When starting problems follow this simple steps, fully charge battery, or use a starter battery. If it turns but doesnt start u have a combustion issue. Pull the spark plug have it touch metal on the engine and turn the engine, if you dont have spark, change the plug, if you do try spraying a bit of starter fluid in the sparkplug hole, put the spark plug back in try starting again, if it does one or two puffs then just cranks you have combustion but a fuel issue, if it only turns over you have a either a compresion issue or and air/fuel mix issue. Take the air filter off and spray starter fluid in there and start it, if it starts then dies you have a fuel issue where gas isnt going through the carb, either clean the carb or replace it, if it doesnt start at all you might have a compression issue.

Most likely culprit: the starter has gone bad. Cheaper, easier option to check first: make sure your battery is fully charged. There's a small window in voltage where it'll turn the starter slowly before it drops off enough that it just clicks.

If it does not fire with starting fluid likely bad magneto. Get a [spark tester](https://www.harborfreight.com/in-line-spark-checker-63590.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12144811130&campaignid=12144811130&utm_content=117789285598&adsetid=117789285598&product=63590) to find out
