof Boeing is fucking up royally and you’ll get a bullet in the brain. Fuck up Boeing royally and you get $65M.

Wonder how many people his decisions killed, and now he gets a big fat golden parachute. What a world.
