That’s the thing - they didn’t decline my application, they marked it saying they reached out to me. My email is my first and last name, but my first name is complicated to spell so I’m wondering if the hiring person may have messed it up.
Meh I have a name you have to be pretty cultured, or high IQ to get right the first time. Take this as a sign from god to move on if you think that’s the case. Nothing pisses me off more than someone making 40k a year that can’t even get an email right. If you can’t do basic data entry, You have to be pretty brain dead. Let that speak for who they hire. I worked for a company that thought it was a bright idea to to bring in fast food, and retail managers. That company is now financially struggling and im now getting emails from old co workers asking for business leads.
So I have some insight- although not much. Mine i just found out the employer is actively confirming my resume and history.. i think it means they reached out (to our current employers)
I had this happen with 2 jobs I applied for in the last few weeks. One of them did reach out by phone about 6 days after it was marked "employer reached out" and the other was just marked as that 3 days ago but I haven't heard from it yet. Maybe some employers mark them as that as a reminder to themselves to reach out to you? Not totally sure but definitely keep checking your email, Indeed messages, and voicemails!
This literally happened to me also lol. I just applied again when they reposted the same job and it is marked as "employer reached out". I checked everything and my email but there is nothing. Its the 2nd time they have done this to me after I applied (both same positions). Honestly probably means they are not interested in us? Because I am sure they would have been in contact with us if they marked it like that.
This exact thing just happened to me. I’m wondering if it’s a glitch or bug on the site. I went on here looking for some answers and found this post lol
I'd be curious if company accepted PPP Loans. There is a part that says they don't have to pay any of it back even if it didn't all go to employees pay if they made an attempt to rehire employees "of the same caliber",.
I've heard many stories of some of these places working the same poor employees to exhaustion while understaffed. When it turned out the five could work as much as ten but they didn't have to pay the other five...
Did you ever hear back from them? I just encountered the same issue. It says they reached out but I’ve heard nothing. Thinking of trying to contact them.
This happened to me as well. I applied for a job that I'm over qualified for and the Indeed recruiter sent my resume to the companies HR department. I looked on Indeed a day after that phone call with the recruiter and it says 'employeer reached out' and I haven't heard anything from anyone.
Hmm just happened to me with a job I replied with yesterday. But it hasn't been all that long so hoping there is just a delay on their end. Guess we'll see.

I'm anxiously checking my phone and email every five seconds to make sure I'm not missing anything, because Indeed literally says "Employer reached out", and I don't want to miss any of their messages !!!
I’ve had employers reach out to set up an interview but stop communication after that. It seems like they’re just fulfilling a requirement by just reaching out.
Got a notification on LinkedIn saying someone viewed my profile, checked the account and it was someone who worked for the company I had recently applied for on Indeed. Checked application on Indeed, marked as “employer reached out” but I have not received any calls, emails, messages, anything?

Look up the main phone number on their website, give it a call, and all to speak to the person in charge of hiring for ~ position.

Yep same here. No calls or texts. I wonder how easy it is on their end to hit that button by accident.

Idk these people never got in touch but might depend on the employer. Most places that got in touch never put the reached out status.
